If I want to just replace the motor will this just work with my existing track and chain from Merlin MT60P
Wondering the same thing. Did you ever get an answer?
Thanks
Screws are used in the drums to allow motor to apply equal closing pressure on both sides of the door I would assume?
I was trying to figure out why. That's the only thing I could come up with as well.
He adds the screws into the drum so when the door is closed no one can open it
Is that particular one a cheep version of the ATA GDO6 ??????
Did not see web link here
do you leave the 2 screws in the drums
Great instructive video, thank you. I would probably leave the old locking mechanism in place so you could still lock lock the door if for some reason you have to use it in manual mode.
Dude the front light bit comes off. I was panicking that I broke it 😂.
You forgot to mention the removal of the pinning screws.
How much is the motor n remote
Hi my remote is not working and door is not opening by remote but it open manually and also opening from the inside button on machine any suggestions what i do Thanku
Why add the screws in the drum?
Why add the screws in drum?
Great explanation. Fixed my daughter's remote. No more manual opening in the rain, or wondering who's behind a tree. Thankyou 👍
What was the point of putting a screw in each side of the door @ 1:40?
I have same question about why install the screws? What's the reason?
What is the weight or torque it can pick up?
Will it fit a live shaft door.
Manually
This is the best and the simplest tutorial tube out there. Thank you
can one install a back up battery
The Auto Garage Door Operator is a well constructed device for operating panel sectioned garage doors. The unit works quietly. It slows down at each end of travel and repeatedly stops at exactly the programmed limits. The force limiting reversing function works well except close to the end of down travel. The instructions are quite well written and the video is well produced. There are some confusing issues with both the written instructions and the video as detailed below. The pieces of track are a very tight fit. This is beneficial aiding the strength and alignment of the track when assembled. Because it is difficult to dismantle the track it is important to locate the trolley (supplied in the shorter box, not the track components box) and insert it in the track before completing assembly. The instructions for inserting the trolley are in the plastic bag with the push button controllers. Inserting the trolley can only be done when two long sections of track during assembly are spaced at least 120 mm apart before hammering them home. Instruction item no.7 is impossible to perform because the end bracket “B” prevents access for the trolley. Otherwise follow the directions which come in the long box. Ideally all the instructions and all the components for the track should have been in the long box. The operating arm which comes in two pieces, one straight and one cranked, should be assembled as short as possible otherwise the travel on the toothed belt may be insufficient to raise the door to the maximum height. After the door travel limits have been set the remote controllers must be programmed and then the force setting procedure executed. The video has the force setting and remote controller operations in the reverse order which is impossible because after the door operator has run the door open and closed the ‘up and ‘down’ buttons do not work to raise and lower the door for force setting. You need the remote controllers working to do the force setting. Start at Force level 1 and work up. The use of a 50 mm block was not possible in my case. I had to use a 150 mm block to test the reversing function. The video also does not tell you that a number ‘2’ appears in place of the number ‘1’ after the open limit has been set. The warning label shown in the video was missing from my purchase. I hope this helps.
Hi, when setting the limits on opening the door will the motor keep running until you stop it or is there a maximum number of rotations? If I have a very light door but say 1M wide x 8M high, can I set the limits so that the motor will keep running for the full 8M door height?
Hi Nigel, there is a hard limit of 3.2m high on these openers. For higher doors, the Door Master might be a better solution.
Very cute!
