I was born in Vila Franca do campo but now live in the US for 26 years now. It made me very emotional to see this video, i went back to Vila Franca do Campo two years ago for first time since i left. It was amazing i still have family there and at one point in my life i plan to go back for good. If anyone decides to go and visit the island you wont be disappointed, all i can say is keep an open mind and try everything and eat everything. Once again great video thank you Alice for bringing back all those memories.

My grandmother & grandfather migrated to the US from the Azores, many years ago to RI/CT. I’m 50 % Portuguese 👍 glad I found this video, thank you. Need to get there some day.

What an adventure, climb pico alone in the night, guess your island choices were the same as me, I went there to draw and paint and cant wait to explore the other islands. Thanks for showing a bit about the sunrise in the top of pico, was inspiring. I only did a small part of the climb but maybe one day Ill take a chance and try the top. Keep going

Fantastic! Azores, I was told that they were situated at the convergence of 3 active plates, but looks like they are in a zone of transform faults of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Most interesting, Alice. Lots and lots of hot springs in Azores. Geologically awesome!

It was wonderful. The water that i drank was warm, it mixes with the cooler river water before entering the fountain that I was at.
