I ate a Guinea Fowl egg once, three days later a Guinea Fowl chick burst out from my rib cage like the alien from the Ridley Scotts Alien movies. After that I just stuck to eating chicken eggs, much less risk in getting infected.
New subscriber 😊 Found your channel doing research on some Guinea keets we just purchased- 5 weeks old. We’ve had chickens for years but these are our first guineas. Thanks for the info!
They're fun and interesting birds for sure. Mine are straight free range. Roost in the same tree every night. You should mention that they can pretty much fly too. You clip their wings?
Guinea Fowl Eggs (vs Chicken Eggs) // + ALL the Free Range Guinea Fowl Updates! What egg have you tried that you think is the best tasting?! We love to hear from you! ☺
Oh ducklings are precious and so much smarter than chickens it’s not even close @@JessalynTester . The Guinea keets are also very smart and quite affectionate as birds go , I hope they’ll stick around once they taste their freedom but that won’t be till August or July .
@@BornAgainFarmGirl I hope it goes well for you also! I was really worried that our guineas and turkeys would clash when they were first introduced but they’ve each got their own “home bases” and been totally fine! Between the cows, sheep, the birds - it’s just one big, happy family over here! 😆
@@JessalynTester Right now they are in a large brooder inside our hen house so they all know each other , hoping ours turns out just as well as yours !
Everyone has a different opinion on how loud they seem to be but they never bothered us! Around 7 minutes into the video, I believe, you you can hear their sound! 😁
We haven’t come across any fertilized eggs so far but we collect them daily. And yes, they do try to lay on them. We will likely hatch some guineas this year too! ☺️Thanks so much for watching!
I have never eaten guinea eggs but have tried an Ostrich egg which was really rich. We raised Pekin ducks and the eggs are amazing for baking. Would love to have guineas but live in a town. Our neighbours with the 2 barking dogs would hate them.
For more detail on how to separate male and female is that, male's usually have bigger " barbels " and more colourful heads, also the female Guinea's are bigger than the male's and also have looser & wider cloaca's. don't ask me how I know :/
Try to talk with the owners. Maybe mention to the owners that someone in the neighborhood might put Snairol (very poisonous) in their gardens, which would be a hazard for the guineas. Maybe putting some metallic, shiny streamers in your garden area.
The Testers gained a new subscriber today. Good video/ audio quality and an excellent educational channel.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you and your kind feedback! ☺️ - Jessalyn

And the Guinea egg is up to 30% protein! I don't know why but i have read that you should put the eggs in the carton w/the pointed end down! lol

Duck eggs are my favorite .
I haven’t personally tried duck eggs! We are in the works of digging a pond so I’d love to get some ducks! - Jessalyn

Thanks for the info. How loud are they? One more noisy than the other? Make versus female?

I liked this video, thankyou for making so information packed :) Let's go Brandon !
Thanks for the video. About eggs, are they fertilized eggs and do they tend to lay on the eggs to get them to hatch at some point?

Please make a video on like a q&a about guinea keets please
We’d be happy to! Thank you for the suggestion! ☺️
How do you keep predator birds from getting them in the day time
You always have planes flying over.
Yes..there’s a small town airport not too far from us. Not my favorite thing when we’re trying to film..🤣 Sorry!
I'm a pilot. I appreciate it

Does anyone know a way to keep the neighbors Guineas out of my yard , without the obvious going postal on them?

Let's talk about how noisy they are. Couldn't hear half of what he said.
I wasn't bothered by the background sounds.
Oh one other thingy if Guineas would lay eggs yr round i would not have chickens! Altho they are the dumbest birds i have ever seen!!! lol
