New to the Hayes hunting videos. I enjoy them a lot. Good sportsmanship, excellent woodsmanship, and display of hunting ethics. Hunting wild animals in their environment; not shooting deer over food plots.
Wish I'd watched this video before the video of Benji tracking the cat. Looks like an awesome trip and a great bunch of guys. Bacon fat makes anything edible, even liver. 🏹
Ace video, Clay! Just to let you know, the best way to cook liver is to keep the inside raw. 😉 Excellent to see the good Andy - that man taught me all I know about wooden arrows! Big love to you and the family!
Awesome video again. Deer liver is one my favorite things to eat. Unfortunately I can only eat a little bit or it flares my gout up. Part 2 can’t get here soon enough. 👊
My Dad raise me on deer liver, its dame good, the first thing you eat, 2 aclock in the morring or 5 in the after noon, grate shot , with the bow man, grate video.
Hey Clay - thanks for taking the time to post this. We really appreciate being able to share in your adventures. Your videos that I prefer though are the thoughtful, quiet journeys, where you take us on your solo hunts. I know it can't always be like that, but this one had too many 'knuckle-heads' in it!
Fresh Deer Heart is the best, just a thin layer of olive oil in pan and some pepper on the heart if you want but I say nope to the pepper. The Olive Oil is needed to keep the outer part from Burning and sticking to the pan.
Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older. But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.
Deer heart is the secret fillet mignon. Remove all the white and veins, slice thin, simmer in butter, salt, pepper. I soak in salt water over night. mmm. mmm..
This would be so much fun. Makes me think about the indians that would just pitch up a camp hunt for a couple days then haul the meat on horses back to camp and tell stories.
Back in the old days a mountain lion bow case and quiver was one of the most expensive things u could own as a plains indian i think they were worth 3 guns
I've been lucky enough to shoot a lot of deer the last couple years. It's our primary source of red meat year in and year out. I've tried liver every possible way -- pate to barely cooked with bacon, diced and friend w/ pancetta, ground into sausage... I just cannot abide it. I'm probably weird like that. My dogs sure do like it though.
Would love to spend a week or two like that. Just curious about the seasoning you was shaking onto the liver and heart. What brand is it, sure looked good
Thank's for letting me ride along Clay , very special time
Camp meat and fellowship made me feel like I was back in hunt camp. Thanks for taking us along.
Glad you could join

How do I know where the product bought from?
Awesome! What were you all using to carry that doe out? Was it just a type of home made sling?
It’s just his back pack with a meat shelf.

I just can't bring myself to eat organ meat lol. I'm sure I would if I was starving but hopefully I'm not in that situation.
Does he sell bows?
What kind of bird grows those pink feathers?? Lol
Retro turkeys 😜
do you eat the cat?
Would love to spend a week or two like that.
