this was my mum's favourite cake to bake and i've been craving it badly for a few days.... not to be weird but eva actually looks exactly like my mum did, so this video hit a little harder :') thanks guys for the amazing video as always, bravi ♥
So I've been making this cake since I saw this video 2 years ago... Well today I decided to make the cake before I realized that I didn't have any oranges so I used 3 limes instead... It was fantastic. Def recommend giving it a try
This is such a great cake. I make it at least twice yearly, usually at Easter and during summer. I add a teaspoon of orange flower water to the cake and another teaspoon to the powdered sugar glaze. It gives it a floral flavor that adds a nice quality to the cake. Che Bella la torta!
Harper, you’re becoming an amazing home chef!! Next you both will be opening a restaurant! Arizona would surely welcome an authentic Italian restaurant 🇮🇹🍝🍕👩🏻🍳👨🏼🍳
Don’t do it unless you grew up working in one. Too much pressure and stress for very little money. Just enjoy yourself doing home cooking and teaching it.
So I baked this today & it came out so good, next time i'm going to use oil, its just way faster then standing there melting butter, also i'm going to add baking soda it was way to flat for a cake.
I really like this way, Eva teaching and guiding Harper into cooking, makes it very easy for us to learn alongside Harper. Great video as usual. The pan d'arancio looks delicious.
My husband brought home the sweetest, juiciest oranges and we ate them all in record time. Then you go making a cake that looks amazing! Cakegods, please let there be more of those oranges at our local store!
My husband is going to want this cake. Looks delicious. By the way when you blend the whole orange and eat it it gives you more energy than coffee. My mom made us kids eat it all even the seeds. She had three orange trees and one apricot tree. I miss her every day
Lovely, as a greek i objerve that most south Italy recipes are very similar with Greek ones, maybe Magnia Grecia left more than what we believe. Grazie per aver condiviso
I love you guys. I'm so happy that you two have found each other. You have no idea how you set an example for our younger generations. This is how a couple explores the world together. Living, loving and learning together. ❤
I made this yesterday! It was so fabulous that I need to make another one today. Half of it I left at middle son’s house and the other half is almost gone, well will be after I’ve had breakfast this morning. I’ll make another one to share with my youngest son today. This recipe will be a family favorite! Thank you. 💜
Il pan d’arancia sembra semplicemente delizioso! Lo farò per mia moglie siciliana e i nostri ragazzi. Eva e Harper, grazie per un'altra ricetta classica siciliana! Un abbraccio dal Canada! 😊🇮🇹🇨🇦
This was a wonderful cake! We followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. We might add some chocolate chips or a chocolate glaze next time. The orange paste out of the blender would make a great marmalade substitute! Thanks for the inspiration!
I like how Harper ever so tactfully avoided making a comment when Eva pointed out the benefit of sifting the flour is that it puts "h'air" into the cake. 😄💝
I'm Sicilian, as was my ex and her entire family, and so is the majority of the people in my hometown (in rural Australia), and the only time I ever ate this cake was when visiting my Zie in Brisbane. I really wanted the recipe so I could recreate it, and now thanks to you, I can do that. Grazzi!
Oranges are one of nature's greatest inventions, so hard to go wrong with 'em, and I've been wanting to try all kinds of orange recipes lately. I'm looking forward to this one soon! When Harper nails the recipe pretty easily, it gives hope to all of us rookie bakers lol
It's been decades since I ate the last good genuine TRUE orange: natural, fragrant and tasty. A flavor that unfortunately I find it hard to remember. I couldn't find them in stores anymore.
What a beautiful couple and love Eva teaching us her recipes. Like how Eva explains each step and the video close up of her cooking and your humor makes me want to keep watching all your videos. Please keep making more videos. I made the orange cake and so delicious. Will post on my Instagram tomorrow and tag you 🥰 Thank you
My maternal grandparents were both Sicilian and we never had this cake BUT when I first started working in a professional kitchen (washing dishes/pots&pans in the kitchen of the Buffalo Playboy club after graduating high school and wasn't sure what to do with my life). I moved up to working pantry and one of the first desserts I wanted to make was some kind of orange cake. The head chef helped me a bit and guided me to finishing, wasn't bad but not exactly what I was expecting. Oddly enough, I never tried another orange cake recipe, though I made 100's of different kinds of desserts in my cooking career. I'm definitely going to try this recipe, maybe I will finally have the orange cake I wanted so many years ago.
What a cute couple. I love them, already. I’ve already gotten groceries for the week but at the end of THIS week, I’m definitely getting some almond flour so I can make this cake. It looks really good.
Thank you for posting this! I tried a recipe online and it worked really well (I had to cut the sugar). I could not believe how much flavor comes from using the entire orange. I can't wait to try this recipe as oranges are in season. 🤤🤤🤤
I am from India here we have Nagpur orange ( very very easy to peel the skin and very tastier than any other orange) which may be suitable for this cake. I will purchase different Orange from super market and try it. Thanks for the recipe.
Hey guys…. this was amazeballs! Loved the moistness and consistency. We used Campari and icing sugar for the final drizzle… Mama mia… I have no more words.
OMG I just found this video on your channel. This cake reminds me of my childhood. My Nonna is from Agrigento, Sicily, and she would make this cake every time for us when we were there. She uses the exact same recipe. Nonna would always make some holes all over the cake with a toothpick and then add the glaze, so that the glaze goes a little bit inside the cake too and make it super moist. Watching you guys make this cake makes me wanna go back to Sicily RIGHT NOW!!!!
I wondered why they didn’t poke little holes and pour the glaze over the cake while it was still warm. That’s what I would’ve done, if I were going to glaze it.
@@Hollis_has_questions It's too much. While cakes that have been infused are amazing at first, they end up being overdone, oversweet, overmoist. If that's what you seek, try a Turkish yogurt cake.
Just made this and it's super yummy! Easy recipe and it turned out perfect. Somewhere between a cake and bread, lots of orange flavor and not too sweet. This is a new fav. Grazie!
I made this cake and it was great....I used Blood orange however, cause that's what I had on hand. The cake was so good because it was just sweet enough and had a slight bitterness too which was lovely. I think I will be making it again today.

I made this delicious dessert for my Mom’s birthday. She loves orange flavor. I added some lemon juice to the glaze as well as orange juice, just for a more tangy flavor. Also added a little orange food coloring to the glaze. The cake looks beautiful. Thanks Pasta Grammar!
