    Fought with the dealer and lost on this one. They refused to put on the SRT/Viper filter as they said it wouldn't fit, but now I have proof. Thanks!

      Phil G yup it fits great and has slightly higher flow rate.

      @@CasualRacing I knew about the flow rate for sure, and was sure it would fit, but there was no arguing with the mechanic. If I had the means, would definitely had changed it myself.

      Phil G the dealer probably will just do everything by the book with what their manuals tell them. The srt filter is made by wix filters so you could also find a compatible one from them which would basically be the same.

    I wonder how many oil changes you can do before the push pins break on that 2nd panel. What a pita!

    You notice how he uses another wrench to back up the oil cooler plug? Always do this or you can twist the cooler flange and ruin it on the spot.

    So with any oil cooler you just have to drain it that’s it?

    I notice that there seems to be two nuts to drain the intercooler. Is that the case?

    • @CasualRacing
      @CasualRacing  4 года назад

      Robert Lyon just one nut for draining the oil cooler.

    Should have left the panels off after filling with fresh oil to check for any leaks. PITA to uninstall everything if ya have a leak.

    Why do you have to pour oil in the filter? Doesn't the oil go into it when pouring new oil in?

    • @CasualRacing
      @CasualRacing  3 года назад

      Mr A car pumps oil through the filter when it’s running. Good to prime the filter with oil before reinstalling so there’s not a period where it’s not pushing oil through when you first start it.

    You were not using the "Pennzoil Ultra Platinum OW-40" the only motor oil for the SRT that approved by the FCA to meet the Chrysler "MS12633" toughest and highest requirements. Your car engine is going to suffer premature piston ring wear and developed awful sludge problem (end sarcasm).

      slonold lol haha. My engine was previously rebuilt and the engine builder recommended the type of oil I’m using now :P

      No Grip NC engine ran lean at the top end of the track and took out a cylinder.

      No Grip NC I run the driven brand oil in mine just because it’s what the engine builder recommended when they rebuilt it.

    Nobody else made the comment so I will, if there was a time to have your black latex gloves on ,it would have been when you pulled the oil filter. Other than that, nothing special.

    • @CasualRacing
      @CasualRacing  5 лет назад

      I actually don't bother with the gloves at all anymore.
