Thank you for sharing your views on consuming healthy bacteria. In the past 4 years I’ve noticed that for a society that obsesses about cleanliness, as a whole we are very unhealthy. I am in much better condition since beginning on the raw milk, whole food, natural medical remedies, etc journey. It’s nice to know others out there feel the same :)

    *Thanks for the video!*
Back in 1984, when I built and planted my first 2 foot deep raised bed garden, I purchased a Squeezo food mill machine. Initially, it was purchased for processing tomatoes into tomato juice and pasta sauce. We soon decided to use it to make apple butter from a recipe out of my mother's paperback Amish cookbook that she purchased in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, back in the early 1960's. I love the simplicity of that old Squeezo machine because of its design. The ability to put raw grapes, quartered raw tomatoes, and quartered and cooked raw apples into the hopper, turn the crank/auger, and have the seeds, skins, and stems drop out of the end of the machine while the cleaned pulp/juices flow out to the side at a 90° angle is such a time saver.

Wow! Loved seeing Winston on the counter, the impressive length of the apple peel, the detailed instructions you give, including when you are cutting up the apples, and the apple cider grand finale. Every fall my mom and I used to go to an apple farm in Ohio and leave with bags of the best apples I’ve ever tasted. They always offered samples and jugs of fresh pressed apple cider and so the cider press portion you shared meant more than you’ll ever know. God is good, all the time. Thank you RuthAnn.

This is a special day for me, all my favorite videos are airing! Our extended family love anything apple. We always made applesauce. My homemade sauce was much requested for family potlucks/dinners. I make mine differently as we like chunky applesauce so I peel, cook spice and skip the food mill.

One of my favorite memories is from on the farm where I grew up. We had our three little boys, and went out to the farm and harvested apples and used my uncles apple press. A bushel of apples made a gallon of juice, approximately. Brought it home in gallon milk jugs and canned it up without sugar. So delicious! Love your channel!

I always look forward to your Saturday morning videos. So wholesome, educational and relaxing. Your grandson is so adorable and clearly happy to be your kitchen helper/taster. Watching your apples get pressed into cider was interesting and knowing a family member was doing it for you was touching. I miss my dad and all the members of that generation of our family. Their ways of talking was a little different that the younger generation and it touched my heart. Thank you for explaining all the benefits of raw apple cider as I was completely unaware. The idea of using ziplock bags in the freezer to store the cider was brilliant! I'm going to try that method myself. I wonder if using tote bags to hold the ziplock bags might be beneficial as well. I’m a new subscriber and I am fascinated with your videos and your lifestyle. One of my grandmothers was raised on a farm and she lived on a farm all her life while raising her 10 children. I remember her having canning jars filled with many types of fruits and vegetables. She would cook the wild game her “boys” would get while out hunting. I used to love her fried rabbit and squirrel. She made her own biscuits every week and I loved watching her make the dough in her wooden oblong bowl. I’m mentioning all this to illustrate that I think people were so much healthier when their food was homemade and they worked every day to have the security of enough food to feed their families. Knowing now about all the chemicals and additives being put into processed foods, it’s no wonder so many people have way more health issues. It’s very scary.
Thank you for helping to preserve some of these forgotten food prep methods and sharing them with your audience. Have you ever watched or heard of Mary’s Nest on RUclips? She cooks and preserves according to “pioneer” methods and gives a lot of information on nutrition and the importance of eating whole foods. Both of your channels are so important!
Hope your voice is feeling better soon!

Thank you so very much for doing this video. It was so informative for you to show The codling Moth damage. I remember you making the traps but since I didn't know the effects The Moth had on the apples now I'm able to see and that is exactly what happens to my apples and I did not know what it was thank you so very much for your kindness and sharing especially when I know you did not feel 100% due to your voice you are such a special lady you do make our world a better place thank you

Thanks again Ruth Ann. I love you videos too. I love learning from someone else that shares the same things that I do. I don't like things that have been sprayed or had it's healthy benefits killed. I pray that you have a wonderful day sister in The Lord.

Hello Ruth Ann. In last weeks video I noticed you have a wooden screen door. I love a screen door like that. The sound of a wooden screen door reminds me of home. It's gives such a comforting feeling. Along with all the wonderful memories your children will have I hope the sound of a screen door will always bring them back home. ❤Patsy

Many years ago we purchased a tomato paste mill at a estate sale. What a time saver never peel or core fruit just put in and turn crank. Very dry remains come out and very fine apple sauce.

Besides, a little ground up bugs or worms just add protein. They won’t hurt us. 🥰

Thank you for showing us everything apples. My brother in law has a huge apple tree in his garden in Brittany and I'm always able to bring back home so many kilos of apples. He only keeps some for eating and never does anything with the rest. They keep quite well in the refrigerator, as you said, but I also use them to make chunky compote or jelly by adding them to quince. I also make crumbles or use them in recipes with pork. The cuisine of Normandy likes adding cider and:or apples to their recipes made with pork chops or other cuts of pork.
The process of extracting the juice was most interesting to watch.

Thank you once again Ruth I appreciate all your content. I've always wanted to make apple cider and I thought that it would be very involved difficult and something I couldn't possibly do at home. And thank you for the knowledge that we can just freeze it It doesn't have to be canned. You are such a wealth of knowledge to me and I really appreciate you. Please keep all your wonderful recipes coming I've printed the apple goodie recipe also and cannot wait to try it. Hoping You're feeling better soon and looking forward to next weeks video❤
