Finally uploaded a studio version of this wonderful song for all my fellow t&s fans. Made a little slideshow as well :) hope you enjoy!

My fav Tegan and Sara song when it came out and 20+ years later, it’s still my fav.
Every time i listen to this song it always hits close to home (emotionally)! anyone else have the same thing i am feeling?

This has always been one of my favorite Tegan and Sara songs
It's too bad you didn't get to see them when they were out your way. They played in Asbury Parkl, NJ a few years ago before I knew about them and I'm hoping they come back to this area soon. If they play in New York I'll definitely go see them there. I'm glad y ou are a big fan too. That's great!

I am so glad you uploaded this. I'm a big fan of T&S and enjoyed this alot. I'm glad you are a big fan of theirs also. I've never seen them live but I want to the next time they are on tour and come around. Their songs are just so unique I think.

Wow, that part really stood out to me, especially since I can't swim to even save myself and I actually was about to drown once, not metaphorically. You'd think that I would actually learn how to swim, so I could save myself the next time if it happens again, but instead, I just stay away from deep water.
Tegan and Sara said on The Con DVD that before that album, the vocals for each song had only been recorded by one of them, they never sang in the same song on the studio albums. Live, obviously, they did sing the different parts in each other's songs. So if I'm right in thinking Tegan wrote this song then she sang it all; if the parts sound different it will just be because they were recorded at different times.
It is Definitely Sara second! After you listen to them over and over again for 3 years you can gather who is who singing =)

I too am a very weak swimmer.. It's funny because I was born at home so I'm supposed to be a 'water baby', yet I've always had a tremendous fear of deep water. Maybe it's not good for one's first conscious moments to be of drowning in a bathtub... Or maybe we both drowned in previous lives and the fear of water somehow carried over to this one :o In any case, I'm content being a land mammal for now :)

I almost drowned when I was little. Life flashed before my eyes. Haven't been swimming since really. Can't even see when water gets in my eyes.

Up until recently, they didn't collaborate on writing their songs. But they both have always come together for performing them.
This should've been used for an epic movie trailer.
Their early stuff seems to be very Ani Difranco inspired.. which makes me incredibly happy! Even though I love all of their stuff :)

@kemplerbrave Yes I am a huge tegan and sara fan. and I would love to see them live as well, I watched the trailer for 'get along' and saw they put on an intimate little show in my hometown of Vancouver, and that I missed it... I nearly wept. N yes you are very welcome. :)

most all of "heartthrob" is realy good, its more pop-y. but all of there stuff is AWESOME!!!!
In relation to who sings what part in which song. In all albums before The Con the writer of the song sang both main and back up separately and the tracks get put together in studio. The other sister only sang backup during live performances. Once again, this is pre-Con.
Who cares who is actually singing, they are awesome!!!

Haven't you seen The Con DVD? They only sing together when they are live. On albums, it's just whichever one wrote the song that sings.
It's Tegan, just google it. You'll get a list of all the songs and which one of them is the "main" singer in each!

Whoa, maybe we were drowned in a previous life. o.o I don't mind bathtubs, though, do you mind them? By the way you said "weak swimmer" it tells that at least you tried to swim, I barely even gone to my local pool anymore and I kinda/not really learned how to swim. I'm content with being a land animal, too. lol I also don't like the ocean. Maybe we were on the Titanic in a past life?
