These men may be from a different culture but they are very wise. I think the most powerful thing in this video is the empathy and heartfelt caring they had for a young girl and her mother. These are real men. Protectors of the innocents and of faith.

Say not you specifically but someone like you existing one moment then not. Imagine for a moment Hell is here/somewhere in reality. You but not really you blink and all of a sudden you er someone else looks around confused. Well let's just call him Bob. Bob's bewildered can't remember what happened a few moments before or how he got there wherever there is. Then suppose for a moment Bob feels a tapping on his shoulder. Turning around reveals the former angelic visage of Lucifer Morningstar twisted into what can only be described as demonic.
*Smiling we will just refer to him as Samuel Lucifer Morningstar, The Devil, Ruler of Hell who was the one being closest to God until God created and love for us drove a wedge between these two celestial beings. Creatures who after forever God just decided to create and gift small things like free will and unconditional love.*
Well now for a moment imagine that the Devil, Ruler of Hell got his hands on what's his name again? Um oh wait a minute I remember Bob. After Bob turns around confused Samuel Lucifer Morningstar slaps him across the face. Then the Prince of Lies grabs Bob by the hair on top of his head, which is there even if Bob became bald later in life and drags Bob's worthless soul down to... well you know where. Most likely I'm full of it I know. Some may not believe in the Devil but that doesn't matter if the Devil believes/hates all of us because God loves us more than he did the closest to him before we came along. I've had a few beers and I am messing around. Probably won't remember what I typed. Just thought I'd share some BS that's been rattling around in my cranium.

I had to smile when they were more horrified by the medical treatments than by the possession and the exorcism.
They probably go to Dr Tahir. Don't blame them
Yes! As an RN for over 30 years, the medical stuff is mundane for me. I don’t think twice about it, because I know what’s going on. These guys have no idea what they are doing, so for them, it’s scary.

When the movie came out. The audience felt the same way
I haven’t laughed so hard in a while. I feel like this is as close to seeing someone from 1973 seeing it for the first time. I love how the villagers were amazed they had telephones back then.
Most people in the world had not made a phone call back then. it wasn't until cell phone networks were set=up, which are cheaper and easier to set up than landline wires, that phones became available to many people in developing countries.
telegraphs were still being used up till the late 80s for a reason. only first world countries had vast telephone networks and even in rural areas it took decades for the tech to get upgraded from say party lines
Religious Americans in 73, you really think most too it for real? It was sensationalist horror.
He guy in the middle looks like lurch from addams family. He seems cool. He made me laugh alot
@toomanyaccounts yes. The area my family is from didn't get "touchtone" phone service till the 90s. It always amused me going from our "push button" phone in Ohio to the rotary phone at my grandmother's house. And she had a party line. 😅
I have seen this movie several times and the last time was a few months ago and it still gives me goosebumps.
It is a film that does not age.
It's a film for people who appreciate good film making. Even if much of the graphic content was removed it would still be a high quality film. Can't say that about many current horror films that depend solely on the special effects and would fall apart without them.

I have seen a lot of reactions to The Exorcist, and this was a very good one. The three gentleman showed great empathy and respect for the characters involved. Frankly much more so than quite a few westerners that i have seen watch this movie. And of course they knew intuitively what was going on and what needed to be done. This reaction was a credit to them.

Man, these guys are so pure hearted and just radiate a heartwarming innocence which is so authentic and refreshing to see. Love them, need to see more of them.
You eloquently expressed what I was thinking. Thank you.
Because these men are close to God. Here in the West we have fallen away from God. The closer we grow away from God the worse Everyone and everything becomes. We are witnessing this now in this era.

"I have been to church once, there was so much peace that there is no desire to come back" - Babu
I need this on a T-shirt :D
I am very moved by the compassion for the innocent girl you three brothers have shown. Too often the afflicted are blamed for their condition and your responses to this horrible story show that.
That's so true, they really were very sympathetic to the girl, her mother, and everyone else.
I love how compassionate the villagers are
Fascinating to watch this reaction....they understood completely what was happening and how to solve it.
Really??? What reaction were you watching? Once again, we had, know it all, Babu, claiming that no one else but him knows what they are talking about. They actually believed that the doctors were experimenting on her instead of attempts at a diagnosis. They talked about how much money per hour the laborers were making. They actually believe that this shit is real. I watch a lot of reactions from people all over the world. When Babu is involved, it always goes to Babu thinking he needs to school everyone else. They never just shut up and watch the movie, he just makes stuff up out of nowhere. He will see a new person and immediately decides how people are related to each other in the first 5 seconds with no context. I think the others are there to learn but Babu shows up to use his power as an elder to teach everyone else, which would be fine if he had the slightest idea of what he is talking about. I just don't like Babu, he never shuts the fuck up.

Another great reaction to a classic. I recommend 'The Omen' (1976) to add to your list of Horrors

I love the tall guy expressions and face. He should do movies. He have such unique features!
Oh wow, I’m so surprised to see this. But now that I think about it, I think this will be an amazing reaction full of insights as these men always share deep wisdom. This movie used to really bother me, but I love and appreciate it. That started with analyzing the music compared to other horror scores and i suddenly realized how hopeful it is. Later I learned how this coincides s with the original author’s intention. I love the artistry of this movie and I can’t wait to see this.
It's amusing to see how these provincial guys grasped, despite the film being in a foreign language, the hypocrisy & atheism of the psychologists & psychiatrists when facing the supernatural.
The commentary they made at the end was very wise!
@@fyrchmyrddin1937considering its in the 1970s there no hypocrisy and or atheism in it at all. To believe in Anything but science in the 20s century is a sign of stupidity and would get you fired instantly in the western world. How ars you gonna be taken seriously if you bring up all this devil nonsense from the get go ? You want you collages to take you serious and not a loon from the 1500s. Also the term atheist is by definition as pointless word. It means a person that don't believe in gods of any kind. That's just an intelligent scientific person. You can't use words for people that don't belive in the Smurfs or Superman. So why use it when you dont belive in something so stupid that most thinking people has gotten rid of it. To not belive in god is just a sign of intelligence, nothing else. They would be called a normal person in most of Europe. Stop giving sans people titles for not believing in your nonsense. We dont belive in Orcs and Hobbits either. And it's the same crap, so leave the names for sane people at the door please.. 😊
These men made me laugh so much, but I also appreciated their wisdom.
At 8:10 they are playing with a Ouija board. It's a game that is supposed to let you communicate with the dead or spirits. Everyone puts their hand on the planchette, and you ask the spirit questions. Then the spirit will move the planchette to letters or numbers on the board to answer that question. Most people just view it as a silly game for children and don't take it seriously at all. However, some Christians do take it seriously and believe it is actually dangerous to use, since it could summon an evil spirit or demon. My mother never would have allowed a Ouija board in our house.
Ouija boards open a door. This is well known in the Exorcist world.
Never play with the dead

@@ronaldwilliams4954 Thanks man.
I wonder after seeing this movie, if any of them suffered from nightmares. When this movie came out, many people were terrified by it. At the time, this was considered the most frightening movie to ever come out. Some people went absolutely crazy while watching this film. One man actually attacked the screen, many people became sick and tossed their cookies, and at many theaters, people were fainting, and ambulances had to be called in.
This movie came out in 1973, but the special effects were amazing to witness. There were no computer graphics during that time. This was created only using the imagination, tricks, spit, and hard work, real talent, and determination to create something from nothing. The only other movie I can think of, during the time of no computer graphics, that is its equal would have to be The Thing. Sadly, we seemed to have lost something from those days of raw talent and endless imagination. Movie making has gotten so lazy now; where vision, creativity, clever wit and originality is withering on the vine no longer nourished by fluid imagination.
Vampires, Werewolves, Mummies, and even Zombie movies could not compare to The Exorcist, in Sheer terror this movie gave rise to. In my opinion, it would take decades before another film came out that was its equal in a Perfect Storm of Terror, and that would be Paranormal Activity. Both of these films are such a joy to watch during Halloween. Anyways, I hope these Villagers enjoyed the Exorcist and do not suffer from PTS syndrome from viewing it. I do get a kick out of their reactions. Blessed Be Fellows.
I'm just about old enough to remember when this movie was new: I saw a somewhat censored version of the original cut on network TV back in the early '80s. It really was pretty strong stuff at the time, and still packs a wallop even 50 years later for people who've seen it multiple times.
There's plenty of uncomfortable body horror to go around in this movie, and the practical special effects for things like levitation and head-spinning aged really well, still delivering shocks to the audience well into the CGI era.
But, besides the jump-scares, split-pea-soup vomit, spider-crawling, head-spinning, and other overt horror elements, there are subtler psychological horror elements being played with masterfully in the movie, some of them are things that modern film makers probably couldn't get away with today.
For example, as I understand it, Regan's bedroom set was built in a way that it could be kept almost ice-cold: you can see characters' breath in various scenes and so on and that works to help suggest something supernatural was going on, but the main point was to keep the actors on edge and fray their nerves; the film-makers apparently also would sometimes wait for quiet moments on the set to set off air horns and blank cartridge pistols to scare the living daylights out of the cast. The actors' nerves were completely frayed while performing their scenes, and their discomfort really comes through in the film, even when we don't consciously notice it: it's contagious, and hard for the audience to feel comfortable while watching it!
See Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds' for a similar effect (actress Tipi Hedron apparently had a nervous breakdown during the filming of that movie after being harassed by Hitchcock, kept in isolation from everyone else, and then being subjected to armloads of live birds being thrown into her face for hours of reshoots!), or Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining' (actress Shelley Duvall was apparently similarly tormented by Kubrick while being yelled at through hours and hours of unnecessary repeated reshoots of the same scenes, until her nervous breakdown as a result could be caught on film for its realism: apparently her tears while holding a baseball bat and talking to her husband after discovering his deranged "novel" were real, Shelley wasn't acting there, on her 127th take at that scene alone!)
I was old enough to remember 'The Thing' when it was first released, and it was rough on audiences in the '80s! My parents were both horror movie fans, my father a science fiction fan as well, and I grew up watching all sorts of horror movies, I've been watching them for longer than I can remember. I remember my parents were kind of upset about all the gore in 'The Thing' at the time, they figured it was far too gory for me to ever watch even once it got censored for network TV, and my father concluding that he preferred the 1950s original ('The Thing from Another World') by far. He lightened up on it, though, and within a few years came to enjoy both versions of the movie, and I did see it as a kid, censored for network TV. It might just be because I've seen it so often over the decades and have gotten used to it, but the special effects never really scared or grossed me out, that I can remember, and today they're weirdly charming by comparison to some of the more sterile CGI effects available today, in a similar way to how the man-in-a-rubber-mask-and-suit-with-a-zipper-in-back special effects of the original are charming and familiar, like old friends! (Weirdly, I fought the almost cartoonishly over-the-top gore effects from 1963's 'Blood Feast' more off-putting somehow than 'The Thing' - that violent 1980s reaction to 'The Thing' almost seems inexplicable to me now!)
Some others that I remember being shockingly gruesome or frightening for their time were 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' (the face-melting scene was pretty intense for the time!), 'Temple of Doom' (the heart-ripping scene struck my parents as being just a bit uncalled for at the time), and of course 'Alien'. Also, there are the rather amusing examples of the original 'Psycho' and the original 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre': 'Psycho' was before my time a bit, but was apparently similar to 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' in that audiences who originally saw it remember really gruesome scenes that were completely imaginary: both are weirdly bloodless slashers, with almost all of the gore and violence happening off-screen with clever editing that sort of leaves the audience to fill in the blanks by imagining more happening than they actually saw (there were viewers even in my lifetime that insisted they saw more nudity, stab wounds, and blood in that famous shower scene than were actually filmed!)
There were also actually lots of really gory cult movies out there in the 60s and 70s that I don't remember any mention of which could easily put those movies to shame (again, see 'Blood Feast'), but for some reason, I just don't remember anyone complaining the way they did with 'Alien' or 'The Exorcist' or whatever - I guess it depended on which audiences managed to draw big enough audiences to shock enough people into complaining :D
Yeah and the movie even got banned I think 💀
@pietrayday9915 Oh, I forgot to mention Alien. I'm so glad you brought that up. The Alien was a masterpiece in its creation. I was always watching movies that dwelt with aliens. If memory serves, I believe it was created by H. R. Geiger. In fact, I bought his paintings that were under the title, Necronomicon. His paintings were both amazing to look at and terrifying to behold. I swear, I actually believed his work was created by a Madman. He did this thing where he fused flesh with inanimate objects together to create a Nightmarick world. I actually believe that if Hell really existed, then this is how it would look. Sadly, I lost his paintings somewhere in time. I really enjoyed hearing about your parents. What wonderful people to be raised by. And for those of us, who grew up in the 70's, were treated to amazing music and films that were the cutting edge of a bygone era. My nephews have often said, "You guys in the 70's were Spoiled with the music & films that came out during that time. You don't know how fortunate you were." And they are Right. We were Blessed with artists in all the fields that would take chances, try new things, and push the limits of their own creativity. Yes, what a marvelous time to live in.

So! TRUE!
I love these guys! They are so kind. They were always worried about the child! The man on the left made me laugh when he said” I will make my wife go to the bathroom with me!” I was cracking up! I saw this movie years ago and it scared me so bad I slept with the lights on for 2 weeks
This is one heck of a movie to show these gentlemen! 😮🎥 Did you show the Director's cut?
Absolute masterpiece.
yes this was the version with restored footage
👍💯
The directors cut is great. But the original cut is better. More importantly, the original ending is better where the priest walks away alone. The directors cut with the priest and detective is too cosy and chummy. The original, gently sombre ending with the tubular bells music is perfect and should be left untouched. Perfect film.
I was not expecting this. Showing Exorcist to villagers that have not seen it before for the first time! These men from entirely different cultures understand better of what's happening in the film than many other reactions to the same film. Their reactions are truly honest and on their sleeves but what moved me was their empathy to the characters in the film, from the child, mother, priest just to name a few. Their comments really resonates from the fact that people these days because of the progress in science don't believe in God. Like what the man on the left said "...there is a limit to science but there is no limit to these evil souls". They even showed true appreciation of the actors in the film particularly Linda Blair for portraying her character from innocent child to tormented possessed. Throughout their viewing, they were respectful to the characters and accurate of the plot. Their physical reactions to some scenes are pure gold and just icing on the cake. It just shows that despite cultural differences, we all share common ground where the occult is concerned. The best honest reactions I have seen in a long time.
The lesson of this movie is this, don't play with those spirit boards as they are portals and when opened have to be closed by someone that knows how to. Otherwise, you get this in your house.
You guys are great! Love your videos. ❤keep up the great work!
Great reaction. It was interesting seeing them react to this movie and how they could relate to the theme so well.
The Ouija board is believed to be a method by which a person can become possessed by a demon. I know my cousin said he started hearing voices after he played with a Ouija board. I am sure I played with such a board but nothing ever happened to me.
That old priest is Max Von Sydow and he is actually about 45 in this film. He is a great actor that came out in a lot of movies and only recently passed away.
What is sad is that people take movies like this so seriously that they think that what happens in them happens in real life and that it backs up superstitions that they already have. Their reactions are great to watch, but I hate that some, like this one. reinforce terrible religious thinking. People should be learning better by now. This is a STORY, that's all. There are no ghosts, spirits or demons and people need psychological care, not exorcisms that DO kill people.
@@paulagwhyte1720 You have no clue. Read the books from Garbiele Amorth.
You are correct, Quija boards can be a start. That is well known by Exorcists.
@@paulagwhyte1720 Psychological care from quacks who tell you you are attracted to your mother....
Must be a big business prescribing drugs to people for any little thing.
@@paulagwhyte1720 I remember being like you. Wishing you the best so you can stay that way.
This was one of five horror classics I suggested to them on their patreon
21:21 - Get ready for the face on the right! 💀 When the power returns, it's Pazuzu!
These guys have such an amazing take on things. And they interpret with such depth.
This was one of five horror classics I suggested to them. The others were Wes Craven's Wishmaster. Steven Spielberg's Poltergeist. Clive Barker's Hellraiser. John Carpenter's The Thing
I think they nailed it
Wow yea I would love to see their reaction to Poltergeist and The Thing
Yeah I mentioned this was based on a real occurence and deaths but now you mention it, poltergeist was so real that most cast is dead now from many different circumstances not to far from after filming till date.
@@ul2wise4u Craig Nelson, the mother, the boy are still alive
I wonder what their reaction would be to comedy/horror? Something like "Tucker and Dale vs Evil". 😅
far better movies exist than that
Yes! I've been waiting for this one!
These gentlemen are wonderful. Their perspectives are truly fascinating. Thanks!
I’ve stood over that stones stairs in Georgetown where the priest died. Believe me when I say, it’s even creepy during the daytime
This is the most terrifying movie for me i saw it as a young boy and I still get the creeps from it, let not the visions of the evil one cause any to stumble and forget that God is the Almighty being who is life. Peace to all of you, I hope that your next movie will be a happier one.
My mom saw this in her teens and hasn't slept with the lights off since. She's 67 now.
I told her imagine telling your younger self "if you watch that movie you'll sleep with the lights on for the rest of your life."
This Movie will always put chills down my spine. What makes it more scary is that it's actually Based on a true story.
Based on a 14 year old boy in 1949..
For rural villagers who believe in the existence of demons and ghosts etc this would be a very scary movie. Very different to someone from the west who is used to watching graphic gory horror films. What about a musical film like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, or The Wizard of Oz, or My Fair Lady?
For a musical Singin in the Rain
There are still plenty of people in the west who believe in these things. Humans have this self-centered habit of doubting things exist when they haven't experienced them personally, especially when things are far outside of the "normal." But there are so many things outside of what's normal or common, that still happen all the time.
If you follow any sort of religion, you must believe in the supernatural. If you follow any superstition, believe in bad or good luck, any kind of alternative medicines, big foot, aliens, conspiracy theories, or even quantum theories - it's all having faith in something outside of common experience that is unproven.
And one of the men said he'd personally had an experience with exorcism. 🤷♀️ Who are we to say he's wrong.
I think the movie still holds plenty of horror for western audiences, at least the ones who can admit they don't know everything.
I disagree. My family is from a third world country. Nothing scares them. To them black magic was something to stay away from done by neighbors. But because they grew up religious they believe evil cannot harm or scare them due to faith.
It's fascinating to see the different reaction culturally. In the U.S. very few people would assume this was a possession, they would assume it was a medical problem (like a brain tumor) causing behavioral issue or the first appearance of a psychiatric problem. We can't just go see an exorcist. It's a particular branch of Christianity that believes/performs exorcism, and only certain authorized people can complete it, and only with the permission of the highest church leaders. If you aren't a member of the Catholic Church, it would be very hard to even get them to speak to you about the situation at all.
There are exorcist in other branches of Christianity but the Catholics have had the most focus. You can find pastors and experienced laypersons in the Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, even the Amish/Mennonites have religious leaders that specialize in such matters. All of the reputable church leaders require the person to be exorcised to have had all mental and physical possibilities explored before they will take on the task.
The guy on the left is every horror writer and director's dream viewer. He is totally getting into it. His reactions are the best.
I love how all cultures are different, but were all practically the same people having different experiences, just in different skin suits. Most human beings want the same thing. A loving family, a safe family and work to have the things that will provide safety and comfort for our familes!🙏
Oh why did you do this to these sweet men? How about The Wizard of Oz or something like that? 😫💜😫
Should let them do a reactio on "The Evil Dead (1983)"
I am fascinated by the ways in which these wonderful reactors' worldviews seem fairly consistent among the generations represented and the ways in which they seem to have changed over time.
This was wonderful. Seeing the movie in someone elses eyes. These gentleman were very funny some of the time. Thk u.
the tall guy men is looking like the Lurch from Addams family if i was a director and i was making a reboot i will give that role with close eyes to that tall guy
Me too man 😂😂😂
"I'm going to have to take my wife with me to the toilet later" 😂
The Catholic Church sent priests to help make the movie accurate. The man who acts as Father Dyer was a real priest.
This was awsome. Lots of respect for these guys.
Exceeded my expectations !! 😂 The tag-line for this movie could have been way ahead of its time, >>> "May the force NOT be with you ! " (the evil force) 😉
More scared of Badash's blood pressure now.
I LOVE seeing more people for the movie, together. Hopefully, the new microphone is helpful ❤❤❤
Sending love to you and your families from Orlando, Florida, USA

One guy was "clucking" when scared, joy over family love, was wholesome. Explaining that the battle between good & evil is real. And their lovely manners, waiting their turn hearing each other out. They were wise & loving, this was fascinating
Well done guys for getting through the film. Not easy for some
You got that right it really wasn't easy for some and I can say I was one of those that it wasn't easy at all LOL
I'm not sure going down the horror movie route is the right choice for these guys.... I mean let them decide for themselves after watching this, but I just get the feeling after watching them review a ton of films, that it really won't be for them.
they did Nightmare on Elm Street on the patreon
Yeah, I worried it might be a bit intense for them in a few different ways besides the satanic and gross-out elements, and really effective psychological and body horror elements - I mean, the strong language, that infamous crucifix self-abuse scene, and so on are pretty strong stuff!
These gentlemen seemed to handle it well enough and I enjoyed watching an edited version with my mother when I was about 10 years old back in the early '80s, but for more casual viewers, this movie seems to me like it would be quite intense even 50 years after it was originally made, and it's not the sort of thing I'd recommend to anyone but well-seasoned horror fans.
My hats off to these fellows for toughing it out, and I really felt for them while their hearts went out to the Regan character as she underwent some ghastly Hollywood medical horror special effects, and then began praying for her as the supernatural horror intensified. Hopefully it wasn't too traumatic for them!
They not sisses like modern canadian men.
@@jameshoffa7085 Really? Sissy? 'That' is your insult? At least when I trigger other trolls they give a shit enough to actually try....
Man i just subscribed to you i love the villagers they are the coolest reactors. I had such a blast seeing their reactions it is something new and a breath of fresh air in the reaction community. Thanks guy's 👍
I was genuinely concerned for the little elderly man a few times. But I really enjoy these guys. I wonder where they are from....India?
@@rt3593 I'm not too sure where they're from but they're awesome. Yeah the old man was shocked and terrified their reactions were priceless.
I love seeing different cultures reacting to each others entertainment.
I am worried that these innocent villagers will not be able to handle such a scary and shocking horror movie as The Exorcist.
That's not paternalistic at all!
I disagree; provincial people aren't in love with the smell of their own flatulence, which was the underlying theme regarding psychiatry in the initial part of the movie.
@@fyrchmyrddin1937 interesting, I have to watch the movie now.
You should show them 'Repossessed' some time. The Leslie Neilson spoof of the Exorcist. Now that they've seen this, they'll get the references.
I absolutely loved this!
I just kept saying to myself they have no idea what’s coming each step of the way!
Just discovered This channel and This reaction was the best yet to this masterpiece of a movie!
