Great Audio Quality!
Can't think of many bands who sound this good live
you said it!
Mind blowing performance!! I haven't in my lifetime heard such a great tight beat and outstanding artists!! WOW!
one of the best SM performance ever heard. Thanks Art & Talk
+Giuseppe Brizzi You are most welcome! Thanks and all the best.
thanks a lot
Simply amazing. Sound like very well. This is the sound I like of Simple Minds! Thank once another one again Art & Talk
Hi Max!
I love the early Simple Minds too.
I used to have the bootleg of this concert on vinyl - "The Best Years Of Our Lives".
Soon as I aquired this version I dumped the crappy vinyl one.
The difference is night and day!
All the best and thanks again.
P.S. Wonder if they'll ever do "Here Comes The Fool" again?
I live in Italy. I am 44 years old. I saw Simple Minds in concert 4 time, 1984 - 1989 - 2002 - 2010. I adore the first Simple Minds because they are very simply as music. I want to tell you that Simply Minds, for me, have the lyrics & sound better . Do you understand, I hope!
Good evening Max.
I understand you perfectly.
I too have seen them live over the years beginning at Tiffany's, Glasgow 1982.
I do envy anyone that seen live before this date, still we got the amazing "5X5 Tour".
They have had many good line-ups over the years but the first one and the first 5 albums are the best!
I'm sure even Jim & Charlie would agree.
All the best.
You are the best. Don't stop to put music of Simple Minds. You have bootleg very rare to find, believe me.
Thank you very much Max.
Glad you are finding the channel interesting. That's what it's all about.
I shall keep it going as long as people like yourself like it!
All the best, my friend.
Wow ... thanks fir sharing ...not heard this for ...well decades had a crappy vynil bootleg copied to tape sounded well CRAPPY! this sounds great thanks for uploading! 👍👍
that was by far their best period!!!!!!
Yeah. I think the next tour just before recording S&F they were really at their peak. Should never have let the drummer leave. They were never the same after that.
Always why the studio recording of Room was so short....this gig is awesome.
What a brilliant gig
The best live band thanks Jim Charles Mike Derek simple minds
These gigs are amazing
Love the auld minds and the new stuff mon the minds 40 year's of brilliant music
The only band etched across my heart..life time love affair
Cooooooolllllll
Very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!😉
The ending bass line of Pleasantly Disturbed reminds me The Stranglers
Exceptionnel!!!
Io stavo li ...❤️
Great
Top, dankjewel. Betere kwaliteit dan de apeldoornGigant, maar wel wat minder bevlogen.
Hi Art & Talk,
I saw Simple Minds on 29th March 1980 in the Paradiso.
On 23rd March 1980 I think they played in the Melkweg in Amsterdam.
Do you know whether the recording was made in the Melkweg or the Paradiso?
I can't remember the exact set list. Nevertheless a great concert.
All the best!!
Hi there,
Thanks for that info. Doing a bit further research you are most definitely right! Like countless fans we list this as the Paradiso but it is Melkweg. Jim even mentions about playing the Paradiso next time. I just assumed he had taken too much 'medicine'!
Anyway I'm very jealous of you seeing them live back then. Must have been amazing!
Thanks and all the best,
A&T
Wow, what a great memory! I was at Paradiso too then. Still have visuals of the concert and this sounds right like it, but actually...ha! Thanks :)
floris frieswijk I think, Mecano was the opening act.
11.55 ´this is the first time in Amsterdam´ :-)
Don´t you, wasn´t on the setlist?
This predates that by about 5 years
Minds of the early period are incomparable- yes they hit the big time but lost their creativity and drive(maybe no coincidence about the time of Forbes departure)
