Joe grew up less than an hour from me. I believe New York Mills, near Utica. I live in Syracuse, NY. We used to have an event called Party In The Plaza on Wednesdays in the summertime. He played one time when he was 13 years old and absolutely blew me away. I actually had him sign a one dollar bill-which I accidentally used to pay for gas later! LOL. Just incredible!
This is, without question, one of the greatest blues performances I have ever seen. Beth's singing and Joe's lead guitar solo are at the very highest blues level on the planet today. "I'd Rather Go Blind" was originally a hit for Etta James way back in the 1967-68 era and was recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama with the famous "Swampers" musicians, all of whom were from the local area. They produced and recorded so much great music that simply dominated the rock and blues charts up until the 1980s. Thank you for your honest and open reaction to what is now a classic blues performance by Beth Hart, Joe Bonamassa and the entire band, This sets the standard for great blues, no question about it. 🎙🎸👌💖👀
300? That’s so funny. Probably closer to 1,500. He says he sees himself not as the owner, but the curator and caretaker of all his instruments. An amazing human being with humility and grace.
You absolutely got it Dominika when you said Joe Bonamassa played that guitar in the same way the brilliant Beth and her emotional feelings are embedded in the song.
I have watched this video hundreds of times. I consider it to be the greatest performance of all time. It is a flawless communication of emotion, both from Beth's vocals and Joe's guitar. These two performers are masters of their craft, and when they team up the result is always magical. When you revisit them, you should check out their performance of "I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU" ruclips.net/video/nW3OrLHj0lQ/видео.html, live at the Beacon Theater. We all need more magic in our lives.
What a magnificent combo; Joe’s guitar talks and Beth’s heart wails. They are poetry in motion. I felt every cord vibrate through my being like hot steel. What a Song performed by two musical geniuses blending together for perfection.🎉🎉🎉
Joe was indeed born with a guitar in his hand, he is a true child prodigy on the guitar. He was playing with his father professionally at age nine and toured and opened for BB King during his summer vacation from middle school at age twelve. He like BB King used his shows to showcase other blues artists to his audiences. There are so many great songs with Joe that it's impossible to list them all. One thing you notice right away is that Joe surrounds himself with world class musicians.
Thank you for the reaction. Your analysis was spot on. Another great example of her powerful voice is "Caught Out in the Rain live at the Royal Albert Hall.
Everything about this performance is incredible, soul touching. But every time I’m so struck by the way Joe is able to match Beth’s phrasing, intonation and emotionality. It’s just such an extraordinary thing to witness this moment 🙌🏻
This song was first made popular by Etta James, many years ago. Beth has done several covers of songs by Etta James, and nobody does that better than Beth. Joe and Beth worked together for several years and released a number of collaborative albums. They are all pure fire. Joe is an amazing musician and singer in his own right. I am looking forward to my fourth time seeing him live next month. Every time I have seen him, he gets better. It just doesn't get any better than this.
I could see the emotions in your sweet and kind wife's eyes during this song. Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit, and so many women carry the scares from broken hearts or romances that were lies from their youth; they can understand a song like I'd Rather Go Blind in ways that are so touching. Thank you for your wonderful comments and hard work bringing us wonderful music.
Joe & Beth are THE King and Queen of the Blues!! Theres another collab that they did that I Like even more "I`ll Take Care of You" is an absolute must! If you want to REALLY see just how Powerful Beth`s voice is checkout "Am I the One"!! Yes Dominica, Joe pretty much was Born with a Guitar in his hands...at the Age of 12 he was sharing the Stage with the Legend, B.B. King, the man that many say is The Father of the Blues!
As soon as I saw this reaction in my notifications I knew I had to watch it. This is an incredible performance, and I had a feeling you'd both appreciate it very much. Pure talent. Another great reaction guys ♥
Joe and Beth are fenomenal, and I completely agree with your wife, Joe plays the guitar with the same profound feeling and depth that Beth sings, always gave me goosebumps❤️Please if you can, react to Tami Neilson….You were mine. Thanks, you are a beautiful couple!
Thank for video .I knew, like almost everyone,it is one of my favorites! I cry every time I hear this piece. Since I listen and see Beth I am crazy about her and her bands. She has it all, anger, pain, aggression, love, sensuality, sweetness, silences that speak. Oh I don't get tired every day of listening to her!!! Love da Roma!
I only discovered Beth and Joe a little over three years ago, when I found this video. From it I went to their performance of "I'll Take Care Of You", and I was hooked. I didn't know I liked the Blues so much, but now I own 40 vinyl albums and 3 DVD's of them together and alone. I'm only missing two of Beth's albums, but Joe has been around a bit longer, so I still have a lot to get of his. You really should check out 'I'll Take Care of You', it's another brilliant performance.
Great review and Insight. You are exactly right when you said Joe played that with emotion.. He was playing with the same emotion as Beth sang, like they were having a conversation, one with words and the other with a guitar... This is one of the best videos I have ever seen. These two have done many songs together. I have several CD's and DVD's of these two.. I suggest you purchase some if you are able to do so.
I love the artistic choice to let her build in to this huge crescendo, then bring it down, and let him build up his own, so both parts end with the same high energy.
Beautiful….wonderful…..great singing, musicianship…everything. Adult music. No auto tune just wonderful. When I making Italian food or something on the weekend and baking bread, this is what I put on with a glass of wine and family coming over to eat. It doesn’t get any better.
Actually, yes, you could say that Joe was born with a guitar in his hand. His father owned a guitar store, and he was so accomplished by his early teens, before he was old enough to drive, he was touring with no other than B.B. King, the blues legend, and one of "The Three Kings".
Like Grandpa Mike said below, I've watched this hundreds of times, and I loved watching your reactions to these two phenoms. I've watched your reactions to Led Zeppelin and Nightwish, and others; I just really like the way you express when you experience musical greatness.
Great reaction as always! There are two female vocalist at the moment who are about the best in the game, Beth Hart and Floor Jansen! Please try ‘Caught out in the rain, live with Joe and Beth or the version in the Albert hall with her own band, amazing!
Great comparison and I totally agree that is it the hardest pain you can feel. I am not sure if it gets easier through life as we learn from our past feelings it must be.
Nice reaction, like that you made that comparison between her singing and his playing because they inspire each other. They're both great on their own but together it's Transcendent! You should check out I'll Take Care of You and Nutbush City Limit
When Joe Bonamass was 12 years old, he opened shows for BB King in 1989. Great content. Have s go at Led zeppelin live version of "The rain song". You will not be disappointed.
Joe started playing at 4. He says he doesn't remember a time he didn't have a guitar in his hands. Joe and Beth burn down the stage always. They recorded 3 albums. Check out "I'll take care of you" joe and beth at the Beacon Theater. Talk about sexy! They are both powerhouses! And the best of friends. That was Joe's band.
David Gilmour , Jools Holland and Mica Paris.......I Put A Spell On You David Gilmour , Rod Stewart , John Paul Jones ( Led Zep ).......In A Broken Dream Both songs are superb
My thoughts are with Beth Hart who is not in the best of health at the present time🙏💖🙏 A stunning performance from both both Joe and Beth as well as the Band
I truly love you guys, and I always enjoy your reactions they are so authentic! If you are not too busy, I would like you both to react to Bebe she has many beautiful songs that she wrights, like Malo,Siempre me quedara, Razones, Buscome, pick one! After the respect you both have for the art of song, I feel your knowledge of music will only be enriched! Thank you for how you both make me feel with your wonderful reactions!
Joe was a child prodigy. Been playing professionally since the age of 12. The two of them are PERFECTION together.
I was born in a slum in Birmingham UK in 1962, just round the corner from Ozzy Osbourne, never met him, but what an idol

Emotive
Such a powerful and passionate performance by these pure professionals. Bravo!
Nailed it. He plays like she sings.
It's a cover, but Beth kills it. Paired with Joe = lucky audience.
Beth ..... incredible voice and passion, Joe .... one of the best guitarists with a collection of 300+ guitars.
(11:02) "He played that guitar how she sang that song." YES!!! That's exactly what I always say! He mirrored her vocal performance on the guitar 👍😁
I have watched this video hundreds of times. I consider it to be the greatest performance of all time. It is a flawless communication of emotion, both from Beth's vocals and Joe's guitar. We all know that Beth and Joe are incredible, but your reaction is priceless.😻😻

Saw Joe live in London around 10 years ago and Beth came on stage as a "special " guest.......she and he were absolutely amazing that night.👏👏👏
Apart, they are amazing, spectacular, nigh godly even. Put them together, they are utterly magical.
Thank you for the reaction. Your analysis was spot on.
Another great example of her powerful voice is "Caught Out in the Rain live at the Royal Albert Hall.
☝🏼👍🏼 her best performance imo
Everything about this performance is incredible, soul touching. But every time I’m so struck by the way Joe is able to match Beth’s phrasing, intonation and emotionality. It’s just such an extraordinary thing to witness this moment 🙌🏻
Sometimes, you have to embrace , the butterflies. Great reaction.

This is simply perfection....
TWO singers on that stage!!
Love you guy's! This is an amazing song by amazing people.

Her voice + his guitar = the perfect storm
It’s the Blues you’re feeling 🤘🇺🇸
The entire show is spectacular
Beth & Joe together is absolute perfection. I would pay to see the two together for sure, overpay lol.
Great, great reaction. You understand.
This is : living the song
Beth is the Stevie Ray Vaughan of vocalists. Raw, soulful, passionate, powerful, and coming from someplace absolutely otherworldly.
I saw them do this live in the Palace Theater in Columbus, OH. What a great show that was!
He appeared with BB King when he was young (11 or 12). I saw him live a few years ago and it was amazing (unfortunately Beth was not on that tour).
Great Voice!! Great Guitarist! Great Track! Great Reaction!!!! Thank You so Much ✌✌✌ 🇦🇺
Thank you, thank you. Been waiting so long, I knew you would appreciate this performance.
Thank for video .I knew, like almost everyone,it is one of my favorites! I cry every time I hear this piece. Oh hell yeah. Beyond brilliant. Perfection. Thank you !
This got me emotional...I could feel her pain
So glad you got to this ! Keep going down the Beth Hart and Joe rabbit hole

Joe openening shows for the late great BB King aged just 12. Beth & Joe together is like planets aligning
She’s exactly right, “you not only hear it, you feel it.”
I have watched this video a hundred times, and I am as moved now as I was the first time. Thanks for sharing.
Now you're ready for "Caught out in the rain"
Wow. You both felt that one. One of the best reactions to this song that I have seen.
Joe is a child prodigy who grew into a virtuoso. He is the best blues guitarist on earth in my opinion. He has earned this title.
Joe Bonamassa, his band, and fantastic back up singers doing "Going Down" live at the Greek Theater tear the walls down.
Waking all the dead souls up honestly, what a beautiful, powerful thing out here
I love the artistic choice to let her build in to this huge crescendo, then bring it down, and let him build up his own, so both parts end with the same high energy.

WOW!!
I've watched Joe grow up with that guirar in his hands. He was amazing as pre teen, but has aged like a fine wine.❤
❤ Stimme und Gitarren Sound wie aus dem Himmel 😊
Great comments by both of you!
a great rendition of this beautiful Etta James song was done with the PFC band/ Clarence and Titi live in Australia
Actually, yes, you could say that Joe was born with a guitar in his hand. His father owned a guitar store, and he was so accomplished by his early teens, before he was old enough to drive, he was touring with no other than B.B. King, the blues legend, and one of "The Three Kings".
I was just thinking the other day you guys should do this song. And today you are doing it. Cool.
Well said!! You nailed it
There is hardly a song that has more emotion, i was there front row that night 👌
Great reaction I could see it in both your faces ❤️
That was the proper “stank face” for Beth and Joe!!
Well you need to hear Beth & Joe playing " Night Bush" and Joe and Jimmy Barns playing "Stone cold".
Of course, they are talented but - the originals - WOW!!!
Like Grandpa Mike said below, I've watched this hundreds of times, and I loved watching your reactions to these two phenoms. I've watched your reactions to Led Zeppelin and Nightwish, and others; I just really like the way you express when you experience musical greatness.
Fantastic song

YES! I agree! Joe said the same thing she said, he just used his guitar.
Great comparison and I totally agree that is it the hardest pain you can feel. I am not sure if it gets easier through life as we learn from our past feelings it must be.
Excellent reaction!
You have to listen to Beth's song called Caught out in the Rain live at the Royal Albert Hall. Gutsy, pain filled song
Nice reaction, like that you made that comparison between her singing and his playing because they inspire each other. They're both great on their own but together it's Transcendent! You should check out I'll Take Care of You and Nutbush City Limit

Now that you guys are hooked on Joe keep the saga going because you’re in for a treat from Joe.
Also do Nutbush City limits by Beth and Joe
You must check out their "I'll take care of you" live performance from The Beacon Theater".
I didn't think anyone but Etta James could do this song justice but I was wrong
You two are beautiful! Thanks for the reaction.
Thank you 💚
