I agree you need to just listen and quit jabbering 🤐😂
She has no choice, she has to pause or she'll end up losing her channel. Come on, we all know this by now.
@@remital6834 Agreed, but there is some solo etiquette to follow, she could have pause before of after to please the requirements, but instead she cut into it 3 times and spoke over it, no matter how important she thinks the comment is, it can wait til after the solo. This is what annoys the purists.
@@EricSavoie-dm9sw I hear you, but you have to take a step back and realize that you're watching a music video "reaction" channel (her channel). A "purist" can certainly watch the non reaction version with zero distractions.
"I'd Rather Go Blind" is a blues song written by Ellington Jordan and co-credited to Billy Foster and Etta James. It was first recorded by Etta James in 1967, released in 1967, and has subsequently become regarded as a blues and soul classic.
The original Etta James version is still my favorite.!!!
You are so genuine with your reaction and the way that you expressed with the song means to you in real-time where you're actually grooving the song
Pin this comment to the top of the messages, please! 🙏 🙏 🙏
@@coachmullen1 ☺️ thanks
I sincerely hope that you will trust me, that if I send you a link to an internationally-known artist named Danielle Nicole, that you will please please listen to it maybe do a reaction to her doing the version of this song which I think is far superior to Beth n Joe's version...
i never get tired of hearing this. her live performance of 'Am I the One' is just as great
Its even better i feel
@@katayfa 1,000% agree. That one gives me chills every time.
Beth and Joe are a dangerous combination. 🔥
Both Beth and Joe are individually, wonderful artists. When you get them together, they're incomparable. This whole Amsterdam concert was just as good as this one song was. Give yourself a treat. Find the whole concert here on RUclips and watch it! You won't be disappointed!
One of the best singers ever. How she is not more famous amazes me. She’s one of the best vocalists ever.
IMO the same can be said of Joe. That sweet telecaster adding in distortion at will is both a reflection of her singing style (in my opinion more Janis than Etta) and the rare ability to just realize all the potential sonic beauty of a specific instrument.
She deserves many more accolades. I'm sure you know, but for those who don't, Beth struggled with substance abuse early in her career which essentially derailed her popularity train. It's both a curse, and a blessing. Rather than getting a commercial version of her, we get the authentic version. I do hope she makes it big. Her voice has only gotten better over the years.
Beth is so good live. Her mic work is second to none.
Joe absolutely kills the solo
Absolutely!!!
After Joe's guitar solo look over Beth's right shoulder at Joe, notice his head bow to the drummer--he knows how good the solo was--lol
That was probably Mr.Anton Fig (the drummer) telling Joe that Magic happened. 😊
Beth is one of the best blues singer of our time. She puts so much energy into her songs.
I love how she builds her songs up. Then she sets the song on fire.
For a solo Beth performance that will blow you away... the live version of caught out in the rain. FYI Beth is considered one of the greatest if not the greatest female blues singer working today. Joe is considered one of if not the best blues guitarists working today. When they work together it's pure Magic. Joe was a child prodigy who opened for the legendary BB King at the ripe old age of 12!
This is the one I've been for. This is my favorite live performance of all time, and my litmus set test to see how good our reactor is. I haven't watched it yet but I'm sure you're going to love it! So here's your homework... First, Beth and Joe together"I'll take care of you". Next Beth at the Paradiso "Am i the one?". Then Joe " Mountain Time "
Joe Bonamassa has been playing blues guitar since he was a child. He opened for BB King when he was twelve years old
Was lucky enough to see B.B. In concert with Joe opening ,great concert
@@marvinboswell6889 🤩 WOW that must have been life changing. That would have been about 33 years ago. You must be old like me LoL. I saw BB King in Toronto at the Imperial Room in the Royal York Hotel in the ‘80’s. I can also remember seeing him for the first time on tv on the Phil Donahue show back in 1970. I was 15 years old at the time and I haven’t been the same since hearing “The Thrill is Gone”.
Yep was great then , now I'm 80 but still love music and follow Joe on RUclips now. Saw BB in concert 3 different times ,last time in Columbis SC at the township auditorium
My favorite musical performance of all time.
One of the best female blues singers and one of the best blues guitarists of the modern era. Beth Hart will simply move you.
Best version of this song , IMO. Beth is our new Janis - absolutely top 3 female singers for me 💙 Beth and Joe are both the best of their genre- but together they're magical . Joe was trained at 12 years old by BB King ❤ #BethHart
You absolutely need to view Am I the One live at Paradiso. It is arguably the greatest live performance of any I’ve ever seen. She gives new meaning to up close and personal singing this song sitting in the front row with fans
I knew Beth when she was 14 belting out Christmas carols in July. It was all there at 14.
I have the Blu-Ray of this concert. Beth is drenched in sweat as this was the final encore song of the show. She sang 20 songs before this. The whole show is incredible!
Joe can make a guitar shed tears. He has won so many Blues awards it's ridiculous. Beth is simply a vocal beast! The true power of music, it's ability to move you emotionally or to action. Love this. Live.
You got this one right Britt, Chris did use this melody as the basis for his cover of Tennessee Whiskey.
Not to mention both songs use the same chords. Tennessee Whiskey uses just A and Bm. Same with I’d Rather Go Blind but also throws an E near the end of each verse. Several reviewers have noticed similar feels. These chord progressions certainly add to that.
Beth and Joe did a number of albums together before this performance. They are all worthy of a listen and VERY bluesy. Nobody covers Etta James like Beth. That being said, Joe can sing too!! I have been blessed to see Joe live several times. And it is always a spiritual "go to church" experience. One of the best ever!! Thank God for people like these two who have made it their life mission to give us music.
She does a mind blowing version of Sam Cooke's A Change Is Gonna Come (Live at the Echoplex 2010)....definitely of the greatest singers ever....you should explore more Beth Hart
Beth hart, you belong to me. Live at keeping the blues alive cruise is awesome 😊
Thank you. She does remind me of Etta. In the bad old days when there was no money in music, even if you were a star, you could go and see Etta for a cover charge that was less than the cost of a beer, but she would still sing her guts out for the audience. When the snow was blowing outside, and the roads were nearly impassable, the five or six of us that would show up early in the week would sit at the bar with the band and hear stories about the abuse coming from the booking system that made it difficult for such great musicians to make a living. Albert's Hall in Toronto would book her several weeks per year. I would finish my nap and take the subway to the venue and meet friends or coworkers a few nights of the week. I would leave before the last act and get to be so that I could get to work by 5:30 am. After I put in my 10-12 hours, I would go and take the nap and do it again.
She once asked me if I was gay because one of the players noticed that I left before the 'red dress' or 'blue dress' ladies at my table. I had to explain that some of us had to work very long hours because we had mortgages that we were trying to get rid of before we could get married and start raising families. Being a young idiot, I never considered how insensitive that was. While the musicians appreciated the fans that showed up over and over again, some of us were able to earn a great deal of money than they could. The young guys I would go to see her with were not particularly well educated but were very skilled mechanically and worked at a place where they could work as much overtime as they wanted. Three or four years of sacrifice would set up a person for life and would mean a comfortable life. When Etta died, she had a net worth of about half that of the kids I used to see her with. In my case, I paid off that mortgage in six years and finally chose to find a good woman and raise a family that I would be with as much as I could. Many of the great players that entertained us remained broke and never got the chance at a life of stability that most of us have. Some of the bad outcomes were due to cultural and dependence issues, but a lot came down to the environmental conditions created by a system that had too much control over artists.
IMO, Beth is THE Reigning Queen of the Blues...followed close behind by Mahalia Barnes! Beth and Joe were born with a gift, Beth won Star Search when she was 17 years old ! And Joe, at the age of 11 was sharing the stage with Legendary Blues Guitarist BB King, playing his guitar. You should check them out together on "Ill Take Care of You" as well!!!
She is incredible, no words could I say could give her the recognition she deserves, perhaps my all time favorite singer now, I'll have to listen to more of her work before make that determination
Beth Hart does a great “a Change is gonna’ come”. Also Beth and Joe do “I’ll take care of you” (the Bomb}
Beth Hart is one of those women’s singers that can sing you your grocery list and it sound beautiful. She is so good at singing the blues and Joe Bonamassa player. He’s really really good in his own right
If Beth and Chris were to do a duet together, it might break RUclips! Two of the most soulful voices and both with that grit?? Would be amazing!
This performance mesmerizes me each and every time I watch it. Sheer perfection.
Absolute 🔥
This is one for "all time!"
Here’s the link for “Caught Out in the Rain”. ruclips.net/video/lzdJf7Hqttk/видео.html
You won’t believe what she can do with her voice!❤
Anything by Beth is a smash she and Chris Stapleton are definitely of the same caliber and absolutely would match well in a duet same soulful performances from both of them they are my favorite two artists .
Beth does one of the best covers of this song that was sung by Etta James. Beth Hart is an amazing signer songwriter and has her own band. She collaborated with Joe Bonamassa on this album and two others. Together they are magical. Joe makes his guitar sing and makes you feel it like Beth does singing, This entire concert is on video and amazing, You are correct in she is a physical performer and puts her all into every song. You should go way back, and check out Beth Hart "Am I the One" live at Paradiso (the live video) it is a must see performance. Keep on reacting to Beth. Love your reaction.
Yes I felt it, beyond out of this world crazy deep down in your soul super passionate unbelievable the blues, I love the line where it said I looked in my glass and saw my reflection and saw that I needed and loved you and I want you back soooooooo badly it's killing me, that's what I heard but the actual line was like that but I added to it I think 😊 the electric guitar rip was jewelry dropping perfect and mind blowing so full of soul 😊
After Joe's guitar solo look over Beth's right shoulder at Joe, notice his head bow to the drummer--he knows how good the solo was--lol
Absolutely epic performance!! She’s a jewel for sure
All I know is if I ever want to clear out my tear ducks this is one of the songs I need to listen to. No matter how many times I listen to this or one of the other versions it happens.
Joe Bonamassa used to open for BB King when he was young, starting at age 12. I think he has sold more blues albums than anyone in history. Check out Mountain Time. He sings about driving overnight to see his sweetheart, and she doesn't have long to wait. So good!
Great song, amazing singer, and Joe Bonamassa is an master of blues.
By the way, congratulations for the 100k! 🥂
I love Beth Hart! She does covers but a lot of her music is songs that she wrote. Some of them very personal like Sister Heroine and Leave The Light On.
You should check out Am I The One/Live at the Paradiso 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am in Rome, Italy and I listen to Beth every day. I know this piece and I keep listening to it and watch the video several times a day. She makes me crazy, cry, laugh , her voice is crazy Thank you for showing this beautiful piece.
Amazing performer.
I think you would like her performing "Caught out in the Rain" Live at Royal Albert Hall
He's scattering your brain with that guitar note
These two together are Absolute 🔥‼️ Easily my favorite duo of all time, every time I see them do a song together it completely blows me away! 🤯
oooh just clicked on this link and before even watching this, i know your going to love this, your onto the gold now Britt
The backing track for TN Whiskey is this song....Joe B was touring with BB King at age 12....one of today's best, elite Blues guitarists....check out their duet on "I'll Take Care of You" at Beacon Theater....
Listen to a bunch of her songs - she is always very believable! I have seen her live close up and she is a mesmerizing performer. I have the set list off of the stage from that performance at The Kessler in Dallas.
Beth Hart is great live. Seen her in both live and acoustic performances and she has given 110% every time. My favorite place to hear her was the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville ( original home of Grand Old Opry). She was a contestant on Star Search in the 90’s.
Thanks Brit !! That's one of the best live performances in my opinion. It just moves you. Whew ! Thanks
PURE SOUL!!
Love your reaction, as always !! This song was the second encore of a 10 song set. Beth and Joe seem to inspire each other and Joe's solo has to rank in my "Top Ten" ALL-TIME !!
Beth Hart is the singer. Joe Bonamassa is a famous blues rock guitarist playing with her. They did a live concert album and DVD in 2014 that this is from called Live in Amsterdam. This is the second to the last song out of 20 so yes, she's had a workout by this point. Joe was trained by virtuoso guitarist Danny Gatton (IYKYK) and opened for BB King at age 12.
Tina wrote another song they sang at this show, "Nutbush City Limits".
Beth does a song "Fire On The Floor" that just knocks me out. It's about a woman crying her physical passion for her man, and it will stop you in your tracks. Also, Joe did a concert a few years back in London. I think it it was called Joe Bonamassa At The Royal Albert Hall"
Did you know had opened a few shows for B. B. King when he was eight years old?
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Beth live, but I saw Joe Bonamassa live a few years ago here in Orlando, FL at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and he absolutely brought the mf'ing house DOWN! Best concert I've ever been to!
I've been waiting for you to do this one. THis performance is best i'ved ever seen.
Beth Hart conveys such emotion and passion with her voice. Joe Bonamassa can make a guitar sing, speak, or weep - one of the best guitarists on the planet. Check out "This Train live at the Sydney Opera House" - Joe will rock you right out of your chair.
Joe B. Started opening for B.B. King when Joe was only 12 years old here in Mississippi probably everywhere else too. Please react to more Joe. Thank You
"I'd Rather Go Blind" is a blues song written by Ellington Jordan with co-writing credits to Billy Foster and Etta James. It was first recorded by Etta James in 1967
She’s also one of those artists that when she singing the song she is the song she has that ability to become on stage what the song is really amazing and absolutely lover she sells out everywhere she goes
Beth and Joe performed this in the Kennedy Center Honors for Buddy Guy. The Obamas from Chicago were in the audience. Beth was also from Chicago. Watch the performance and see how they loved the performance,
That’s an eargasm right there!
That is why they are playing together. Beth is amazing and Joe is one of the best guitarists out today!!!!
What a great performance! Love it!
It’s called a 12 bar blues progression. Similar to millions of other exact same chord structures. But, it’s about how it is executed that sets apart the phenomenal from the average.
Congratulations on a hundred k.... Well deserved keep up the good work man that was fast...
This is one of the most legendary live performances ever!
Now we’re talking…….grown up, great vocals, amazing musicianship. No stage antics…….just great, great music. No auto tune or grinding or twerking. Kick back and enjoy. Heck yea.
This is just fire. Watched it at least 20 times
If I ever felt the need to have goosebumps, all i would need to do is to experience this .
Great reaction! Her ad lib was incredible and you heard it!
Your reactions are fun. Be Well , you and your family
Stellar performance!!
A beautiful reaction to a beautiful performance/song. Thank you.
You have been taken to church by two of the greatest! Mr. Bonamassa and Ms. Hart are unrivaled!
BETH DOES RIGHT BY THE GREAT ETTA JAMES!!! AND JOE IS OUTSTANDING!! THANKS FOR THIS REACTION BRITT....IT WAS WONDERFUL!!
Beth Hart's live at the paradiso is Stevie Ray Vaughn's live at the el mocambo. Am I the One live, I hope is your next reaction to her.
Beth Hart - Am I The One - Live At Paradiso.....will blow your mind!!!! She gets down in the front row and you will have to remind yourself that her vocals are doing this live!!!!
You should see her performance of "am I the one" live at the presario. Hella amazing
The origination of the music for the song, Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton.
Congratulation! You take EVERY Moment, when you shouldn't pause the Video to pause the Video! That was not an easy Task...
Yeah you are right about Tennessee Whiskey ! I had not realized it until you mentioned it
I was at her concert in February and she has an amazing voice.
The melody for tennessee whiskey was based on this song , beth performs songs , she doesn't just sing them
You are quite correct...whiskey and blind have the same chord progression...this version has an extra chord in there...Great reaction..
you should check out ''Am I the one'' live at Paradiso!!! Beth is amazing performer and her lifestory is heartbreaking!!!
Beth is outstanding.
Musical perfection! :)
Beth Hart is legend. Ive made a lot of love to her music.
I'd Rather Go Blind" is a blues song written by Ellington Jordan and co-credited to Billy Foster and Etta James
My favorite female vocalist ever ! And Joes one of the greatest guitarists that's ever been .
Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa are two of the most talented musicians in the blues rock world. Their music is a powerful combination of Hart's soulful vocals and Bonamassa's virtuosic guitar playing. They have released two studio albums together, Black Coffee (2018) and Don't Explain (2011), as well as a live album, Live at Royal Albert Hall (2013).
Hart's voice is a powerhouse, capable of great emotional range. She can belt out a bluesy number with the best of them, but she is also just as comfortable singing a tender ballad. Bonamassa is a master of the blues guitar, and his solos are always technically brilliant and emotionally charged.
When Hart and Bonamassa combined forces, the results were explosive. Their music is raw and passionate, and it always hits the mark.
Always love your reactions 😂
Soo funny and cute
Joe Bonamassa not only is a great guitarist, but he is a master of the stank face.
Hey Britt, have a little RESPECT....golden rule amongst reactors " do NOT interrupt guitar solos ".......
And not only that...
one of the best sensible reactions ever;
Great reaction, Brittany! Beth worked up this sweat from her performance on the song before this one. It was truly a performance to behold.
I agree with you that there are guitarists that tickle the strings, Joe makes his cry...
Yes, Tennessee Whiskey is a literal new lyrics, same melody cover of this, Etta James' I'd Rather Go Blind. Good catch.
The best of the best "I'd Rather go Blind. Ever 👍👍🇬🇷🇬🇷
This was fabulous!! Loved it! 😅
