Oh christ the screamin' seaman and caribou look like a recipe for a torn ACL! Looks terrifying
I was about to post exactly the same thing!
Do it only if you hate your knees ..
...and MCL, LCL PCL. Up side is that the meniscus will probably be ok
Looks stupid too!
5:00 me 'this seems so fun'
5:26 Jens 'it's not that fun'
Me 'well at least it's a new challenge
Haha thats the attitude :)
One needs to be am extremely good skier to do all these things, and jens, you really are an amazing (and underrated) skier when i watch you ski
To do all of them that is true so just use the hard stuff as something to asprie to do one day if it's within your comfort zone.
even if you are already a pretty good skier I think you have to push yourself to learn these things. Really impressive
Ski bobbing is for all levels of skier!
i think the hardest is the caribou carve...the rest is not easy but doable if you are a good skier ✌🏻
Probably first learn how to ski, then how to ski on one ski and then you can try this stuff :D
I just started freestyle skiing this year. Because of these videos I can land 360's, land switch off rails, do some gnarly grabs and a few other tricks!! Skiing is the shit! Thanks for making these videos, this channel slaps hard.
Dude love your content
Your an inspiration for me

Man, absolutely love your passion for making skiing even more fun. Your videos are clear, fun, rad AND informative all at the same time. Best skiing channel on YT
Love your vids! I can do a 180 now!
I'm skiing right now, gonna definitely try those carve reverts!
Coincidentally I was already practicing sking backwards today but I haven't quite got the switch down.
Could you do a tutorial just on skiing backwards? Best ways to turn and what to avoid/focus on?
There is a switch skiing tutorial but it is on his website.
I was doing that for my first time ever just before Christmas and I have to say that you just have to try it again and again. Just slowly progressing. Low speed, always looking backwards.... And you will eventually get the right balance!
Ok, hopefully this will be clear enough to help you, but feel free to ask more questions if I left something out. The easiest way to understand skiing backwards is to think of it as skiing forwards. What this means is that your lead changes (inside ski tip moving forwards relative to the outside ski) and using shin pressure to initiate the turn remain the same. To start skiing backwards, the easiest way is to do a nose butter. This looks similar to his reverts, but is usually done at a slower speed and you slide on your edges vs the carving you see there. to start, initiate a sliding turn, but lean into the front of your boots more than usual. Keep leaning forward until the tails of your skis lift off the snow. Immediately push your heels in the direction of the fall line and twist your torso in the opposite direction of the nose butter to keep looking down the slope. You are now skiing backwards! In order to carve, remember the above part. If you are leaning to the right, your right ski should be forward of your left, but now since you are skiing backwards, that will be uphill. Continue to lean in to the shin of your boot to initiate your turns, and when you feel like switching back, do a tail butter by leaning backwards until your tips come off the snow and roll them over in one direction to face the other way. Hope this helps!
Also focus on being able to look over BOTH SHOULDERS!
make sure you rotate your hips around, scissor your skis, and keep the eyes up!
Loved seeing you on the s9s, carving on slalom skis is just so fun.
Great!
Awesome video Jens! So much fun, I gotta give some of these a try... :)
Awesome video, can't wait to try these on the slopes!!

I like your videos very much!
God wish I could ski like u fair play...off to Les Deux alps 25th Jan definitely giving these a go.👍
Sicko!
Will try some of these tricks. I go skiing on Friday
I was so happy when I realized that I've already know doing inside ski carve 😂😍
Love your tutorials guys! A little suggestion: for me the follow cam from behind or from the side is much more helpful when learning these tricks, makes it so much easier to just, well, follow your motion 😅 Filming from below looks way more impressive but its difficult to transfer.
And special thanks for doing carving tricks, everyone else just focusses on park and freestyle 👍🏻
Nice
The inside ski safety grabs, carve 360 carve, and javelin are so sexy
Love your vids Jens the carve 360 carve is such a nice trick
could you do a video on how to ski switch? I usually slide around after tricks where I land switch but would love to ride out the whole way

Fun, fun fun
hii! love your videos :) quick question which type of ski do you recommend the most to try out freestyle moves? Ex. all mountain, twin tip, etc.
Nice Jacket!
Thank you :)
Looks like the Haglöfs Grym Evo Jacket Men in Desert Orange.
nice new haglöfs jacket !!
Thanks, found it on Christmas sale in Sweden.
You should do a game of SLVSH against ski addiction, love your vids they have helped me a lot
Some of these look cool, some look goofy, but they all look fun!
when you'd like snowboard on Christmas but Santa brought skies ))
Man! That looks like some serious fun. I am going next week to Austria, Moeltaller Gletcher, I will definitely try some of these. My biggest goal is to master the 360 though. Wish I had more time. Any chance you will be nearby? ;)
Thanks. Crossing the legs look like a biy silly to me. It improve the risk of knee damages.
Great videos guys! On which skis are you on this video man?
I have alot of trouble with losing grip with the edge of the ski while carving (when hitting some more packed/iciersnow). The edge on my skis are in good condition although the skis are a second hand old pair. Is my technique wrong? Does anyone have any tips?
I have the same issue and was just working on this today. What I've found helps is bending your outside knee in towards the inside leg as you transfer into a carve. Also apply pressure towards the front of your boot, and actually shift your outside foot laterally inside your boot as you initiate and progress through the turn so you don't cause a very sudden change in momentum which results in slippage; instead you want to gradually transfer weight (even if it is done quickly, the key is doing so with fairly even pressure). That being said, while I often ski 'expert' terrain by resort standards, I consider myself to be an amateur and am pretty new to proper carving so take that with a grain of salt.
Also in my case my edges are pretty shot so that probably doesn't help. One too many rocks and sketch terrain. Need to do a better job of avoiding barely buried rocks lol. But as is typically the case with these things, technique trumps equipment.
@@pirotrav Thanks for the tips! I will defiently try them!
Hey Jens,
could you please tell us how tall you are and what size that jacket is? Thinking about buying the sameone. Thanks for the videos :)
Hi, really amazing videos! Which type of skiis do you prefer using when playing around with some carving/free style on the ski slopes? A link to the type of ski would be really helpful. Maybe some viewers know as well
Крутяк🤘
Thanks for the help! What gloves do you use?
Finally
All video done on the bent chetler 100 ? I saw you used them so picked up a pair today :D where did you mount bindings?
There is another cool carve, where you take the tail of one ski and put it on the other ski in front of the front binding, and switch skis at each carve down the hill. Drunk Daffy carve.
Hey Jens, I'm coming to laax with my father for a week of skiing and stomping! Any big suggestions or things not to do?
Hey i have a question
wich ski stick lengh should i use for freestyle skiing , im 1.82 m
Hello, Could you tell what type of ski it is best to take for freestyle or freeride skiing?
Great videos! Where is that? What region/country? Those are some great ski tracks!
I literally choked a sip of bourbon thru my sinuses at 5:39. Sheesh.
Awesome ride! Is this currently filmed? Where are such good weather conditions? ;)
In my neck o the woods we call ski Bobing “Munchin Mode”
Song name ?
I find that as a previous racer I gravitate towards butters reverts and carve tricks. I’m a technically good skier so I don’t have to worry about form as much.
When does the Contest ends? Because I'm skiing in I guess 3 weeks. I'm so exited to do all the stuff I Just saw. Watched a hole bunch of your trick videos, it looks Just so cool. I guess - but not hope - that the most tricks are way more complicated than they Look...
At what point would you put your bindings on your ski when switching between slope and park skiing? Right in the center or maybe a little more in the back?
Which slope is this in Laax? I want to come over and maybe we could even meet... that would be nice man! Thanks!
360 carve is the best drill to keep in the fronts of yer boots !
Please do Another 10 ski hacks
Hey Which skies are you using ?
can you tell me brand and model of the sky you are using in this video (the grey/dark not the red)? tks
3:13 is known as the ACL buster position.
That throne would be reserved for 5:14
Where did you mount your bent chetler's?
I’m going to break an arm trying it.
But here we go :))
Laax = paradise
I used to do javelin turns for a ski racing drill it was so stretchy. But we pointed the inside ski on the fall line
Hey Jens
Really nice video. Could you tell me witch ski you were riding on in this video?
oh never mind... i just realized he said atomic bent chetler in the vid...
Could you please provide your usual DIN adjustment? It seems like some of the tricks require tide it up more than normal value.
Can you make a video on air tricks? No spin
What kind of skis do you recommend? Or what do you ride?
The ones he uses most of the time are atomic bent chetler
can you guys make a video on how to be more stylish while skiing(outside of the park)? I've looked on youtube and haven't found anything for outside of the park
Hey I've been wanting to get my own pair of park skis and I was wondering what skis you would recommend for someone fairly new to park.
K2 poacher is versatile
Monty Python on the ski :)
Quick question if anyone has an answer for me: I’m heading to Switzerland for a skiing holiday in April, does anyone know if the snow is likely to be alright around that time? Love these videos can’t wait!
Last season I skied in Laax (where Jens is filming his videos) until April 22nd. This year it should also be open until late April, but you never know how much snow there will still be.
Were?
Where did you mount your bent chetler 100s?
I have the same question.
@@simon9258 I just picked up a pair wanted a powder skill to had some versatility so I'm thinking back a lil bit but I think reccomend is close to true center
They’re great skis. I have a pair and they are super playful!
