I tried the water bottle with soap, common sense, found one hole in the side. Patched it but I still had leaks. Started looking for videos then I saw your cat because I recently got two kittens I knew this was the video for me. And as soon as you said that you watched your cat go after the spot where the hole was I recalled shooting my cat away from the bed earlier today. She was wanting to attack a little spot underneath the sheet so I immediately went there and immediately found the hole blowing air right at my face. You rock, cats rock thanks for your help!
Patch the hole with E6000 glue, available in grocery stores, drug stores, hardware stores, Walmart. You do not need to glue on a layer of any rubber or plastic. The glue alone works. Allow at least 3 hours drying time. I find holes by listening, feeling with my hand and the soapy bubbles method. Put in a LOT of air to help your search for leaks.
I've read through most of the comments and I do not feel alone in that my cat was responsible for the leak. Bella, male young cat is always working on finding mischief. I found the holes and used some hot glue and stuffed in the holes(3), so far so good. It is now 2024, and the prices are 2-3 more than 2 years ago, so while I do have the airhead vinyl kit I'm hoping that stuffing the hot glue in the holes plugged the leaks.
I used E6000 and duct tape to fix ours. My bad azz nephew stabbed it with a ink pen and tried to blame the big kids. I just put a blob of glue on the hole and then the edges of the duct tape. That was 2 years ago with another fixed hole & it’s still going strong 😂
Question??? Did you have to wait for the vinyl cement to full dry before you put the vinyl tape? Thanks for the helpful video it was extremely hard finding a video on this topic you’re a life savor❤
The pvc cement hardens in a few minutes if it is the one used for gluing pvc pipe. Alcohol and a small rag will remove the fuzzy layer. Then, deflate the mattress a little so air is not blasting out before applying a dab of pvc cement.
To be honest, the duct tape doesn't really work on the bottom side though either. I tried the duct tape on the bottom side where the leak was, and the bed still deflated after about 10 minutes.
Our puppy popped our daughters mattress I’m trying the clear coat nail polish I will back if she wakes up on the floor tomorrow to try your solution 🤣🤓

Glad the video helped! Using a cat to find air leaks should become the new thing. Every tire shop will now employ cats.
Just love your cat!!! I love when she was helping sand the fuzz, put the tape and monitor your work!!
This is super-relevant to all my interests.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give that a try.

Nice fix! I'll have to try out E6000 on some other projects / repairs.
