I once lived next to a fast food drive through between 2 streets. Idiots would rat run through there. The speed limit was 10 KPH (6.2 MPH) and it was a shared vehicle / pedestrian zone. The idiots would go through there anywhere from 10 KPH to about 70 KPH (43.96 MPH) hitting a very sharp metal speed bump (something that was hard on the suspension even at 10 KPH (6.2MPH) ) . It generated a huge BANG noise which could be heard 3 - 4 houses down. When you got it up to speeds over 30 KPH (18 MPH) the vehicles would become airborne . Sometimes they'd go so fast that you'd only hear 1 BANG noise. Of course after that they'd blow through the stop sign at the end of it across the driveway / footpath and turn left / right into the next street. Good luck to any pedestrians walking along the footpath / sidewalk 8000 + bang noises a day was pretty hard to live with. Over a few days I started noting down plates and found it was quite often the same idiots doing it day after day. Good business for the mechanics I'm sure as it knocks your alignment out / breaks things over time but not good for any sucker who moves in there unaware.

I could get a rough estimate each time a car drives by by pausing the video before they hit the first line then frame by frame until they reach the first line. Then I frame by frame from the first line to the second line and count the clicks in between those lines so if it takes 12 clicks to get from line to line I’ll times that by .050 which is about 0.6 seconds and a rough speed of 22.72mph according to a speed calculator I found online with distance and time.

If the arrows on the bump are the same color as 90 % of other road lines it doesn't send the notion of CAUTION...and then there's the sign again by the time they read it and see it bam they've hit the bump....there are some places that use roads thay light up...like the whole road lights up if needed...has directional options for digital movin arrows and stuff so these types of things could be programmed on to the road for better help and direction...some of them can also double as solar panels...makin it possible to help power an entire city grid. @@carl_h I bet I could do it in my Jeep we Don’t have intentional speed bumps where I live but we have a lot of flooding when it actually rains so they create humps in the road and I purposely floor and jump them in my jeep I think it would handle that pretty well just hit it at like 60 to 70. I have a weird amount of experience with jumping cars Back when I lived in Massachusetts there is a perfect place where we headed about 70n80 miles an hour and a Volvo You can get enough air to make your friend almost loses phone out the window from going weightless lol
The grey car did
yep only need to be going around 65mph
😂😂😂😭
Nighttime adds an extra effect with the sparks.
😂 I could watch this all day long!! I’d have a camera there for the same exact reason! Maybe even some lawn chairs.
Set up lawn chairs on the opposite side of the street from the camera, have people sit in them with score cards like they use in the Olympics and rate each jump! "That was an 8.5! There's a good solid 9! We have a 10 coming! Whoops! They slowed down! Only a 3.5!"
st2.depositphotos.com/1518767/5690/i/450/depositphotos_56909477-stock-photo-interview-panel-holding-score-cards.jpg
Hearing that noise at night must be a real treat for the people close by.
2:55 i think the truck was there for a car crash from the BUMP LOL
when city council members have interest in local auto repair shops.
This dudes house value is being held up by these speed bumps, perfect camera location.
Probably brought down with the sound of constant car smashings.
Good luck to any pedestrians walking along the footpath / sidewalk
8000 + bang noises a day was pretty hard to live with.
Over a few days I started noting down plates and found it was quite often the same idiots doing it day after day. Good business for the mechanics I'm sure as it knocks your alignment out / breaks things over time but not good for any sucker who moves in there unaware.
so not good then aye?... good business for the mechanics? wtf kinda thing is that to say? do you think the vaccines give more good business for the doctors too? so is that a good thing?
that's about as good business as cleaning up shit out of a drain
Sounds like you need to put up some bollards instead, good luck speeding past those
Whoever installed those speed bumps knew exactly what they were intending to happen 😂 I'd set up a camera too if I lived right there
LOL at 2:47 that Amazon van! About right. There is a body shop in my town, the lot is full of damaged Amazon package vans. I think their driver requirement is a pulse and the "training" consist of how to turn the key to start it up.
Racing to meet quota to avoid losing their jobs (or contract)
its always insane to me the people dont stop after to assess the damage like its just another tuesday for them and or they didn't pay for the vehicle
I know this is 1 year later, but they didn't stop (right there anyway) because they didn't want to look like idiots for any eye witness. For sure they stopped on the next corner.
it's probably just out of frame lol, it's not like you're gonna absolutely slam your brakes after the fact
Takes it too mechanic. "i hit a bump"
Mechanic looks. *missing oil pan and lower control arms.*
Stoping. No way bro get to your destination and than look migt not get going after some of tese
Some of them probably had to get to work or were working.
Whoever designed this probably plays BeamNG.
No, that would be if they inverted the speed bumps (hollow)
Whoever invented those drivers plays too much GTA
As if speed bumps weren't hostile enough architecture, this one's unmarked and camouflaged. I hope whoever needed that firetruck had time to wait...
0:34 mans on the quad taking use of free ramps
This is why road cycling is terrifying. I can't believe how many drivers are oblivious to signs and two giant mounds taking up the entire road.
Do they have signs posted doing a double bump is kind of like the city asking to get sued. You can see the streaks in the approach and exit of the 2nd ramp growing so a lot of oil pans have been sacrificed!
Where I live they're all marked yellow and everyone slows down. Kinda defeats the point when they aren't
They even can have sign saying speed bump. I doubt they dont have here
Why would you do the city because you're too dumb to look where you're going
I would literally set up some lawn chairs and invite my buddies over with a cooler of beer and watch this all day long.
The speed bump need to be 6 inches higher. Lmao
@ 2:48 Imagine some of the package content damages in the Amazon van! 😂
That made me laugh I had to rewatch. The back of the car raised so high 😂
Do you honestly think that's the biggest bump those packages have experienced during their journey?
@@fuktiktok8611 Probably not, but I can't help myself in thinking that all my replies/comments are worth either a sincere laugh or a contrary/sarcastic reply.😎🚬👏
Well, that pretty much rounds out my bucket list...
that fourwheeler knew it was there and was saying 'yeeeeeHaaaaa!'
3:50 was that sparks?
nah bro it was fairy dust wasn’t it
whoever engineered this is the biggest smart ass in history.
These are very nice flattened speed bumps. If you not speeding it barely feels. The thin ones are bad even if you slow 😆
Speed humps vs speed bumps
It’d be interesting to know the speeds of each car. My home cams are 20fps and I have a no parking zone in front of my driveway. Line to line on the no parking zone is 20ft.
Mythbusters would paint measured marks on opposite side houses. From that we could get a good idea of speed.
@@williammain3247 Anyone that believed anything from that show needs to get a lobotomy to forget ALL the bullshit from that show.
Television. Fake. Complete and utter trash.
When speed bumps tell you to slow down, you do what they say 😂
a good place to find loose change!!!
And a loose nut behind the wheel
Idk what's worse, a speeding car or the constant banging outside your window all night long.
These are not only dangerous but also a noise nuisance.
Ahh more of the "I'm way to important and entitled to pay attention and slow down in a neighborhood."
You'd think before a city makes a speed bump that they would have someone smart enough to make it FULLY VISIBLE at ALL hours to drivers.
My bet is…..if they weren’t speeding it would work out a little better?? My other bet is….there is signs with yellow flashing lights but are ignored by the speeders?? There were a few cars that slowed for them??
@@jeffmayle6776 well when they don't see the sign till they are on top of the bump it's not workin. plus that causes a driver to deviate their vision from the road to the side of the road and away from the bump they are about to hit...not that they should be speeding in an area like that but if they properly paint or even put lights on the bumps or heavy reflective surface it would help..partly as well those type of bumps are too subtle..
There is so much room for evolutionary improvement with a bunch of stuff....some of these things will start to become real or made available to the public...because they finally told the world about it or let the knowledge be known.
@@jeffmayle6776 putting cars in the air is a lot more dangerous then speeding
if people can't read the obvious signs warning them, then what good is making the humps themselves "FULLY VISIBLE"?
It is, there are multiple signs on either side of the bumps. If you can't pay attention to them you deserve your car to be trashed
All the scraped marks on the floor are hilarious!
This is absolute proof that ppl truely do not pay attention to signs while driving, Also to be honest if they cannot see the signs and the markings on the actual speed bumps / and they frag their cars that's on them
I should upload the video drive through of the bumps and all the signs
@@speedbumpolympics just start each video with a brief snapshot of the posted signage and a street view of the bumps.
I am amazed by the amount of people that just go flying over the speed bumps as if they are in a playground. They are there to slow you down..... or not in some cases. The first one with a trailer was the funniest.
It looks like the speed bumps are doing their job well. They are punishing the drivers vehicles that disregard the speed limit. I like it
No, they are just damaging people's property without warning them sufficiently. Cars still go fast, they can even lose control and end up killing someone on the sidewalk. Not only useless, but counter productive. Just like our politicians.
@@JeanV1986 speeding in a residential neighborhood is dangerous and frustrating, stick to the speed limit and pay attention to the road and your property will be just fine.
@@jimjimmyjam8242 no. Most of those cars are sticking to the speed limit. Here in Brussels (Belgium), the speed limit is 30 kph (20mph) all over the city. Not only they put speed cameras all over the place, but they also installed those damn speed bumps every 100m. It makes driving extremely frustrating and uncomfortable no matter how slow you're driving. Not to mention the increased pollution from having to drive in 2nd all the time... And you know what? Those idiots that used to drive like maniacs...still do! Epic fail.
@@JeanV1986 the speed limit is 30kph on every public road in Brussels and there are speed bumps every 100 meters? Yikes
@@jimjimmyjam8242 there are a few ones where you can go 30 mph(50kph) but those are few. The politics have completely lost their minds here...
As a nose breather who likes being alive we need more speedbumps like this.
they’re keeping local body shops in business
What we need is more speed bumps
Oh my gosh this is too funny! Especially the amazon truck!! It would have been funny as hell to see some cocky teen in a lowered car fly over this!! 🤣
When a speed bump causes more danger then the people doing the speed limit anyway.
Those speed bumps don't make any sense...
yes, just like the globe earth model.
Dude I wish they would put something like this in front of my house
Here in Union City, NJ we have speed humps with yellow paint all across the street, which is super visible, and absolutely nobody takes the speed bumps by surprise. Everyone here slows down before a speed bump, fulfilling the purpose of the speed bumps. But as long as those speed bumps has only a few (and not too visible) marks, it defeats its purpose, that's why there are so many cars that don't see them.
This is funnier than most female stand-up comics and yes this includes Brendan Schaub... I can't stop laughing😂
Now that made me laugh!
But so is bubonic plague.
The stupidity of sexism in your comment is funnier than most of these speedbump encounters and yes this includes the Amazon Van… Can’t stop feeling ashamed.
I have yet to see an Amazon driver slow down at all for these bumps. That tells me a lot.
Amazon drivers DGAF
when you have a minimum of 200 packages to deliver by the end of the day or you get fired you understand lol.
bro I would send it down that street lol!
I need those bumps in front of my house. 90% of the drivers blow through the Stopsign and are Speeding!!
Imagine living on that same street and hearing the constant sound of airborne vehicles landing. CRRRASSSH, SCRAPE, SMASH, KERPLUNK, BOING, BANG.
This reminds me of high school. We had a main road intersection in front of the school that had two huge humps that we’re formed by the roads. My buddy and I would come blazing into a he entrance everyday and jumping that thing
If there's no signs warning of the bump this can be a nice lawsuit against the city for damages
Or just don't speed?
@@FYS309 you realize even if you go the speed limit you can still damage your car? If the speed limit is 20 do you go over rumble strips at 20? No cause that’ll destroy your car

Amazon: Bro tf was that
I love how you can engineer a literal lump to only launch vehicles traveling over a certain speed. Some places it's 5mph, some it's 15
The stupid part is that they build it on a road that has a much higher speed limit than that. Kinda pointlessly evil.
