This needs to be released as a single!
Be lovely to see it as some sort of Number One song bid thingy. Like get it up for Eurovision Weekend or something.
Mitch, can have an updated version of this song for this year's rejoin march, please!!
And now, a year later with Covid19, this song is more relevant than ever.
How about now ? (Probably on repeat until.. maybe back in the EU)
This song cheered me up no end!
Argh, earworm from this all morning! Well said (sung) Mitch.
Might sing the chorus as we pass Downing St?
This is a superb tune regardless of the politics.
For posterity, I wrote this comment on 14th July 2020. For future readers, this is the week the U.K. government spent nearly £800 million on a 27-acre lorry park in Kent to try and deal with the intractable backlog caused by the customs checks and red tape we’ve inflicted on ourselves. This lorry park will be a graveyard for fresh produce and add over £7 billion in admin for already struggling businesses.
We told Brexiters this would happen. But they just held their fingers in their ears like toddlers and dismissed it as “project fear”, before swiftly gloating about “salty remoaner tears”.
There’s a reason your cardiologist doesn’t give you the option to conduct your own heart surgery. Because you aren’t qualified to do it. But the myriad of regulation, diplomacy and economic principle that keeps us afloat? Sure! Let every fuckwit weigh in! Here, my mate’s a carpet fitter! He got a banging deal from the warehouse the other day. Send him to Brussels! He’ll sort them out!
The arrogance, hubris and abject cluelessness behind the Leave vote has handed control of the UK to the worst people in it. Tories who consider you dim, idle drones. We’ve certainly vindicated that assessment.
I’m unable to express my anger and contempt for the rapacious lying fucks who led our country down this path. Turning us into a dismal American vassal where oligarchs can embezzle and exploit with impunity. Brexit was never a plan that involved regular people. Their consent was merely needed for it. And they hopelessly, hopelessly failed to cross examine the spivs, the inveterate liars, the con men. For shame.
THIS IS LEGEND
Omg! Love this and spot on 👏👏👏
Thank you Mitch for this wonderful video. The words are so uplifting and encouraging for UK citizens. We look forward to more reflections on what can happen when a political party tries to dupe a nation into believing that they, only they, can make a country great again by leaving the EU, the greatest trading block in the world for a WTO deal? (How's it going Liam)
Love this! So true and catchy. Hope the leavers take note instead of asking us to fix the mess we didn't want and asked them.not to make
Nope they're still blaming us remainers and the EU...
This is fantastic, keep up the good work!
Shared. I never thought you would top your Swindon City of Tomorrow song (love the mention of Stevenage), but you've totally busted it with this one!
Also given you a plug in RUclipsrs for Europe over on facebook.
Love it, learning it for 20/10.
A magnificent song!
Triffic song Mr Benn!
Excellent. Love it.
Catchy tune!
Stuck in my head all morning!
Brilliant! Brexit theme tune!
23rd March 2019, unless it's all legally put out of its misery by then, we stamp on Brexit again. Good marching song, Cool Hand Uke.
Great song. I just have one suggestion. Crop or blank out non-brexit stories on the newspaper pages used in the background best of luck oct 20
Nice one. Bollox to brexit
Wonderful !!
Shared..
amazing!
Fine work sir!
Awesome :)
haha loved this
Here because of those Brits upset over being forced by the Spanish government to leave the country.
Me too!
Brilliant. 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
Excellent fun and informative way to to tell the honest truth.
No deal suits me
Haha
No problem owning it - Leave no deal not a problem its what I voted for.
Oh bless you, who says that innocence does not exist any more ;) ?
Bet you won't be saying that a year from now.
@@teresawilson3130 That's actually hilarious since it's been a year from now and nothing has really happened. We've left the EU but by some miracle I still live in the first world... why is that? Could it have all just been fearmongering? No way....
@@dan27032 Except we didn't have a no deal Brexit, so we are in a transition period and - as you say - nothing has really happened. We still have full access to the single market and we still follow all the EU rules. If you're happy for it to stay like that indefinitely so am I. Otherwise, let's see what happens when we actually do leave with no deal. See you in 6 months.
@@teresawilson3130 Oh of course you would say that. It's always something isn't it. You people have been predicting doom and disaster even when the government merely talked of having a referendum. Every step of the way you have resisted the process and were really spoilt when we had Theresa May as PM (she was useless). I refuse to take you seriously when you mention the transition period because of all that. We have officially left the EU and are slowly pulling out, and our flag as been removed from Brussels. In addition since we have a pro Brexit government with an overwhelming majority unlike that of 2016-2019 we are inevitably leaving by the 31st of December; so unless the EU get ahead of themselves we are leaving with no deal and that will likely damage them more than it will us. I do not care if you say how powerful the EU are but the fact is we will simply have an alternative trading hub.
Ohhh this is wrong on any number of levels. I could take this apart line by line, backdrop by backdrop. Brexit could and should have been achieved by now in a way that everyone understood even if you didn’t agree with it. The current shambles is not of the “leave” sides making. Mitch’s impassioned defence of the indefensible, entertaining as it may be is just scatter blaming everyone who doesn’t agree with him. The lyrics are inaccurate, the background pictures are misleading. We are where we are because of lies, incompetence and scheming but not (just) the direction you see it coming from. I admire you as an artist, I like your conviction, but this, and similar is so one eyed it has to be challenged.
Cian McCabe Yes he did. He also described us as “whiny Brexit Arseholes” (which sounds like a great name for a pub quiz team or REM tribute act) over a picture of a bloke with “no more excuses, Brexit now” emblazoned on a placard. Not one of the ringleaders, I think. All of this argument is soon to become irrelevant as the shameless continue to stitch us up, but, one more time, for the record, explain exactly why a 2nd referendum would be appropriate before you carried out the instructions of the first. And why perpetuate the myth that only one side lied through their teeth? Someone somewhere indeed needs to own their shit. It ain’t just who you think.
@Cian Abroad He's right. The fact is we were given a referendum and it resulted in majority leave. This song just reeks of irony because of every remark he's made throughout it. It is a double bluff. The lyrics all revolve around brexiteers being "whiny" and "not getting over it" when that's what remainers have done nothing but display themselves. Thanks to people voting Labour in 2017 almost as much as conservative the opposition have been halting every bill that goes through parliament, the *calm patient and accepting remainers* have been protesting for a second referendum, and even called to "stop Brexit", all while ridiculing anyone who openly voted leave and declaring them nasty nasty racist people.
And that really came back to bite you all didn't it. We've left the EU now thanks to your encouragement.
@@dan27032 what you just did there is blame the remainers for the consequences of brexit, aka refusing to own your shit. Listen to the song again and this time understand that this behavior right here where you say "it's your fault because we actively sabotaged ourselves just to spite you" isn't very convincing and is exactly what he's talking about. This right here is you being "a whiney brexit arsehole". Please gain some self awareness.
