That actually is a good idea. Capcom did ask for ideas for expansions and dlc. You should submit this idea

Great game ,v good story and awesome combat . I agree with you in most aspects and I’ll add a wish , to add more bosses in ng+ to make the game more challenging and at the same time not hard for the new players.

There was a quest in Dragons Dogma 1 to free your main pawn. Also if you have seen the hidden ending; ask yourself What are Dragons & Drakes? Why do they call you "Brother" or "Silent hearted kin?"

Well... pawn was created to serve Arizen. They are like blank person with 0 personality/emotion/will. I think they are like a tools to test Arizen's will and how their will affect other. You are the one to help them grow and start to have their own emotion/will. Btw in DD1 true ending, your pawn become a real person with human emotion 😊. And in lore, there are a few was to give pawn human emotion/will too

I'm glad you told me. I didn't know DD1 had that. I'm hopeful they'll bring that back in the future and explorer how pawns came to be. Because at the beginning when we ask Luksa about pawns, she just says they are "nomads" born in other world and don't even know themselves what they really are. I think there's plenty of room to expand there and give pawns a proper story. 🤞

Affinity with the pawn is already in the game. That's why after paying attention to the pawn for a while, you notice your pawn is ashamed to look at you straight in the eyes and blushes when around you. So in DD2 the pawn do have emotions, but I don't think they would react acting out like a person, because your life depends on them and endangering the arisen is contrary to their existence (unless another plague or a domination devices is interfering). Also, if your affinity is high, pick the pawn up and put it on the bed before you go to sleep (in your house), almost always the pawn will blush instantly, implying that things are happening between the arisen and the pawn right after the "lights out".

I didn't know you could put your pawn in the bed. I'll do it from now on. LOL

When you get new pawns, use the Advanced Search and mark Yes on Quest Guide so that all the pawns shown know how to complete whichever quest you have set as primary. That helped me tremendously.

Soooo freedom to your pawn actually happens in the first game. But it happens when you become the god of the world (seneschal) and your pawn actually is brought back into the next world with free will of their own.

That sounds so much cooler than the ending in DD2. LOL

???? I think we played different games because the pawn system is half baked and has almost no RP value. You cant build a relationship with your pawn, your pawn is customizable yes but thats about as deep as your connection goes. They prattle off the same 4 lines endlessly and cant really do anything interesting. They have no backstory, they have no individuality, and all pawns are able to do the same things. How you suffered through 140 hours of this game is absolutely beyond me. The game has a ton of potential but it needs another 4 good years of deep development to flesh out the story and add things to do besides "go here and grab/kill this then come back for your reward"

Yeah, that's what my wish is, to see a deeper story and connection to the pawns.

Every pawn you play with was created by another real player (ok, except for the capcom ones). Your own pawn that you made is actually playing in someone else's game, and comes back with additional tips on treasure and hidden caves you haven't found yet. I always find this amazing. What I would love to see would be the pawn dialogue expanded. Let the writers loose and build in hundreds of dialogue that mixes up with itself.
It could even be just random jokes, life facts etc as I think this would make the gameplay utterly awesome. 'Hey Arisen. Did you hear about the Lord of Bakbattahl? He was a Noble Beast'....'Haha, that cracks me up every time :' 'You keep telling the Same Joke!' : 'Again. Seriously?' : 'I'm hungry', 'You're hungry? I'm so hungry I'd eat the balls off a low flying Harpy/Griffen'', 'I ate a scabby goblin once...' (all pawns stop. Together ''YOU WHAT?!?!!'). ''That NOT funny!'' ''Did you bring flipflops?' (on any beach) .......E.T.C.
      😃
