FUN FACT: When a lobster is brought up from reasonable depth and bled, their blood is perfectly clear. That is because the oxygen level at those depths is relatively low and hemocyanin without oxygen is colorless.
I really find myself drawn to the videos that you make in Vietnam because I spent a year there between 67 and 68 in the Air Force. And anyone who was stationed in Vietnam, during the war, will tell you that when you leave you leave a little Part of Yourself. And you find yourself drawn back. It really is a beautiful country. I feel bad that my connection to it had to be through that horrible War, but I still never got the place out of my system. Every one of your food videos is a treasure Trove of memories that come flooding back whenever I watch them.
Same for my grandfather, allthough I believe that may have been India. I don't know the exact years, but he was sent there by Dutch government under duress to be a cook in the army. They said it was for maximum one year.... they left him there for 3 😢 He was different when he came back and always carried those horror with him ever since. He also never wanted to talk about it my mom told me and she knew him to be a very strong independent man, never one to complain about anything at all, but he had deep scars of what happened to him by the government to get him there. Put in Dutch cells, locked up for refusing to go to fight for something my grandpa believed was just to steal from locals and other political reasons. In hindsight everyone knows he was right, but back then... they locked him and others up, slowly taking away their comforts, like blankets and things.. slow torture to get them to agree and go there. So obviously he was never the same after that. Probably no one is after having been to war. My other grandma used to tell us stories about her and her family during ww2, luckily they managed to keep themselves relatively safe. Its really too bad that's how you got introduced to a country. My grandpa never fully trusted Asian looking people ever again. He never was given much time either to adjust, as he died from cancer at 56, before I was ever born. I really wish I'd had the chance to get to know him and ask about everything..

He had a TV show for a short time on the Travel Channel. I agree these videos could easily be shown on Food Network if that cable channel ever wanted them.
He should start his own network and encourage other start ups to join- food network would try to control his content to make them more money - while he deserves a massive audience for his content- he is growing nicely organically and I tell everyone about him and share his videos- all of us who love him just need to keep watching, liking and sharing - and watch the ads without skipping lol
