The entitlement is just so baffling.
I was playing a match as Deathslinger, and the entire team was just being toxic the whole game. Like, chasing me, flashy clicky clicky, and they brought a bnp. I almost got nobody, but at end-game collapse, they were too cocky, and i ended up getting a lucky shot on two of them. Then I chased the other two out the exit gate. The meg I killed that was chasing me the entire game, going clicky clicky, and t-bagging literally messaged me calling me a proxy camper, and that I’m bad and should uninstall.
Like…Bitch you could’ve left ages ago, but nah you wanted to clicky clicky and t-bag against a deathslinger 😂😂
Otz has good add-ons and boon totems are just perks. So killers bring add-ons every match but it's toxic if survivor brings an item.. oh the irony of dbd, the player base never gets any smarter over the years
I choose to believe he/she was joking
@@muzzypwnyou found the survivor main

Lovely survivors LOL
I knew at least one of the survivors was going to say that, and honestly they got what they deserve. I hate boons so much that felt real good seeing Otz killed 3 of them just sad the nurse survivor got away. Boons really feel unfair and toxic since they can be placed over and over, so camping a boon survivor is more than justified.
this is what really makes me hate playing this game, survivors can do all the nasty tricks, and if you stay near the hook 0.001 second too long your a camper and should go kill yourself.

I think boons should be like ds one and done I say this as a survivor main boons are a little op against killers especially slower one's that can't travel the map as fast
I mean its BHVR, so the cool down would be amazing, the perk thing is far more likely. BHVR always "fixes" their mistakes with perks instead of just fixing their game.

As a plague main, she has moved to S tier in the current boom meta. Healing and scratches are pointless as I can hear them constantly vomiting/coughing, or if they refuse to cleanse they are all one hit downs.
What perks are you running right now with her? And any tips? I play her a lot as well but I consider myself still a beginner.
and if they do cleanse you get your red vomit, so its really a win win.
Shes still a normal M1 killer that gets her ass handed to her by good survivors who can loop well/avoid giving plague her power. Definitely not an S tier character, far from it.
@@xcurrentbreeze6626 shes been reworked a little, addons tweaked, and while she still isnt s tier, vomiting on someone basically guarantees an injure, your power or best case scenario more people infected from gens. id put her top b. best addons maybe even a
@@xcurrentbreeze6626 I mean, if you don't cleanse, you take an injury. Yeah, then you'll have to get M1'd, but at that point you're at the point that you can't escape getting hit once. If they do cleanse, you can turn a healthy survivor into a downed survivor within a few seconds if you play smart. Looping well against her can work, but looping against most killers can win unless they have something that denies loops, and she can vomit over loops too. Her rework and addons make her a pretty good killer.
Hex pentimento: You can rekindle totems only once.
Boons: How about you do it how many times you want?
The mental disconnect of the devs at this point is beyond anything I have ever seen outside of a mental institution.
Once is all you need as killer.
Hex Pentimento: You dedicate an entire quarter of your perks to something that means you need survivors to break all 5 totems and then you also need to go to each of them individually and tap them and if none of them are broken in that time then you get the 5 totem effect, you get no second chances, can't rekindle more than once, and can't break the totem on your own
Boon: one quarter of the team with 1/16th of the team's perks spends 14 seconds and now the killer has to run over and stamp on it or suffer, and the killer has to dedicate an entire quarter of their perks to make sure boons can't be spammed infinitely
Killer side: 50% of their perks to at least try and make all 5 totems get broken and then has to rekindle streak and hope none of them gets broken with a single 14 second action from any one of four survivors
Survivor side: 1/16th of the team's perks means the Killer has to dedicate 4/16th's of their perks to at least try and fight it, presciently of course 🙃

The fact that there is only one hex totem that gets placed randomly on the map and gets permanently removed once its destroyed and boon totems being able to be placed on any totem as many times as you want really tells you the killer to survivor balance of this game.
bUt It TaKeS 14 sEcOnDs tO bLeSs, aNd HeXeS aFfEcT tHe EnTiRe mAp
The game design is heavily favored for survivors because they can't kill the killer, so naturally they need to have something to leverage the differences. That's one big problem about this game, and it's simultaneously it's biggest selling point.
@@doublelizard767 I get that but just because they can't kill the killer, it doesn't mean they're below the killer. "Killing" an opponent is just a concept of winning against him in video games. In this games killers can win by killing the survivors and survivors can win by escaping. You do make a good point, but I don't see why the fact that the survivors can't kill the killer should matter when balancing
@@doublelizard767 literally the entire point of the asymmetric game genre is that you ARENT favored as the many: you're supposed to have to use teamwork to overcome the one powerful player. Having tools to use, like perks or pallets, is obvious but the whole point of a killer is that they're supposed to be stronger than you and you have to play SMART to overcome the odds.
If the survivors are more powerful than the killers, then literally what is the point? If killers feel powerless compared to survivors, why would anyone play them? If no one plays them why would anyone wait 40 min in a queue to get tunneled and camped because those are the only killer players still playing?
The game is in decline because of this mentality of "survivors need to be powerful too" when they don't, they are supposed to be SMART. You don't need 20 tools/perks/maps to cover up all your mistakes every game, you need to get better and make fewer mistakes by practicing.
@@ironmaiden93ofangmar But they are below the killer. Two different games are being played, Cat and Mouse at its core is incredibly simple, and the Cat is more likely to win every game. But throw in everything DBD gives to survivors creates the imbalance, which is caused by the inherent flaw of Cat and Mouse. Also how its designed in game
I believe from what I watched in the video: Every single totem Otz saw in that game, was a boon totem. They were never even dull.
I don't think I've ever seen someone tell Otz to Uninstall, knowing they were against him.

Survivors always amaze me, they can use everything they have, bring a map offering, spam boon totems in hard to reach spots, bring brand new part, but the killer is the bad guy if he doesn't let them unhook for free
This kind of reiterates the fact that boon totems are not fun to deal with and allow survivors to make the dumbest plays but have the boons make up for them. I mean imagine how easily they would have won if they didn’t just mess with Otz for most of the game.
yeah. boon totems need to get tweaked. an easy fix would be a cooldown after the boon totem got snuffed and games wouldn't feel as bad to play anymore.
I don’t think they were messing with him. That looked like them genuinely trying their hardest to prevent him from tunneling and they still got stomped. I’m not saying the game is perfectly balanced but this video doesn’t provide any evidence as to why it’s not balanced (unless you want to get into why it’s not balanced because of the tunneling). Otz still got a 3K despite them being a 4 stack with boon totems and a bnp. Imagine if they were just all solo queue instead of a 4 stack and he played like that. Game would have been over in no time flat. The game not being fun for Otz doesn’t automatically mean it was unfair.
They need to just lose the perks when they are destroyed like killers do. Each Boon Totem does more than a hex totem, usually requires less set up. Which takes longer; hitting each survivor with an M1 for Third Seal, or 16 seconds to bless a totem so every survivor gets Shadowstep?

To be fair, the killers were also tormeneted in the Entity lmao.
At this point the killer should be able to even destroy the white totems, its way wore usefull to survivors than killers. Premade parties with boon totems are a nightmare, the only "fear" a white totem gives to survs its "no ed" and lets be honest its just a sure kill totem but you still lost the match. The fact of healing/ress unlimited times is way better than the possibility of someone dying at the end of the match.
noed does nothing if they break all but the best totems and boon those best totems
@@pokerusfreak8194 Agree, something that a premade could perfectly do. This could be solved by a stronger threat than Noed or nerfing boon totems to some extent. When someone unhooks a surv, you dont hit the unhooked to prevent BT, even if you dont know who is using the perk. Right now there isnt a reason to destroy totems.

Boon totems should kinda be like hex totems. High reward, high risk so if the killer snuffs them out, it should be disabled for the rest of the game
maybe not entirely but at least the dull totem should be removed and they have to search another totem.
It should be they can place it again after a long cool down, but they cant place it at any totems that previously had a boon on it
Had a game like this the other day. Hadn’t played dbd for about a month, and back and they used RPD map offerings, with boil over, iron will a d some combo of boon totems all over the map. They were teabagging the whole time and after I killed two of them the other two would only hide and put boons around. After about 25 min I just sat at the exit gates and let them do gens and opened it, was the dumbest thing ever
This is why the game is so lopsided between vets and newbies. Even Otz with 6k hours is frustrated and struggles to keep the pressure on survivors. Imagine a player with a couple hundred hours in the same lobby? They would get face stomped
If boons were a one time use like Killer Hex Perks this wouldn't be abusable like this
I am that 600 hour killer. I just don't play anymore, the game isn't balanced to let killers play casually or kindly.
Im that guy, a month playing the game and I use Legion. I think that only the S tier killers can handle the match to some point. But using like in my case legion I always feel behind the survivors, they dictate the pace of the match not the other way around.
@@Danu689 survivors dictating the pace of the game at the beginning is what should happen. Next up is Boon: we love SWFs! Survivors now take 3 hits to be put into the dying state when within the boon radius! If the killer tries to down a survivor within the boon aura, the exit gates are powered instantly!
That's too under-powered! If the Killer downs a Survivor within the range of Boon: We Love SWFs; the Survivors automatically escape, and the Killer has his hard drive reformatted!
Note: Boon: We Love SWFs' range is the entire map.
Tbh the first part sounds like something they'd actually add lol
You joke, but I’m reckoning we get either one that cures exhaustion when you step inside it (so you can dead hard or sprint burst again), one that shows you the killers aura inside of the radius or probably something equally game breaking like free BT if you unhook in the radius.
Maybe it negates the effects of Hex’s inside the radius, or perhaps it slows down the killers movement or ability recharge.
Either way, it’s gonna be stupidly broken.
@@daemonlordmagnusthered6213 How about one that allows Survivors to self-unhook if they're hooked near the Boon Totem?
This would basically force the Killer to waste time breaking the Boon while Survivors do gens or unhook. Oh yeah, and the Survivor would self-unhook while the Killer is walking over to said Boon, thus forcing the Killer to either chase them, or ignore them to break the Boon.

@@DemonicInuyasha3 Yep, there is no way a killer can go back to a single totem over and over again to snuff it out to keep the survivors from constantly healing themselves.

These survivors were super toxic and Otz still showed good sportsmanshis, only to be met with a "Camper" and "uninstall pls." Just wow
Boon totems radius should be sphere with 24 meters radius so it would be a lot harder to use on Multi level maps and killers will actually have a chance
Yes. Boons are the only perks that have their AoE be a cylinder instead of a sphere. Terror radius, whispers, bond, make your choice, etc all have spherical AoE's. But not boons. I don't like to think that BHVR is actively trying to screw killers over, but they must've made the concious decision to switch up how the AoE works for boons, and I don't like it.
Your mistake is thinking the devs care if the Killers have a chance. ;)
There are more Survivors, therefor, Survivors will always get what they want.
Of course, this will make Killers leave, and then there will be even MORE Survivors than Killers, and thus Survivors will have an even louder voice compared to the remaining Killers.

RPD is a map already aids to both survivor and killer, but with boons, survivors can make it 1000% more aids to deal with
Boons are the unbalanced thing...They need to have a huge cooldown and not be able to just be placed without any consecuence, plus they need to be certain conditions to place a boon (Like 1 placement for every 2 gens done) That's the only way Boons will be balanced.
Yet another example of what I feared when they were announced:
Boon totems are bullshit. Especially on vertical maps.
for real, they nerfed the aoe but still havent made them lose verticality. They cover WAY more area than they should, especially on these new maps with so much space going up and down
People with half of a brain cell knew Boons were going to be bullshit...No one can really have a fair argument to try to defend Boons in this state. If we're talking about balancing, boons should be only be able to place them just 2 or 3 times, and increasing the time to re-place them exponentially

Boon totems are insanely accessible because one person has to risk 16 seconds to give the whole team a huge buff while one person is chased. I've had it before in my own killer matches where boons are basically in plain sight in the middle of the map, and basically on my way to patrol the gens. So, why not just snuff real quick, and move on? Costs me little, and odds are good the survivor is going to waste time doing boons again, which means I've reduced the amount of people doing gens for a bit. All and all, not bad. Especially if they keep putting their boons back up. 16 seconds may not be much, but they still add up to wasted time if the boon can easily and consistently be snuffed with little risk on the killer's part.
Where it starts getting dumb is when the map either has far flung totem placements, or there are multiple survivors with boon perks in a match, or god forbid, both, like we see here. Then, boons become more than just a quick aside thing you take time out to do, real quick. You actually have to go searching for the boons, which is costly to your time. But you feel compelled to do it, because of just how oppressive a boon can be when left up for extended periods of time. Same with multiple boons. You can maybe snuff one out, or so, whilst just travelling. But any more, and it becomes something that you'd have to waste time countering. Combine the two together, and you end up with games like this.
In short, I actually agree with you. I'm just saying that boons can be a waste of time on the survivor's part. Generally, however, they're really dumb implemented as they are right now. They likely need a lengthy cooldown of some kind before the survivor can put up another one.
So, devs, "snuffing totem completely destroys it" -when?
So the killer gets fucked out of a totem? make it so once a totem was blessed once, it cannot be reblessed by any survivor.
@@dalepirofsky3851 with pentimento this would theoretically benefit you but if we're being realistic I would give boon totems tokens, so every time their totem gets snuffed out it loses a token, that way survivors have to think about where they play them instead of rapid fire spam
Never. Cause Almo.

Boon totems are OP. Specifically in a team of 4 with synergized perks being able to light these thing over and over again makes survivores amn near unstoppable. BHVR has finally succeeded in making their bully simulator.

Otz and his map knowledge has proven to be unmatched
Devs please make snuffing blessed totems destroy the totem entirely-unless it was a Hex, in which case it should revert back to Hex status
Bro whaaat, 30 years blessing a hex and the killer can get him back? Lmao
Destroying the totem is a good idea. Getting a hex back, however, is not.
The survivors can still just break the Hex totem normally, lol. at this point, survivors are literally rewarded when killers run Hex perks; a change like this would make them a _bit_ less punishing to run, imo
@@lilymuu they already found the hex perk and blessing it is the equivalent of destroying it.
So by game logic you should still lose your hex perk.

Boons are one of the worst things to ever happen to dbd if they dont get nerfed soon
How have I just realized that you can actually see the birds in the Artist's hand when she uses her power? That's neat
I feel like a good way to nerf boons is to either have a cooldown of like a minute or two after it's destroyed before they can place a new one or just have the killer destroy the totem completely. In the cases of Undying, it would rebuild the totem and place the hex on it
Or atleast the boon will be snuffed when the blesser got hit or other survivors near the boon got hit. Just something to snuff it faster.
That face at the end is too pure for this world.
Nobody: Nobody at all: OtzDarva: This is my Obsession I can’t afford to do this right now
One of the most intense game I have seen. Well done, it is truly impressive
man how can survs be so blind... they brought an entire arsenal designed for the sole purpose of making the killer suffer and winning without mercy, and the instant the killer retaliates with a tactically questionable decision to impose a kill, they get mad and go on a witch hunt.
Not even tactically questionable. Since survivors now heal really fast and (especially on vertical maps like the Game or RPD) can pick themselves up without wasting a perk slot, the most strategically sound decision is to tunnel and camp a survivor to ignore those boon totems and tip the match in your favour.
It’s a shitty situation, but if you want to win against a SWF with boons then that is the best option.

Should have said okay booner at the end :)
20:10 "Of course you realize, this means war."
This video is proof as to why I think Pentomento is a useless perk in the current meta.
Boon perks should have a token system to re ignite them. Like at the start of the round you get two tokens. These tokens are consumed upon placing a boon. However if you do some tasks you can gain tokens to put down another boon. Then make yellow green purple be how many tokens you can hold while the perk is up (0/1/2). For example circle of healing requires you to heal a teammate to replace a token, Shadow step requires you to escape a chase x amount of times or stay in terror radius for x amount of time, Exponential requires you to pick up teammates. That way we get more altruism among survivors and encourage interaction with killer but the killer doesn't feel jipped when they destroy a totem and almost instantly a new one pops up in the same fucking space because to break it you have to go through a convoluted path instead of patroling gens
Seeing how many killers are not happy with boon totems with the effects you want of it being broken you’ll soon realise noed won’t be as clutch for most killers if you wanna destroy totems
i dont run...noed...wait, wheres the part for the killers that dont run one perk? what if my games dont always end at exit gates powered? how about i trade noed value for actual, tangible pressure?
@@tysonfletcher5607 you said it yourself doesn’t always get to end game but that’s how it should be you win some you lose some but no matterwhat the condition of the game is or perks ppl are always complaining
good, noed is also awful design
its not as bad as boons, but its horrible
I think an interesting change to boons would be to allow only ONE totem to be blessed at a time, and this is assuming the devs don't want to give killers the ability to break boons rather than just snuff them.
Basically the way it would work is the first survivor blesses the totem at regular speeds, which I think is 16 seconds for a Dull and 24 for a Hex. Then, if another survivor has a boon perk, then they can go to the blessed totem and add their blessing to it at the base speed of 16 seconds, giving it multiple perks. This of course would still not allow blessings to stack. If another totem is blessed, then the previous boon totem is moved, but does NOT retain any other boon perks aside from the ones the survivor brought that blessed the totem.
Yes, areas like the one seen in this video would still be massive issues, where you can have a crazy boon set up with loads of blessings, but then at least each survivor would have to go up there and bless it or simply move it by blessing another totem.
patch 7.0.0 could save the game if the dev would make it exist
4:10 you ate fried bird while playing on Birdie mommy, it's totally a war crime, Ots
5:00 oh, nevermind then
"CAMPER, Uninstall plz" - Upset Survivor, probably.
If it takes 16 seconds to bless a totem. that would translate in killer time to 4 seconds to do a thing. It takes about 2.5 seconds for a killer to kick a gen, but Boon totems are infinitely more valuable than kicking a gen at base regression. Timewise Its basically like a Survivour getting hit with a DS but they come out of it with a huge advantage afterwards. especially since the time sink fully pays for itself in two heals or less. and thats only for the one boon that is easy to quantify (Circle of Healing)
As a killer you are literally unable to do anything in 4 seconds that would equate to a survivour spending 16 seconds putting even just Circle of Healing down, and the longer you ignore the boon the more time it saves them. Even snuffing the totem takes 2 seconds, plus the distance one might make during that time to drop chase and snuff, and every second the killer spends dealing with the totem and closing the gap made is 4 seconds the survivours have to do gens and make distance.
Boon totems are too strong a resource to be infinite.16 seconds is a trivial amount of time for survivours to spend to get these benefits when the killer needs to more than half that time (pound for pound) to stop and play the animation to break it. maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you could snuff totems while moving at full speed, or if there was an activation period of 10 seconds. Or maybe killers should just be able to break totems what with them being the hugest liability ever.
Boons are quite rude and suck to go against personally
11:05 everyone is either injured or down, 11:30, only two people injured. that fucking recovery is insane.

Idea: Give killers the ability to destroy a boon totem with their power or an attack that takes a few seconds for killers with a less lethal ability.
Example: Plague could do so with Corrupt Purge, Pig could use an ambush attack to instantly destroy one, Nemesis could use his tentacle to do so without having to infect any survivors, etc. Boons are too op on certain maps, especially with there being a lot of dull totems all around
If hexes are permenantly gone. So should boons. I can believe that this is a controversial opinon.

Boon totems on rpd are pain, if they ever do something gen related with boons I’ll quit immediately
I think an easy fix to prevent this play pattern is adding a cooldown between boons, maybe like 30 seconds or so. Or giving the killer the ability to break a boon totem completely, forcing them to find a new spot.
