Nutcracker was AMAZING!!! Went to 3 shows and you guys rocked!! Loved seeing you dance Sisters Emily! And Jonathan was fantastic in the Chinese dance!! So good to see Courtney and Catherine!! You should do more ballet videos!! :)
Nutcracker (Casse Noisette) isn't really a part of Christmas tradition in France. So, I don't know really the music, or even the Ballet. But, you make me want to see more. So thank to you for that. Before, I was totally insensitive to ballet dancing, even though I have a cousin in my family who almost became a professional dancer, and now teaches ballet. Even though, I have artistic work..., but I don't know, it didn't affect me. Today (it's been a long time actually), after years of practicing Martial Arts (I see similarities between martial arts and ballet / dance), I see the bodily performance, I even admire it. And followed the beauty. I now see how beautiful classical dance is. And even more, I follow a ballet dancer on RUclips !!! So thank you again for making me appreciate the world of ballet even more.
That is Catherine Hurlin as Clara - she played Clara in the first performance of ABT's Nutracker and I was in the audience in New York - actually, it was in Brooklyn. I saw her as a student in the JKO School and she was obviously a standout and headed for the company. She's a Soloist with the ABT Company now.
The ABT Nutcracker is an entirely different Nutcracker from Balanchine's which I was used to and saw many times at NYC Ballet. I consider that the definitive Nutcracker because it is Balanchine. ABT wanted obviously their own production, and this is a reimagining of Nutcracker. Who was the choreographer?
My nutcracker auditions are on September 3rd! I think I have a shot of getting a good part this year! I've been so ill I couldn't dance last year... I'm back now and I can't wait! ❤️
I remember doing the nutcracker this year, and at my ballet we have fairies(No angels or mother ginger) and I played as one of tall fairies and it was amazing to do that role.
omg i had a performance (showcase thing because it's a school) and my headpiece is big and heavy with a really quick change so i didn't have time to pin the headpiece onto my head and it almost fell off onstage but i saved it (sort of) by kinda altering parts of the dance and literally adjusting it onstage as fast as possible
Hi. We have Friends membership of the Royal Ballet in London. But you’re video was so lovely and interesting. This is my first time seeing you, so can you just say what company you’re with and where these performances of the Nutcracker were held. Best wishes from England. 🙋♂️🇬🇧🩰🎼
@@Rog5446 If you have a ball of clay straight out of the package, it is cold, hard, difficult to work with. After you warm it up, it's pliable, moldable and easy to manipulate. Our bodies work the same way. If you don't warm up and stretch, your cold, likely stiff body is significantly more likely to sustain injuries especially when participating in elite/professional sports and other strenuous activities.
@@shannonrickard8605 If your body is cold and stiff, all that means is you don't have your optimal range of movement, and cannot produce maximum power. That's why you warm up, so you can achieve best performance. It does not help prevent injuries.
I wanted to be a ballerina when I was younger and got halfway there but really I just loved the clothes. I would love ballet clothes for everyday but not too flimsy. 🩰🩰💫
Love the back stage magic......and fun coworkers......🧚♂️
Yes my coworkers are amazing!
I danced for a ballet company years ago. The Nutcracker was always something I looked forward doing to every holiday. I never got tired of it.
Ahh love watching your videos! So great to be able to see what actually happens behind the curtains and a bit if the awesome team you get to work with
Thanks! 😊

Performing nutcracker in a world renowned ballet company.
Do you know where the blue Leo is from at the start ? Xx
It’s from Ballerina Couture by Tina Pereira
Very good video
Thanks!
What is the song in the beginning? It's so awesome and calm ❤🥺
It's called "Weather Any Storm" by Cody Francis
@@MadeByMily Thank you 🥰🥰
I would love to know some stretches you do to maintain flexibility?
where are your leg warmers from that you wore in class? :)
They look like they could be RubiaWear or Mia Dancewear legwarmers? Hope this helps :)
Yup! They’re RubiaWear 😊
Do you have to pay for your pointe shoes, or does your company help out with the cost?
The company
I love your leotard! :) where did you get that?
Can you specify which one? I wear a couple throughout the video haha 😊
@@MadeByMily oh I’m sorry! Leotards that you wore at 1:40 and 3:35
The blue one at 1:40 is from ‘ballerina couture’ and the white one at 3:35 is from ‘eleve’ 😊
Thank you so much 😘
5:22 ㅋㅋㅋㄱㅋㅋㄱㅋㅋㅋ키😂🤣🤣
courtney is hilarious
Yes she is!
It's so important to see the whole face
you look like hunter shaffer omg
How would someone present an idea for an original ballet, music and story line to a ballet company to produce and perform?
Interessante.
what i would give for this :,,)
Abt body. Best.
The other girl was the definition of a pick me girl lmao
chicago isn't a state... what...
