- Today we have a nice treat for you guys, just a fun video as we test and review a new electric moped style bike from Addmotor, the Soletan M-66X. We have been having so much fun with this bike, as it will take all 3 of us on fun excursions whenever we want, regardless of road conditions due to its fat-tire design which will follow paths on dirt or sand, even at the beach! Your right about the front shocks. Seems to be a bend, in the fork, jamming up the plastic cover from sliding down easily.
Buy, DRY graphite spray, sand wouldn't stick,
Of take the forks apart. Take the plastic cover off. Lay a level, 12" on the fork bars. See if there bent. It only takes a little bend.
And you should hide a GPS, tracker on the bike.

Hi folks. Capt. Rick, I hope your surgery goes as well as mine did. I had my hiatal hernia repaired in April 2023 and the surgeon did a 3/4 wrap. It was in a really bad condition but now I can eat pretty much anything. I do take papaya tablets if I eat something I know will not go well with me. They are GREAT. I am no longer on medication at all. I was diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus and was the worst case my dr. had ever seen he said in his long career. I am so glad I had the surgery. I hope you have the same results.

Absolutely! Tiki / African Greys are incredibly smart social members of the family. I think Tiki is Capt Rick’s second parrot. I found Sophisticated Lady’s whole story because of his first Grey, Lucky. There are videos of his shenanigans at the beginning of Rick’s large library. That was back in the day, when there were paying sailors, very few electronics.

love your tech reviews Richie is getting so big now I love the harness you have for him some people here in Australia comment those things are cruel for kids but kids don't always see danger. I had one when I was little and I am positive that is why I am alive now.

They are in San Andres, a small Colombian island in the Caribbean Sea. They are regular visitors there and honored by the locals/local gov’t.

Great bike, but may I suggest a helmet for little Ricci? , and the parents.
OK a very interesting review of the bike and safety features. However I find it very disappointing that the driver and riders of the bike failed to follow proper safety protocol - Helmets, Gloves, proper boots etc. Just my thoughts as a motorcyclist in Canada.
Especially when Rick has already found a rut in the road a short time ago and understands the consequences. For a very sharp guy, he doesn't score well on this one as he is putting his family at risk.
U forgot the leather driving chaps in case he has to ditch the bike at 120kmh ....

The mechanical disc brakes take some adjustment. They are more simple for maintaining. I own one of each system and like both.

Bike looked fun. Have you forgot how easy you all most killed your self. With the head first dive. Got to say, richie, need a crash helmet. Yes it hot, get one that is all holes.
Second, watch, the video, Rick, richie was out cold asleep, in that seat, he was a bobble head. One quick turn from you, and richie's neck would snap. A tip, the same neck support for airlines, that you blow up, and put the horse shoe, pillow around your neck. U might want to shop for a kids size. Keep it with you, richie falls out, and is sleeping, at least, his head and neck will have support.

Bloody heck all of those toys Rick you are so good at doing such great comparisons I think that is why companies see you as their test person on quality stability and easy use. I love how you test drones of all types even under water ones to life saver types. Then Bikes Batteries and other top[e goods for keeping people off grid.

Rick, did the front forks get tweeked inward when mounting the front wheel? Check by taking all axel tension off one side and see if the fork springs out and the forks compress smoothly. Spacer washer/s will be needed if this was the problem.
Hey Capt! I bought the set of screwdrivers you have on the boat. Works so great on the houseboat I boat another set for home! Question: whose socket set are you using? I can’t find a decent set to store without all the sockets falling out when I open the case. Thanks Capt! Capt Ron (Bruce) and Renee Westad.

If you value your lives, your sons your wife's and yours, I would seriously consider wearing helmets. No excuse not to IMHO.. Cheap insurance... they call them "accidents" for a reason... you don't plan to have one but they happen. Sorry Rick, you lost some respect on this one... poor decision on your part.

Agreed, Rick did you forget how you felt after you had your other bike accident?!! Imagine that happening with little one & wife on board without any head protection at all! It doesn’t take much for a tragedy to happen that you could have prevented by taking the proper precautions! Just saying 😊
The general public do not wear helmets on the island. It is literally unheard of. He has mentioned this in past episodes. Not to mention that I believe he said it's hard to get helmets there. He also mentioned that they the general public drives alot safer there because there are so many bikes/motorcycles/mopeds there. They are more considerate to them
If people can order electric bikes , you can order safe helmets at least for the child . Reminds me of when we suggested for a young mother and 8 year old son since they had 45 mile commute to wear their belts.
Well sad to say she drove of the highway into a lava field. She was thrown out of the car and didn’t survive while her son survived while wearing his belt .
I'm sure you've thought about this already but those brakes should be on standard bicycle fittings so you could get a good set of mountain bike hydraulic brakes and fit yourself.

I own an Aventon Sinch e-bike and watched a lot of e-bike reviews, say they don't like the fact that the seat can not be adjusted and longer leg people have the high knee peddle position which most find very uncomfortable, if you are a peddle assist user. PS luv my Sinch.

Impressive cruiser. I looked up price. It is considerably cheaper than a top quality electric bike. I definitely will buy 2 for my wife and I. 300 lbs capacity is really impressive. They claim on their website a range of upto 105 miles/ 168 km. Your results are with 3 people. Be interesting to see how far you can go with 1 person. BTW, how long is one lap of your island?

Well straight from Addmotors Specs.... The 66x has a Maximum Weight, Capacity/Payload of 300 pounds. All 3 of you are definitely exceeding 300 pounds. Now add in all the accessories you bolted on and the fact that you are using it for grocery getting... I wouldn't bank on that motor lasting very long.

OMG! After your last bike accident, you would think that it would be smart to wear a helmet. Keep the backseat storage compartment for little Rick's helmet. While the adults are fine with risking their lives and afraid to start an island tread, if any thing ever happened to the little one, the little lady would be devastated. Tragedies happen unexpectedly all the time, but the unforgivable one are the preventable ones. SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!
