Loose screw only was my problem. Bushings were all fine. Your explanation of how to set the screw at the 3:19 mark was tremendous help. Thanks for posting this great video
Much appreciated. About to change the driver one now because it just conked out and I can't shift into Reverse smh...Anyway, good to know to just leave in Neutral and tighten screw!! Changed the passenger side one 2019 and friend who did it asked me too if we should change both at the time lol...Shouda wouda led to me doing it today haha. Thanks again, blessed year.
Thanks for the video I am about to do this job on my 2004 Cruiser. I am having a very hard time removing the center console cover because of the geometry with the parking brake lever. I have it up as far as it will go but I’m still going to need to bend the plastic cover if I can to get it over the lever. This may be because my parking brake cable had stretched over time and was recently tightened up by a garage mechanic.
Hmm, I have no experience with the automatic tranny. What do you mean by hard? There is a cable adjustment usually on top on the transmission and possibly one at the shifter inside. Get yourself a Haynes manual from Advance Auto , order online, pick up in store, go to retailmenot.com for coupon codes to use on the sight. The manual will tell you about adjustments. I'll try and look in my manual this weekend for you.
I just found out the hard way, it's the shifting cable! Mine went out on Saturday, it had been getting hard to shift for awhile, I thought it was just from the cold weather (I live in mn) but it finally went out, my car completely not start, so I had it towed to a mechanic, and they told me it was my shifting cable. That little socket is 4 light bulb for the automatic
The wire at 3:53 looks like it is possibly for a bulb for the gearshift indicator lamp.
Possibly because mine isn't working 😂

For manual or aitomatic gear shift cable? Shoukd be a Phillips head screw fir plastc bushing assembly.
