This board had so much synergy I'm surprised no one went for this route- 1) Buy greases. 2) Pick up backhand blades. 3) Immediately go to ADM, killing igon on the way. 4) After killing ADM, upgrade backhand blades and port to dane and kill him. Doing this you have acquired ADM, +0 weapon kill, backhand kill, 2 DLC armour sets and 3 DLC weapons not to mention you are set up for hand to hand square. So the score becomes 5 and 1 set up. Sure you might miss out on a few of these because of the time required but it is a comparatively high reward play for not that much of a high risk. Maybe I'm missing something which is why these veteran players didn't go for this play?
Another tense game, it really was the Dane incident that decided it. Also the shields was a great play by Chris! I think NPT could have won if he prepped both squares since by that point it was obvious Chris was doing the same and I think he was ahead on the total even with dying on Hippo!
Interesting endgame for sure. Spoilers below... I think Chris constantly switching around and progressing both squares to almost completion is the right strategy with the amount of lead he had, but the final moments of fumbling around could've easily costed him especially if Tom had went with a similar approach. Getting information from the squares your opponent marked is definitely becoming more of a theme in this season
Crazy that at the end if Tom didn't pivot again with Chris that he could of got bottles done and then had a boss race for Hippo. Would of been his only chance of a comeback after that early incident
Minor spoilers but trying to be vague... I think this game shows how we're at the point where even small mistakes early on can compound into no win scenarios late. It's not bad or anything but it's impressive how consistently many squares come down to only a few second difference to matter.
End game thoughts: . . . . I think Casters and NPT overestimate Death on Hippo since Chris already had 3 Bottles and was close to Grace beside Florisax when NPT Died on Hippo while having 0 Bottles, so if he would get job done on First try - Chris would never had to pivot into doing Lion, thus marking 4 bottles even faster. Chris wasted quite some time on run to Lion + Dying there too. NPTs deaths on Dane in fact have changed the outcome and potentialy reduced match time from 12/13-12/13 to 13-8 score. GG
So Domo, invaders/player-like npc's have the same rulings as pvp combat. As a player you also get hyper armor when 2handing certain weapontypes. I often see these godlike pve players struggle on the npc bosses, while they are insanely easy to "cheese" if you have some knowledge about pvp prio's, poise values and such. Might be useful for players to look into
52:05 Sounded like Chris was telling Domo to shut up. 😂
SPOILER SHIELD 🛡
The hero we need.
Wow now I know there are shields in this game... Smdh

DrDoot is such an underrated commentator imo. Super informative about the game and meshes well with Domo!
Great game, Chris is just a beast this season

I wouldn't call the Dane Fumble a small mistake
@@BOOMDIGGER all it took was slightly mistiming a dodge/block.
i was kinda hoping that NPT would manage to achieve that comeback, that would have been incredible. Great match, intense until the very last second!

For the benefit of the commentators and viewers, could we maybe have referees marking progress on the multiple goal squares?
Yeah I think either this or requiring the players to do it like they do with regular squares would make for better viewer experience overall
Dope edit! I can watch this every day!
It all can fall apart so fast for one player this season. Bingus is cruel.
That ending was far too stressful
Spoiler Torch 🕯️

Great video and match again, cheers
"the umm ahhh hhhh ummm hmm "
I think NPT had this if he managed his play, the triple square synergy woulda been decisive.
I love bingus
Dr Doot was really slacking on his co-commentator duties. Nice shirt Dom.
True, he does not know what he is talking about
NiceShirtDom
So this guy just forever doesnt do face cam?
at this point I made peace with the idea that NPT is a VTuber basically
Is aggy out he lose twice??
still in group stages, everyone plays everyone and then 3 best records go to playoffs I think? this is round 2 of 9 for groups.
