- In every society, there are specific segments of the population that try a new product or adopt a new behavior at different stages. Early adopters are quick to try a new product before anyone else while laggards are the last to try something and may not try it at all. In this short video, we introduce you to each of these different types of people in society and explain why they try new things when they do.

Thank you for making this concept simple and clear.
Short, simple and understandable. Thankyou
7 year ago. Recognize the voice. The narrator is a world famous comedian now. Can't remember his name but for sure his voice.
I’ve got a presentation coming up! This video helped tremendously. Thank you
Simple and informative. Thanks.
Thanks, you made it easier .
Useful and easy to understand.👏 Thanks
Thankyou, this was really helpful and I didn't understand diffusion the first time round in my lecture
Great video and style
short and precise. well done
well explained, well detailed, clearly understood in preparation of exams
funny how sometimes a laggard who is so devoid of exposure to media, can be the innovator that comes up with a unique original idea
great job.thank you.
Short and sweet...
Nice one.
This video is a useful and simple explanation of diffusion of innovations and how we can tailor marketing based on the type of adopter/group. I look forward to sharing it with my colleagues. I wonder if the video can be edited slightly so the different groups are made of people with different skin tones, instead of all the people in the “laggers” group having brown skin tones.
all the people in all of the groups have brown skin tones not just the laggards? Don't try to pick a fight with everything!?
@@gabrielledavies9606 I mean it’s a true and honest observation. Maybe let people point out an obvious difference?
I'd recommend downloading it yourself and publishing it as unlisted. I actually did that with a video about a sorting algorithm that had an editing error.
Thanks for make me understand
Where can I learn more about this?
Thank you for this. A question: What does the gap in the curve between the Early Adopters and the Early Majority represent?
It represents the difficulty of bringing something from the brave few to the masses. Like more (completely is a little ways off) automated cars are being used by some of the brave few, but marketers have to figure out how to get the average consumer to start buying them.
Interestingggg!!!
It works thanks 😊
Hello! Thanks for thr great video. This is the first time I encountered this theory, since my supervisor asked me to read on this theory. I am interested if anyone could like call and learn together about this theory, just for once. I understand a bit, but I am quite confused on which part of this behaviour etc could be applied for my own study.
the laggards are cool!✊🏾
NICE!!!!
Understandable
Trying to figure out what my JoAnn consumers should be. Late Majority perhaps?
yes! it's hard but smart :)
Sir can I ask question ❓ about the Difference of adoption, rejection and discontinuance and the example of each? Pls. Thanks
Hi Joy Baron, yes; please state your question.
Interesting
Cool video and explanation but wrong percentage for the early adopters. It should be 13.5%.
Wiz, wiz, it’s time to waz
In terms of trends, I choose to be a laggard or the later majority. I didn't play Fortnite until it was past its prime, and I didn't start dabbing until it started to become less popular.
In your graphic of the adoption curve, 1% of the population is missing! - @ 0:33
Other references show 13.5% for the early adopters.
You are right!
Second percentage is 13.5
Sir, where does lacking 1% go?
it should be 13.5% for the early adopters ^ ^
The numbers add up to 99%, is there a reason or is that a mistake...?
The early adopters should be 13,5%
Aliens
wait-a-minut!!! Why are all the laggards Black... ?
Aliyu Ahmed all good, their indian dont worry
I'm sorry to say but the percentage at 0:35 is wrong. It should be 13.5% for the Early Adopters.
I think its basically more about the, explanation of the Rogers adoption model. But your right!
Heyyo, class
Not picking, but Rogers was a Rural SOCIOLOGIST, not psychologist.
Is their a specific reason that all of the late adopters or "laggards" appear to be African American?
Could you please tell me which race each of the other groups appear to be to you? I'm super curious how you segment these multi-colored illustrations in your head.
Because all of the other groups appear to be mixed. Only the Laggards were ALL one color and that color is brown. The same brown that I see when I look in the mirror. Not saying it was intentional. Racism is even on a psychosomatic level.
Thank you, Levi.
Both innovators are brown-skinned too.
cos they look better in red
