    I'm following. However, the color in the hole is not disappearing when brought over the image as it did in the video as I am going step by step. I have tried a few different holes and still the same. Seems like a step is missing. I will keep looking

      I understand.
      Here's the reason why it happens:
      YOU USED AN ELEMENT THAT IS NOT WITH A HOLLOW HOLE. Elements/Photos with colored holes cannot be removed by BG REMOVER. Please notice that in my tutorial, I used a HOLLOW ELEMENT TORN PAPER HOLE.
      I recommend, TO USE A HOLLOW [transparent hole] TORN PAPER HOLE in doing this effect to get the best result. If in case you want to change the color of the paper, you can use Duotone.

      Ok, I will look for another hole that seems transparent. That may be the difference in what I did. But I thought I grabbed the same one. I'll update you
