Dodgy call for sure, but at the same time Josh won a point serving while Michelle was clearing a rolling ball so it's not exactly the most serious match of all time.

Does club mean something different there? Like semi-pro? In the US club usually means recreational and refers to NTRP3-4.5 or UTR3-8. Josh could definitely have played some college.

No club means club, it’s that your tennis technique is really bad compared to EU lol, the players you’d judge of “very high level” or “incredible” there in the US, are just normal players here in EU, for example, your NTRP 1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0 here in Italy is NC (Not Classified), our ranks start from the equivalent of your 3.5, Winston Du would be a mid to high 4th category here which is a level even 60/70 year olds play at.

First, the dude puts his opponent to sleep by making 1000 bounces. Then he doesn't let the ball rise and slaps it immediately to catch the opponent off guard. Great strategy.
If Josh played completely serious without toying around with her, it wouldn't be even close, in my opinion. He knew before the game who would win this. No doubt.

Josh you gotta use topspin and placement on serve more often with female players because they can adapt to flat fast pace which they’re used to in the WTA. Michelle did very well to handle the power. 😂

Naw, ground strokes are what makes or breaks as a pro. His grounds strokes are not even close to male pro level. Not consistent enough. She also choked up a bit, and he got lucky on a couple of returns where he just took wild swings and it went it. He knows it.
Nah his serve technique certainly not pro level.
Simply, Josh tennis skills can be very similar to a very good third series of tennis. First series are ATP Pro from 1 to 500 rank; second series from 501 rank to a lot of people that don't have never played or conquered 1 Atp point but that are very good into National tournaments. Third series are tennis club players. The strongest of them beat sometimes second series players that don't have played ATP tournaments.
For beating WTA Pro Is Just necessary a very good third series tennis club player like Josh.
To explain with facts my words, I remember when I was younger to have seen two italian sisters, WTA Pro, Mair sisters, ranked that time around 400th/500th training with a male italian sparring ranked 3.2 on Italian National ranking. When they played matches for training the 2 sisters coudn't win a point on a row. I remember also their italian coach telling to italian sparring "Please, hit the ball with less speed"

Two confirming observations: a decent man can beat a very good woman even when joking around and women are poor sports/sore losers. One additional point, taking what I said too seriously would be a let fault. :)

It’s always impressive watching good female tennis players - even their double handed backhands are good, which I personally hate in men’s tennis. The women’s game really benefited massively from the wider beam graphite (or non wood) rackets.
