- I took a walk to Book Off Shinsaibashi in Osaka, exploring all four floors and checking out their range of second hand video games, vinyl, CDs, DVDs, books, manga and more. This place is a goldmine for anyone into Japanese pop culture, with something for collectors of all kinds.
Book Off is definitely worth a visit if you're into hunting for hidden gems and like to browse physical stores and shelves rather than buy online. I was especially excited to find an Ashita no Joe tankobon that I’ve been looking for.

No way, I didn't know that.
Thats the bookoff i often went to! If you have the time, please go to the café Ujien in Shinsaibashi 🥰 Its a 2 story store and the café is on the second floor. I used to work there for a long time.
I just looked it up. Seems like maccha is the speciality? I haven't had anything like that in a while. I'll keep an eye out.
@TravellingBritishGuy Matcha and Hojicha 😊 Fresh from Uji
Book-offs are real treasure troves in nerdy stuff. Thanks for the fun video.
As you mentioned, Ashita no Joe was not published in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump, but in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine which is kind of biggest competitor to Jump.
Cool, that's the one that's sometimes just called マガジン right?
You gotta try that Osaka kush 😂😂😂
They sell a lot relics from past
Yeah that's why I love it 😁
70 cents for a manga.. Damn. And here I bought a japanese-version of SBR, which retails for 440 Yen, for 15 euros xD
I've been there, importing manga to the UK 😂 it's nice to be on the right side of prices now
Hello! are all mangas written in Japanese version at BOOKOFF?
Hi, I didn't see any English ones on this trip to Book Off. I think they're quite rare. I am planning on going to other book shops soon. Online is probably still the best place for them. All the ones I saw here were Japanese.
