Kickers have always been an issue for a ton of teams over the years. Just as Bills fans, as well as fans of other teams where their kicker missed an important/game-winning/game-tying kick, or the kick gets blocked. The fickle nature of FG kicking has always been part of the game.
Again, this is a REBUILD year. This isn’t a “we’re all in on a Super Bowl” year. This is still a learning experience for the coach, Sam, the team. Just relax, we’ll get there!

Last, FWIW, I am so impressed by the talent the Vikes have in its front-7 that I would much prefer to re-sign the free agents and, if necessary, replace Flores with a DC who would run a similar system.

I cannot believe you are promoting KAM getting an extension. He will, but he should not. The free agent signings on defense should be credited towards Flores for his talent evaluation ability. KAM’s misses on the draft are legendary. A team is primarily built through the draft; free agents should be the gravy not the main course. His trades are garbage: for example, his trade for Hockenson was total miss which was why Detroit made him available. We gave a 2 and 3 (which KAM would have missed on) to have the chance to sign a very expensive TE. I would rather Tyler Conklin at $7 million and have the extra $10 million to dump into signing two OGs or a defensive tackle. We could have stood pat in the 2022 draft and fixed our center issue by drafting Tyler Linderbaum, but KAM had to prove to everyone how clever is (similar to Spielman). When he drafted Ingram with a 2, my buddy immediately texted me that he was rated as 4th or 5th rounder. KAM has a love affair with big program players and high profile prospects which consistently has led to misses. D. Turner is likely a miss which is why he was falling in the draft. Micah P and Willie Anderson were only 4 and 6 months older and performed well their first year. Hopefully, he works out but he is not looking like he was worth what we gave up to get him. Finally, he should have insisted on a team option for a second year with Sam Darnold in case he blew up like has. We had all of the leverage at that point and should have capitalized on that.

We could have stood pat in the 2022 draft and fixed our center issue by drafting Tyler Linderbaum, but KAM had to prove to everyone how clever is (similar to Spielman). When he drafted Ingram with a 2, my buddy immediately texted me that he was rated as 4th or 5th rounder. KAM has a love affair with big program players and high profile prospects which consistently has led to misses. D. Turner is likely a miss which is why he was falling in the draft. Micah P and Willie Anderson were only 4 and 6 months older and performed well their first year. Hopefully, he works out but he is not looking like he was worth what we gave up to get him. Finally, he should have insisted on a team option for a second year with Sam Darnold in case he blew up like has. We had all of the leverage at that point and should have capitalized on that.
