I’m a ex heroin addict still recovering, been clean for probably 7 months now on methadone but I can confirm from using fentanyl and heroin for 3 years (started when I was late 19) I’m 22 now and I’m extremely immature for my age at first I didn’t notice it until I quit. They say that the age you start opiates is the age you have mentally and it lasts for a few years I think I’m not sure I just know it’s somthing like that. But right now at 22 years old about to be 23 in December I still feel like I’m 19-18 mentally it’s the weirdest thing and it fucking sucks, every interview I go to now I bomb it because I just can’t communicate like a 22 year old I act so much younger than I am. Don’t pick up the needle because I promise you once you start you will never stop. If it wasn’t for methadone I would be back on the streets panhandling, and begging with a piece of cardboard just to not be sick. It’s not worth it.
