Thank you so much! This rendered a beautiful technique for the bottom of the bag. I'm trying to figure out the math. After creating the base, you have 66 stitches, having started with 32 chain stitches. I want to make some smaller bags and wondering how to do the math. If I want to make a smaller bag, say one that's more of a coin purse, do you have any idea how many chain stitches to start with and how many to have after the base? Am I confusing you? Does that second number (i.e. 66) have to be divisible by 6? If that's the case, I wonder how you figure out the chain stitches. For example, let's say I know that the full circumference has 48 stitches. How do I figure out how many chain stitches? No worries if you don't reply. Just wondering how to edit this amazing pattern for different sizes.
Hi Stacey! Thanks so much for your question! I do have some notes on changing the size of the bag and some other starting chain lengths that work with the pattern. You can find these in the free pattern on my blog (scroll down to the "bag size" section in the Important Notes." The number of stitches after the increases will have to be divisible by 6 for the mosaic pattern to work out. I hope this info helps. Feel free to send me an email if you have more questions. Thanks! www.loopsandlovecrochet.com/2021/10/03/mosaic-zig-zag-bag-free-crochet-pattern/
