I've been a PC gamer since the early 1990s but in recent years have been fading away from it. I think the pandemic and the subsequent price gouging was the final straw. The cost along with dealing with drivers and updates, gets tiring after a while. I will still continue to enjoy my existing library of PC games (especially American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2) but consoles have gotten so good in recent years and I love the simplicity of the day to day use. I just picked up a PS5 slim this past week after running a PS4 slim the past few years and have also enjoyed my Series X/S consoles as well. My only complaint might be that the DualSense controller seems to have a short battery life. Thanks for the video!
I resonate huge with this. I LOVE my gaming PC but the hardware is dated and it's harder to justify upgrading parts when my PS5/Series X give me mostly what I need.
I'll still always have a gaming PC in truth but consoles have never been in a better spot.

I concur. Gaming PCs have pretty much become an insanely expensive endeavor (mostly due to the GPU). Consoles offer a more than acceptable experience for a fraction of the cost, and with far less hasle in my opinion.
PC gaming is so dang expensive that I don’t even care to have one. Gaming console is a one and done hobby with high replay value. Xbox Series S for $200. Gaming PC can’t even beat that

Thinking of replacing my Apple TV if this does most of the media use as well. Hoping I don’t run into audio issues if I use HomePods as my TV speakers.
How do you plan to connect the PS5 to the HomePods? Totally curious as I'd love to try that out.
@@MinimalisTech eh can’t do it without the Apple TV. LOL I thought the TV’s Airplay or Bluetooth would make it possible, but it’s a pain that has to be done to every time something is connected to the TV. The pass thru setting on Apple TV just lets everything work hassle free.
Do you happen to know the box measurements? I'm asking because of transport planning options but it hasn't been released here yet.

Has an audible hum actually. It’s the disc drive for sure but I don’t have the vertical stand so I believe that may be it. Looking forward to removing the disk drive tho. Just need the replacement plate

Dayum. I’ve used mine loads. Zero lag at all. I saw a tiny amount of people say overheating but it’s not something I’ve experienced.
Are you using it vertical or horizontal too? Just curious.
@@MinimalisTech hmm like with Madden 24 I started noticing how in between plays the players would look glitchy, a bit more usual that I didn’t notice on my OG PS5.. I have mine currently vertical but I wanna try the look of it horizontal!

Okay let's talk brass tacks here how much storage do you really get because you don't get a gig. Just like with the original you don't get 825 you get 667 because 150 of it is the fucking OS so do we really get what is it 850 with the slim
I also play my pc less and less and I love my PS5. Great games and such ease of use. It always feels like hassle going onto PC now

SAME! I think there’s the Dough Spectrum already from B&H (or direct). That has a glossy option. 240hz OLED 1440p if I’m not mistaken

Alienware have got a couple that will be shown at CES in Jan. One of them being a 4k 32inch, which as far as I'm concerned will be the God monitor bar any disasters.@@MinimalisTech
Is it worth it? Well only if you don’t already have one. If you already have a PS5 then nothing to look at here. Just another refresh from Sony as always. Not necessary.
