Building What Dodge Wont | 2021 Charger Magnum Hellcat | 1000HP Hellwagon | Pt 3

- After drilling what felt like a million spot welds I was able to get the Charger stripped down enough to start test fitting the Magnum rear inner structure. I am still waiting on Dodge to figure out what they are going to do about the parts and it is holding up the project which hopefully gets resolved soon so I can get the chassis in high build primer and painted. If you are not following my Patron I have a color poll so check it out and if you want to vote that would be cool too so far the color that is winning is Frostbite Blue.

Now this is a Build in every sense of the word! Dodge needs to get on Board and free up junkyard Dave's parts so he can finish this beast!
I need to mention this JIC, a good way to approach the hatch is to combine the hatch top half with the Charger trunk bottom half. Just chop off most of the horizontal surface of the trunk, then let it latch into place on the charger. That'll keep it in place for when the hatch comes into play.
If you chop the hatch below the rear window and bolt it back on it's hinges, you'll be able to see where it meets up with the trunk, then chop the excess and weld what's left.
The results should be cleaner and easier than patch panels or what-not. Plus you keep the charger's bodyline intact all the way around with that swooping tail section.
Good job with the work done so far. You'r really showing how patience, a clear head, and understanding can seriously simplifiy a job like this to the point of feasibility. Love your vids, brother. Keep up the good work.
I came here to say the exact same thing. Don't relocate the Charger tail lights farther out to fit the hatch, graft the Magnum hatch to the Charger trunk bottom. I imagine that the biggest issue here would probably be getting a proper seal around the hatch so that it doesn't leak where the transition happens.
You sir are the Almighty Master Mopar fabricator!!!! This is an incredibly inspiring project that requires a ton of skill and knowledge.
It’s crazy that Dodge never made a hellwagon.
Hellcat Durango comes out next year so who know there may be a hellcat wagon or truck next
Its probably because the Track hawk is basically the new "wagon" at this point. Today's market is for cross over and SUV. I'm a fan of the wagons, especially the CTS-V. However the saying goes. Supply & demand.
who wants a wagon, this is the modern age it’s either coupe, sedan, suv or trucks
That's a good name for it too
Widows Spouse car guys want wagons
Dave, greetings from the owner of 2008 Magnum SXT AWD V6 3.5. You are building my dream Magnum! Thank you for the great amount of work hours you are putting in. It is really interesting to witness the progress.
@Sakhatrucker from Calgary, AB
@8:21, I believe it, your attention to detail is really crazy. You aren’t using the mantra “if all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail.” You’re using a lot of finesse technique instead of brute force. The final product will reflect that along with prep work along the way.
For all of those workers in the world, I want to be the first one to say from roots my heart ❤❤ congratulations in our worker's day ✌💪💪❤
Now that I see this I want to put someone up to the challenge to make a hot hatch Dodge Dart, yet another car that’ll never come to fruition
Put a 300c panoramic moon roof on it. That would be 🔥, love the build bro keep it up
Agreed
Inductor is pretty cool, Dave. It makes the job of pulling panels so much easier.. great investment!
That inductor looks like it's worth its weight in gold on a project like this
I'd like to know where to get one of those
You may wind up being like Rich Rebuilds to the point Dodge is watching and plotting at the same time. Lol. Awesome build brother. Keep up the great work.
Rich Rebuilds has the Tesla game locked down
Damn. Dave is like a surgeon with those body panels.
Your hard work and effort toward that project gives my goosebumps goosebumps 😬♥️ Can't wait to see it finished.
I just stumbled upon this on part 3. As soon as I saw magnum and hellcat together instant view and sub 👍👍 already excited to see her finished.
Somebody needs to add this dude to the magnum mafia.
This is so crazy! It's almost there! 🤯
Beautiful just beautiful
I don’t know how I end up I’m your channel I’m sure happy to be here now this is the type of build that need to be at SEMA
I love that you're being so meticulous with this, drilling out the spot welds, trying to save as much of the structure as possible. Any other youtuber would be doing tube chassis and saying "look what we made! hurr durr...." Keep it up, Dave! Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Seeing the quarter skins on there makes me really wanna see the decklid of the original grafted in so there's this subtle ducktail in the hatch. (Think Malibu MAXX)
an air chisel works great to remove the spot welds. i removed a firewall once and started with a spot weld drill attachment. after going through a dozen bits, i finally used an air chisel and i cut my time in half.
Been waiting for your next upload🤘thanks Dave. Loving this build
There's another guy on youtube doing a build like yours. Can't wait to see them both finished.
I like how you are reconstructing your own version of the charger magnum awesome 👍🏿😎
Would be really awesome if you made a 2 door while you are chopping!!! Would look so much better!
Love it so far Dave 😁😁😁🥰
Hello slick, shoes are not oily enough for this swap. But it is coming soon. You are doing a fantastic job with this project. Thanks
can't wait to see this monster of a car finally Finnish and on the road
Man those mini belt sanders are a life saver. Used one to remove the quarter panel on a cadillac cts.
Gotta love watching these shops with thousands of dollars in tools and still sweep the floors with a kitchen broom.😜
two suggestions for future builds 1. a modern version of a rampage . 2. Mexican ramcharger. keep up the great work
Such a cool build! I’m so excited to see the end result! Brilliant!!
B is for Build would get in on this for sure!
You know what’s odd, with so many people always yelling,” Mopar or no car!” I’m surprised none of them has presented your channel. 🧐
Looking good Dave. That looks like a lot of work removing those panels.
Can't wait for the next video nice work dave love the project 🥰🤟👍.
Dodge executives are sweating right now
They either need to hop on board or have the Dave drain leave them at the station
I’d bet if enough people sent this video series to their marketing or media relations department that he would get recognition. Possibly a SEMA spot or something similar.
This is true but it would have to be thousands and if there was enough interest they might even consider producing the car but the numbers would have to be there and they are not unfortunately
@@RadDadisRad it's all about profit and unfortunately, unlike across the pond, the USA doesn't seem interested in buying estate cars
Just imagine Dave if Dodge reaches out to you and ask you to show this off for them at SEMA? OMFG yes, you so deserve this to happen all the hardwork will one day pay off. Keep up the great work!!
This man is going to make a beast, not even dodge has the idea of coming up with a Dodge Magnum Hellcat.
Coming along really well great progress your work is top rate
Holy crap bro... i love what your doing and the end result is exactly what i want as well... but jeeeebus christmas thats a lot of work....
hats of to you sir...oddly satisfying to watch someone else do the hard work!!
Love all of your videos, can't wait to see the next one. Keep up the good work.
Amazing build just got my all metal widebody back from the shop.
Such a great series. Been waiting for a new upload while watching all of your F350 rebuild videos. Hope you get the support you're looking for. Leave the dodge info in your next video description and maybe some of us can start contacting them with you!
2020 Chellcat Wagon 🤘💯🖤
Your content is even better then last time I checked in. Your doing great
This is the samething I wanted to do. Good luck. It's gonna be great. In final, your bringing back the 2004 concept car that started all this... Minus the viper frame lol. Love it!!!!
Can’t wait to see it all finished🔥🔥🔥
In excited for where this goes @mopar send out the parts!!!!!!
You got this Dave with your getter done adatood. Thanks for sharing
Dave you have a lot of patience, nice work and progress!
Send it too sema when its finished dave
Dodge indeed made a wagon which out matched most, granted it was in 71, dodge coronet wagon, but that was nearly 50 years ago, a demon hell wagon today would be nice with many updated features and tech, that would out class a Mercedes
You might be waiting on those quarters a while. The SRT department/warehouse is closed for Covid19 if that’s where those fenders/quarters are coming from. Thats what I’ve heard.🤷🏼♂️
Nice work Dave 👍
I think Dodge shoud bring these back i have a buddy that has one and hangs on to it like grim death he has had it over 9 years
Can't wait to see it when it's done my friend 🏁✌🏿✊🏽🏴☠️
Taking shape. Gonna look nice.
You need Mopar stamped fenders, rear doors(skins) and donor front/rear fascias for the flares to mimic a widebody. Not impossible but tricky. Good luck 👍
It's all already ordered
Great work Dave....been waiting since Sunday for this to drop..
good job can't wait to see it finally done, keep up the good work.
I always dreamt of doing the exact same thing to cars west coast customs sort of stuff haha love from Ireland
What attention to detail 💯, I have OCD about my work as well so I know how much it means to do it right the first time 💯. Great job 👍, love your channel brother, just Awesome 👍
Love the builds your a freaking genius .
Damn, you get to have all the fun!
Lookin good can't wait to see it together take care and stay safe and stay blessed see you in the next one
Way to go Dave. Keep the vids coming on this project.
I love doing what you do. You are a mad scientist! You do a good job at it too. If I was close to you, I'd be your intern/ helper to learn the trade of modding, wiring, fitting and just plain body repair. I have a G8 GT that needs some love.
Good luck dude i wish you the best
You know how to get work done!
Someone commented your channel on Instagram and I'm hooked I do work like this my self for a body shop so pretty bad ass keep going on the project I'd love to see it done
Blessed up dave!!! Loving it im really happy someone is doing this type of builts, something dodge is over looking ,but thank u for the bad ass videos man, stay safe stay blessed brotha
I’ve said dodge should do this. This is gonna be epic
nice progress
I hope this will work out, it would be great to see a job like this done properly, not like B is for Build throwing the old body on the new mustang.
youre doing gods work!! cant wait to spend hours on the internet and pretend like i might be able to pull somthing similiar off
holy crap what a dam good idea!!!!!!
I think if it was mine, and I’m not telling you what to do, I’d use the whole roof from the A pillar back from the magnum with it’s quarters, rear gate, the floor from the grand Cherokee for the AWD platform to bolt to, and get the wide body under fenders, use an English wheel to bulge out the magnum quarters to fit over the wide body inners.
Good work
Cool, curious on how the passenger door and glass is going to fit. Are you going to use charger door skin on magnum skeleton? Will the glass surround match the charger pillar? Can't wait to see it.
Im going to use half and half
I'm planing on building a mk2 vw 2 door jetta with a awd r32 drivetrain.
WOW!! Mad skills and determination! SUBSCRIBED & LIKED! Watching it to the end. I'm a Chevy guy but you have to admit, DODGE is putting some wicked cool cars on the road! Recently picked up a 2015 Dodge Durango Citadel V6. Excellent car!
Hell yeah it's coming together can't wait to see the next video 👌👍
Awesome work bro keep doing your thing you are 💪20/20 bro
I WANNA SEE HOW THIS ENDS UP.!! nice content 👌👌👌
Interesting concept vehicle.
YOU ARE OFFICIALLY MY MOPAR MAD SCIENTIST....Mopar did put out some amazing renderings of this and I could bet my left nutt ( that is some where in Iraq) you already have seen the pics. You are truely the best builder I have seen yet. Keep up the great work And I hope the guys and gals at Dodge Mopar and SRT devision could help and donate parts and lend a hand some way. To help bring Daves vision to REALITY. GOODSPEED
Dave you r a Trip! I'm watching.
Please tell me you're going to be using the newer charger tail light
Yes and all the factory wide body
@@BIasterXD it's because I'm from the future lol
@@Junkyard_Dave That's probably because of all the fast-forwarding we see in your videos.
Cant wait for Dave to get a 500k salary job at Dodge
You're a mad man Dave!
Great build, love the video. What's that tool you are using to heat up the seam sealer?
Crazy sick bro!!!
Appreciate it!!
Love the build! Is this beauty heading to sema this year?
THIS IS GONNA BE BADASS!!!
great job dave,,,, did you fetch spare shoes and socks, funniest thing ive seen in a while
Dave you're not fukin around I fucken love it!..
This is one of the best things ever the only thing that would make this even better Is if you put a 6 speed manual in it👀
The HP95 only comes in auto
Dude you are the master!
Now this is a project!
