Anyone else have problems installing rod seals with a seal twistor? Both of the (BRAND NEW) seals I had just crumbled apart the second I tried bending them at all.
I am from China Seals Factory. Our company produces many types of hydraulic oil seals. If you are interested in our products, we can send you free samples so that you can learn more about our products.
Hi Thomas, here are the links for ordering: Small seal install tool, .7" - 1.187" seals, www.shortlineparts.com/seal-install-tool-small.html Medium seal install tool, 1-3/16" - 2" seals, www.shortlineparts.com/seal-install-tool-medium.html
You do not need that silly complicated tool to put a rod seal in. If the pressure seal is thicker than 8mm then soak in hot water for 5 minutes otherwise just squeeze in with your fingers. Do not use anything sharp!
I placed the seals in hydraulic oil heated up in a very clean tuna fish can. When done oil goes in oil squirt can and not wasted. Go gently as possible make sure they're in right order and direction. Nice tool if doing this often.
Rob I have a question. I see companies using grease for assembly. I also know hydraulic systems are very sensitive to just any grease. Do you know what kind of grease and are you also able to use petroleum jelly? My hydraulic system using ATF so i was curious on your input. Thanks

@@brianb5779 Silicone grease is the only type to use. But use sparingly. It's what we sell to our customers.
@Rob Austin Really appreciate the info and response Rob. I have a tube of pure silicone grease so ill try it. Thanks again
