what about Hoest from Taake? that dude's corpsepaint is some of the most intricate and effective i've seen.
In the early 60s Screaming Lord Sutch used to paint his face white to look like a ghost and there was a band named Dragonfly, in the late 60s, and the members used to paint their faces in black and white very similar to what kiss did later.
LMAO...the burning church in the back of Mayhem but, above all, the perplexed woman while showing Kvitrafn of Gorgoroth corpse paint!
Pretty cool video, though it'd be nice if there were some more examples to use in between Immortal and Gorgoroth (correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Gorgoroth use corpse paint before 2008?). The Deafheaven inclusion made me laugh.

Glad to see Sarcofago get some recognition, seeing how their brand of thrash largely influenced the black metal scene in Norway. I wish you used the song "Nightmare" instead but still it's awesome to see them cited.

Seriously, in my mind, 1349 should either be 1997 (the year they were formed) or 2005 (the year their first well received album, "Hellfire" [along with the sample track used called "I Am Abomination"] came out).

I remember the 70s bands , but very VERY few people knew who mercyfull fate was and hellhammer from 80s, haten it was the 80s totally univited ,misguided little bastards , your not invited, Um not to mention people who listened to metal then were into scorpians, judas priest ,black sabbath ,they didnt like mercyful king or diamonds fate , i always found um sabbath fans to be the most open minded , back then anyways', laughin! ,i think cause the um, prodution on those albums people didnt get into,, It wasnt hellion guitar tone or screaming for vengence gigantosaur tone, hellion (priest) was more gigantasaur and truth about nephillom its short prehistoric opening depiction ,and no lyrics ,
