Actually a lot of horses comprehend exactly what they need to do. Also I know horses love it. I have done this event with an 8 year old stallion and he love it, soaks up the attention. It blows off steam also, if its been a long show week in a barn. Its really not stupid, its gorgeous to watch. Don't judge something you're clearly uneducated about.

It depends on the horse. If a horse goes to a gate and has its back to the owner and doesn't want to go back and run, he is most likely over pressured and or scared. The horses that run with the beat and show off are the ones most likely to be enjoying themselves. I personally prefer natural horsemanship as in bareback and bridless with an unbreakable bond.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. Let's run these horses around an arena, put pressure on them with no release and no purpose that the horse can comprehend. Really really stupid. Grow a brain, people.
