- Since the Revival of the East Broad Top in February 2020, East Broad Top started restoring EBT 2-8-2 #16 which has not ran since the closure of the East Broad Top in 1956. While the other locomotives 12, 14, 15, 17 & 18 will follow for restoration, the volunteers took 3 years to complete the restoration of 16 and in the beginning of February 2023, 16 moved under its own power for the first time. The volunteers had the engine ready just in time to debut for the East Broad Top Winter Spectacular on February 18th-19th, 2023. In This Video, we watch as 16 comes to life out of the roundhouse, followed by a morning freight train to Colgate Grove and then running roundtrip excursions to Colgate Grove and back to Rockhill Furnace. As a Bonus, we got a couple shots of the M-1 running to the Grove and back. Enjoy!
Filmed on February 18th-19th, 2023.

My special needs son is overjoyed that the East Broad Top railroad is up and running again and hopes that real soon the entire line is restored as well as all the other steam locomotives 🚂.
Steam. Is. Back.
Nice coverage of the return of steam to East broad top!
If you can make a donation to EBT. I remember going on the train in 1979 right after we were married. My wife is gone now but I made a donation of 20000 in her memory
Thanks for the great video of #16 Ethan - it’s really great to see her back on track after all those years! 👍👍
Great video, and awesome coverage!
Thanks
I sure miss the ex PRR man with the twisty mustache that ran out there for ages. He was great and gave you a good show too.
great stuff as always, good seeing you
Same to you
If you’d made me bet, my money would have been on everything being sold off piecemeal and maybe a small portion of the structures kept for preservation or converted to businesses. I never would have thought the EBT would have this renaissance!
