Actually Calypso never trick MInion he only out smarted him in his own game, before he was the host of the Twisted Metal tournament he was a drepesing and sad guy by the name William Sparks he was alwasys greving the sweet releaf of death since he was responsible of his sister death, sow what better whay to kill himself then participating in demoliton derbys, sadly for him he was too good of a driver to die.Time went by and Calpyso life was getting better he was wining a lot of turnnaments and he even have a loving family sadly everthing would change, on one day a terrible accident hapend on the hallway in witch a lot of people died including Calypso and his family. Calypso went to Hell and was chased by a demon named Minion, but eventually Minion lost to him. Satan, who saw the whole thing, was impressed: he gave Calypso a drink, which turned him into the man we know him as today, and told Calypso to be the host of a demolition derby that would have more souls to come to Hell. The winner, however, would get one wish, no matter the price, size or even reality. Calypso ran the tournament for 10 years, during which much suspicion was raised about him and his tournament, mainly because the wishes always seemed to backfire at the winners, usually killing them. Because of this, many agencies such as Interpol and the CIA started to investigate the tournament and attempting to arrest Calypso, but to no avail. The only way anyone could ever get near Calypso was by winning the Twisted Metal tournament. Calypso would grant any wish the winner desired, no matter what it is, even distorting reality to grant it. However, he would usually make so that the wish would backfire at the winner, causing harm not only to him, but as many people as possible, usually killing them. This was his method of gathering souls. However, Calypso must grant the winner's request, even if he doesn't want to (a fact that has been used against him on a few occasions, see below). Aslo de are other facts about Sweet Tooth that Death Battle did not cover but its not about if he was about to win its juts some more things about Sweeth Tooth himself. it is reveald by Minion (how is actually Marcus Kane) that all the events that hapen in Twisted Metal: Black is all set in Sweet Tooth mind, witch means that he see the world of Twisted Metal with a depressing and violent colors. It is very danguros for Marcus and Nedless Kane to meet each other if that hapens they well have acces to the most powerfull of Sweet Tooth vehicles the Tower Tooth and trust me it packs both heavy weapons and sturdy armor. Well yeah at some point Sweet Tooth did manege to get a cure for his curse, this cure was made out of the blood of the same Preacher that curse him in the first place (the Preacher was also participating in the turnament, this reason for that do he wanted to clear is name also his real name is Jebidiah) but this cure came with a cacth if he were to ever go back to is killing ways the antidote would were off of curse it only took him all of 10 seconds to think what to do sow he smash the cure and also killd Calypso on spot.

I loved Joker all my life, and I exclusively played as Sweet Tooth in Twisted Metal back on PS1, so I was very hyped for this battle. I'm always going to choose Joker, though, so I'm very satisfied with this outcome.
Yes! Those extra ten seconds were all it took to reason things out and see the winner. I'm happy you got this one right, since it's a tough call at first glance. The next episode has fantastic connections and potential, but is a bit squandered due to a severe budget cut. The battle is extremely short. I still enjoy it, though.
Here is the best description for Twisted Metal. A demolition derby with guns and rockets added. And the prize to the victor is one wish for anything. No matter the size, cost or even reality. But you best be careful what you wish for as Calypso will twist your wish.
fun fact! in a crossover with 'the authority' (which was one of the original 'superheroes who kill' comics before it got addicted to dark and edginess), the joker fought their version of batman, the midnighter. his power? he has a supercomputer in his head that lets him fight every battle a thousand times and predict every outcome. But when he tried it on the joker he could just only stare as it bluescreened.
Joker is terrifying. When he murdered the second Robin it was incredibly brutal. Also Batgirl is the first Robin’s girlfriend, not Batman’s. The relationship is on and off all the time.
I think there are factors that Death Battle tend to underestimate or ignore, such as time manipulation or (in this case) intelligence. But this is one of the few (if not the only) times they actually considered how advantageous intelligence can be.
While I agree Joker would win, this is definitely one of those death battles that shows why the actual fight they show is just for entertainment's sake and not actually supposed to depict how a fight between the two characters would go. Kinda like Tails/Luigi or Flash/Quicksilver, the result was correct but how they portray it happening in the animation isn't.
This is honestly my biggest problem with Death Battle. Too many times, they've gone out of their way to display a character's actions as being out-of-character just for the sake of spectacle/rule of cool or outright misunderstanding. My best example of this is actually Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Kakashi. In that fight, they portray Obi-Wan as being way to show-y and destructive with his Force abilities, something Anakin or any Sith would be, instead of the tactical genius who uses the Force with minimal effort to achieve maximum results. And I'm not saying Obi-Wan is weak in the Force, he's clearly not. He just don't display it openly.
@@Rubyshedinja33 Sorry, what point of mine is this referencing exactly? I feel like I've missed a step. If you're saying that without the over-the-top spectacle and overdramatic emphasis on the move-set and powers of a character, the fights between characters would be boring, then I'd argue not so; *if* the fight was done properly. With Kenobi and Kakashi, the speed difference isn't _that_ great that they had to sacrifice the characterisation of how Kenobi actually wields the Force in combat in order to entertainingly show him combating a ninja of Kakashi's level. I'm not saying they shouldn't use spectacle and "rule of cool", I'm saying that they want to show us these characters fighting each other, but I feel that the whole meaning of the show is lost when you make any character fight outside of how they would actually fight. It'd be like taking Goku and having him actively use Kryptonite against Superman in order to win; Goku would _never_ do that, they themselves know this. Kenobi didn't need to use the Force in such an overtly destructive way to combat Kakashi, and I doubt he'd ever showboat it. If they put Darth Vader against Yoda in a Death Battle, they'd be stupid to show Vader flipping and jumping around like Yoda does. Because Vader 1) *can't* do that and 2) Vader _wouldn't_ do that because that's not in his character, it's not how he fights, and it's not how he'd fight a blindingly fast blitzkrieg of Lightsaber blows like Yoda. And when done right, showing Vader fighting Yoda in how he'd actually fight, would still be entertaining and suspenseful, just as how they could've had it with Kenobi and Kakashi by emphasising Kenobi's subtle and controlled mastery of the Force to get the better of Kakashi. But of course, Death Battle is an entertainment show, and so they do what they do in order to be as entertaining as possible. And that will be enough for a lot of their viewers. Good o, lots of people get what they want. _And_ a lot of the time they do the characters they're showing justice in their combat behaviour and move-sets. But the times that they don't, it *_shows._*

"batgirl, is that batman's girlfriend?" 1 eww 2 shes half his age (usually batman is in his mid 30s to early 40s and batgirl is usually in her late teens to about mid 20s) 3 more eww but seriously aside from the, to put it politely, kinda unfaithful animated adaptation of "batman, the killing joke" Barbara Gordon (yes daughter of Police commisioner Jim Gordon) is never romantically involved with Batman as far as i know. Batman's usual love interest is Catwoman, or the occasional rich heiress or the daughter of a nigh-immortal warlord assassin/ leader of a whole league of assassins in the very early days of comics (around the 50s i believe) there was a Batwoman who was set to be Batman's love interest but that (if memory still serves) has been retconned out of existence
While Batman is something of an infamous manwhore, he exclusively goes for women his own age (Catwoman, Talia Al-Ghul) or older (Wonder Woman). Unfortunately, with a character who has existed for as long as he has, you inevitably get writers and/or spinoffs that make bad decisions (eg, the animated adaptation of The Killing Joke) that can muddy the waters.
As I recall she and the (I think) original Bat-girl were introduced shortly after "Seduction of the Innocent" came out to make Quite Clear that Batman and Robin were totally straight and not at all in a relationship. They were both pretty uninteresting whose characters revolved pretty much exclusively around that note.
I mean, He did date her in Batman Animated Series, confirmed it in Batman Beyond, and had scenes of it in the movie Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman. I also believe their are several comics which shows them to have had love affairs, a prominent one being a Batman Beyond Comic which was pretty dark.
@@deckire well to adress your points as far as i can tell that "relatioship" was 1 episode of season one of the animated series and a mention in batman beyond in my opinion two fleeting moments does not really make a "love affair", seems more like a crush young girls tend to have on older men im not denying your views i just see it differently as for the comic...well comics are tenuous cannon at best with DC especially ones that take place in the future besides, as bad at explaining things as i am, i was trying to keep it more simple and main stream for Kyle to follow
This one was always interesting to me. There is a legitimate case for sweet tooth winning, that robot should really one shot (apparently it destroyed a dam???). But really, the fight would be over before then. If we're going by the fight shown, it would end as soon as joker got in the fight with sweet tooth imo.
True, but sweet tooth likes to kill his victims up close and personal, and he wouldn’t use his robot against joker from the start, by which joker would take advantage of.
This one lies a little because although Joker has had a "Jokermobile" or two in the past the one showcased here was a hallucination. Overall it doesn't affect the battle, though. Happy Birthday, Ducky.

Most of that backstory for Sweet Tooth came from the Twisted Metal reboot but yea the original series has some wonky continuity like some sequels have every characters backstory be a continuation of their ending from the previous game even though in reality only one of them could have won the previous games tournament.
So big rule of thumb is comic characters have crazy history so they usually win except occasionally to Anime. Also DC typically scales higher than Marvel but not always

"That movie was SO good!" Meh. I love Pokemon and enjoyed the movie, but I would say that movie was at best 6/10. That bit about "Pokemon aren't meant to fight. Not like this." really brings it down. What's next, an anti-breeding message?! (;p) If you want a good Pokemon movie, I'd recommend movies 3, 5 and 8, aka "Spell of the Unown", "Heroes: Latios and Latias", and "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew". That being said Mewtwo was indeed an awesome character^^ Ah, speaking of Mewtwo, another thing that brings the movie down for me; in the Japanese version, there was about 10 minutes extra at the beginning, when they created Mewtwo, we get to see a baby Mewtwo and some other clones interacting telepathically while explaining the reasons for that doctor at creating him in the first place, ultimately ending with a tragedy that was erased from Mewtwo's mind but a faint memory of that awakened after Ash's attempt at stopping him and Mew that made him change his mind. All of that, erased in the dubbed version (and people wonder why so many say that sub is superior, it's not just about the quality of voice acting or whatever, it's the stupid shit censorship does like this right here!). Fortunately, that was brought to the wider world later I believe, on DVDs with the "Mewtwo Returns!" movie, so you can look it up on youtube somewhere.
@@theduckgoesmoo Well duh, I did say I enjoyed it :p I first watched it when I was... 9ish, and I remember it quite fondly. However, it doesn't mean it's without flaws. What's really amazing is that the Joker-voice that has set the industry standard is in the Batman animated cartoon: Mark Hamill...Yes, *That* Mark Hamill. But for real, Joker's biggest schtick is to prove that the only thing that separates himself from any other Joe on the street (which includes literally *everybody*) is One. Really. Bad. Day. -- So, he's become an expert in dishing out really bad days... One of my favorites in Death Battle is Kirby vs. Majin Buu. Wiz: "Kirby is a ravenous cannibal that thrives on the blood of mass murder."
Live action Batman movies: Jack Nicholson in the 1989 Batman movie. Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. You've seen the rest of the live action movie Jokers. Except for the silly, campy Adam West Batman series and movie. Of course, the longest serving Joker is Mark Hamill, with multiple seasons of an animated series, a few animated movies, and a few video games. Playing as the Joker: Usually as either a separate combat challenge mode or a little side part of the main story, at least in the Arkham series. I believe he is a fighter in the Injustice DC fighting game series. Is Batgirl Batman's girlfriend: not in the original version of that story (The Killing Joke), but the animated version gives them a sex scene. I've played a little of Twisted Metal 3 or 4 for PS1, and a lot of Twisted Metal Black for PS2, although I didn't get very far into it. Superman vs Joker: In the scene of Joker kicking Superman, Joker had kryptonite and Superman underestimated him. Is that the Batmobile: It is the Batmobile from Batman: Arkham Knight, the last of the proper Arkham games. Heavily based on the Tumbler Batmobile from the Dark Knight trilogy. Finishing this comment before battle is over to head to stream.
Not only is jokers origin multiple choice, he’s also had several different names attached to him Jack Napier, Arthur fleck, J Veleska, Joe Kurr No I didn’t make that last one up. He did.
Alright I'll just put it out there. You are too young to know about some of the craziest things put in games, animation, or in some cases tv. Twisted Metal started back when I was a kid and I watched the original Batman and Superman series that eventually became the Justice League.
Sad thing is sweet tooth would not have listened to jokers speech, he would have just blasted him because he wouldn't give a shit. I feel as though he would win in a actual fight. Intelligence is only so useful against a unstoppable killing machine. Even if he did fall for the trick, he definitely would've choked joker to death while dying, sweets has the will for it.
except sweet tooth was arrested because he made that exact same mistake in canon, going for the up close and personal kill with a well guarded target. And in the reboot he actually decided to leave the sweet tooth altogether because the machete is just more fun and he REALLY wants to torture Sophie. And joker's survived suffocation when he really shouldn't have before.
@@danielwilson8604 Even if he took the time to get out and grab joker, he smilply would have just ended him without monologuing, and whose to say he would not just snap jokers neck like a twig while dying. I still think hes far more likely to win.

They did Sweet Tooth dirty i mean when he wished to find his daughter he didn't knew she was dead cuz she commited suicide because of all the trauma she suffered from seeing his fahter kill the entire family. Needles isn't a single minded brute, the dude was able to get himsefl an entire gang of killer clowns and most of his incarnations modified the ice cream truck by himself that makes Needles Kane a mechanical genius. Also when they said that "calypso has played him for a fool more times than not" is just false, out of the endings from all the Twisted Metal games only in two of them something bad happens to Sweet Tooth those being Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal for PS3. In all of the other endings Sweet Tooth gets what he wants wich is something noteworthy because Calypso has a tendency to screw over everyone he can when they decide to claim their wish, Heck Sweet Tooth has killed Calypso twice, once in Twisted Metal: Black and the other in Twisted Metal Head On, in this game Sweet Tooth wishes to change bodies with Calypso and he isn't able to come up with something to screw over Sweet Tooth like he usually does to everyone else (Calypso likes to take words way too literally or sometimes out of context on purpose ) and so they change bodies and Sweet Tooth now in Calypso's body tells his guards to shoot Calypso (who is now in Sweet Tooth's body) and with that he takes over Twisted Metal, he also took control of the tournament in Twisted Metal 4 during the entire game. So yeah the whole "Sweet Tooth is dumb because Calypso fooled him in one game" is wrong. Death Battle really misrepresented Sweet Tooth by triying to say he is a dumb brute when he is more than that. In the fight animation Sweet Tooth would have never goten down the Truck because when he fights against another oponents who also use vehicles he ALWAYS finished bussines inside of the truck, also there's no way he would have listenend to the Joker, i mean his catchphrase is "SHUT UP and bleed yo motherfucker" he isn't the kind of person that negociates, once the Jokermobile was destroyed he should have lost, there's no way the Joker would survive getting shot with a machine gun, homing rockets, gas cans, ricochet bombs, etc. The Joker also wouldn't been able to survive a one on one against the Sweet Bot when Death Battle mentioned that the Sweet Bot can take out entire buildings with just its fist. Even with all of that i thing the Joker would still win, not because of the whole "Lol JOukR SmRt n MaNpuLatoR aNd SwEet ToOt is StWUpiD dUmbAss xDxdxdD " BS Death Battle said, but because Joker is from DC and DC characters are OP even the street tiers like the Joker, cus if i remember correctly the Joker once survived a city exploding and he also prolly scales to Batman durability when his suit was able to make him survive another city exploding, also even if im sure he probably also scales to Black Canary and her canary cry (when you get to Black Canary VS Sindel you'll know how powerfull that thing is). Also the Jokermobile they used is literally just the Batmobile painted green i haven't researched the Batmobile but it probably has feats more impresive that the Sweet Truck. I used to tolerate this Death Battle but nowadays i kind of dislike it because it just feels like they overhyped the Joker's intelligence like everyone else does while misrepresenting Sweet Tooth and making him less. The only reason why i sometimes watch this Death Battle is because i miss Twisted Metal, we haven't had a New Twisted Metal game since 2012. When this episode released i was hoping more people would get interested in Twisted Metal like i was (Because i also didn't knew who Sweet Tooth was until this episode was announced and i was intriged by his desing and decided to reseach where he was from and i ended up playing all of the Twisted Metal games minus the one on PS3 and really really liked them.) but unfortunatelly everyone just focused on the Joker and thus Twisted Metal and Sweet Tooth were left on the shadow again :(.

This is one of my favorite Death Battles ever. I love the use of psychological warfare over brute strength
6:13 "One bad day". Very important phrase in most popular version of Joker's backstory. Go watch(or read) killing joke if you wanna know more.
This has to be one of the most horrifying deaths in the series, even if it's also one of the most bloodless.

This DB has a special place in my heart because it was the first one I did a reaction video to myself.
Twisted Metal is a video game series that works like a destruction derby played for keeps.
Honestly the connection with superman was the big decider for me
Here is the best description for Twisted Metal.

@@darkarpatron because most fights would be a character flailing aimlessly at a blur due to the speed difference
But the times that they don't, it *_shows._*

but seriously aside from the, to put it politely, kinda unfaithful animated adaptation of "batman, the killing joke" Barbara Gordon (yes daughter of Police commisioner Jim Gordon) is never romantically involved with Batman as far as i know. Batman's usual love interest is Catwoman, or the occasional rich heiress or the daughter of a nigh-immortal warlord assassin/ leader of a whole league of assassins
in the very early days of comics (around the 50s i believe) there was a Batwoman who was set to be Batman's love interest but that (if memory still serves) has been retconned out of existence
@@deckire well to adress your points as far as i can tell that "relatioship" was 1 episode of season one of the animated series and a mention in batman beyond

@@forastero54321 definitely agree there. Pretty much just sweet tooth would never get the chance to go all transformers on joker.
well, maybe. joker's taken on similarly armored mechs and cars before... it's hard as heck to guess with him.

"That movie was SO good!"
Meh.
That being said Mewtwo was indeed an awesome character^^
Ah, speaking of Mewtwo, another thing that brings the movie down for me; in the Japanese version, there was about 10 minutes extra at the beginning, when they created Mewtwo, we get to see a baby Mewtwo and some other clones interacting telepathically while explaining the reasons for that doctor at creating him in the first place, ultimately ending with a tragedy that was erased from Mewtwo's mind but a faint memory of that awakened after Ash's attempt at stopping him and Mew that made him change his mind.
But nostalgia....
@@theduckgoesmoo Well duh, I did say I enjoyed it :p I first watched it when I was... 9ish, and I remember it quite fondly. However, it doesn't mean it's without flaws. The later movies... actually no, most of them hadn't exactly improved (dear lord the ending of "Celebi 4ever" was bad), except for the three I had mentioned, which are actually great, and maybe a few more that are good.
