Was the house of wolves cinematic partially shot on Europa? The scene with the Fallen Wolf Baron or Captain or whatever he was walking away in the swirling snow reminds me of the new Europa planet in the game nowadays. My two favorite cinematics so far rare still probably the house of wolves intro cinematic were Queen Mara Sov is overlooking the injured Corsairs, and the Mara Sov Bows to No One cinematic from taken king. Which I still don’t understand why so many still seem confused about it and don’t realize Queen Mara Sov is talking to Eris Morn in the intro cinematic and the end cinematic Eris Morn is talking back to Queen Mara Sov. Regardless though the cinematics in Destiny are just amazing, and I hope they eventually add back the feature we used to have in destiny 1 to be able to replay/review the story cinematics. One of the things that amazes me most is how some the player character and ship appear in the cinematics not as some generic stock intended character usually which from what I’ve read over the years is usually either an exo hunter or a titan for destiny 2 in red and white painted armor, but in most cinematics somehow our actual ship and warlock armor show up as if we were really there in the cut scene and there are actually voices both male and female for the human exo and awoken so 6 voices for the 6 player character options, granted we don’t talk much but even so for a studio to care that much and she’ll out extra voice over money just so each player character feels more a part of the game and it’s world and story is totally amazing and kind of wonderful. The scene on Europa where she fights doesn’t look much like any depictions of her in game other then that one as she’s always been depicted fairly consistently (other then her skin sometimes being blue and sometimes being grayish over the years/expansions) but the Eris in the fight scene looks completely different like a cosplay or something, while all the other characters still look like themselves generally in cinematics. Though Mara Sov seems to subtly change her appearance quite often and lately her face sometimes looks more gaunt/sallow then it should in some of the in game drawings/depictions, I miss the face she had when we first met her where she looked so vibrant youthful angelic almost other worldly and really really mysterious and intriguing. The newer depictions still work though considering she lost her body, somehow got it back, and has done more over the years in these various wars fights and battles then anyone else including the guardian Zavala never shuts up about according to Holliday. My question is, did the writing team just completely retcon the Red War? Do we suddenly no longer need the Traveler for our ghosts to revive us or for our Light subclasses to work? It feels like everything we've learned about the Traveler and how the Light works since 2017 vanilla campaign has been thrown out.
If only the campaign was as good at storytelling as the campaigns were.
So what is the veil?
I loved the calus cutscenes
The first and last are one cutscene. Admit it, Bungo.
I wouldn’t mind just watching a mini doc on just the mocap and animation side of these cinematics.
Say what you will about the narrative, but the cinematic and animation teams CRUSHED it with Lightfall.
