- Xalapa is the capital of the state of Veracruz here in Mexico and it is a fascinating city! If you are looking for things to do, what to do, que hacer in Xalapa we highlight some of those in this Mexico Travel Vlog.
Xalapa really surprised us, in such a good way especially with all of its green spaces and parks! In this video we park hop our way through Xalapa Veracruz while making some stops to show you attractions, talk about history and of course get some food! If you are traveling through Mexico and are stopping in Veracruz we definitely recommended taking time to check out Xalapa. And make sure you don’t miss Xalapa’s Museo de Antropologia, or the Museum of Anthropology here in Xalapa. It is incredible!

Exacto Xalapa llena de Cultura y tradición
Mejor que no lo hagan más, los extranjeros nos están haciendo muchísimo daño! Están Haciendo que más gringos vengan y se queden a vivir y eso no es bueno para nosotros, gracias a eso Oaxaca está siendo destruida igual que nuestros hermanos Oaxaqueños. Y muchas otras ciudades están llenas de ellos donde los precios se han elevado y nosotros mismos los Mexicanos , ya no podemos pagar por el elevado aumento de todo, gracias a los gringos. Así que si no queremos otra llegada de los Españoles pero ahora de otros paises, mejor cuidemos nuestro patrimonio. Y perdón no es nada personal, pero he visto a mi gente llorar porque han perdido su hogar, busquen la información de Oaxaca y verán de lo que estoy hablando.
@@bellitavalens5990 tiene mucha razón yo a eso le llamo la nueva conquista, pues se la pasan hablando bonito y uno de pendejo dandoles like y diciendo mi casa es tu casa, entonces entran por la puerta grande y se situan y como son vistos por demas extranjeros, aquellos se animan a venir y se establecen, desplazando a los nacionales, a eso se le llama gentrificación.

Excelente hayan aceptado la sugerencia que les dí de conocer Xalapa; una ciudad encantadora llena de vegetación, cultura, gastronomía y delicioso café. Xalapa significa: "manantial en la arena" y, fue fundada hace más de 700 años, dos siglos antes que llegaran los españoles. Y como bien comentan está asentada en un bosque "el bosque de niebla", por eso se han aprovechado a realizar muchos parques, por su terreno irregular, Parque de Los Tecajetes, está creado dentro de una cañada, y. El lago y fuentes es un río natural. En lo personal me encanta Xalapa, sus tardes y noches siempre frescas y frías en invierno. Cerca les recomiendo los Pueblos Mágicos de: Coatepec y Xico; así como el pueblo de Naolinco. 💯

I am so happy to see you guys highlighting this area... Back in the day I had a "chat friend" from this city she was always telling me how lovely it was and inviting me to come over... unfortunately every time I was in Veracruz I was near the beach or coastline. I am not sure I have even see anyone else highlight this area ! Great parks and fun food facts... Maybe I will head down there in December... rainy season should be over by then? That Cucumber treat was VERY unusual! I think the Museums look VERY interesting in that area... Mexico has so many different cultural items.. GRACIAS !!
It sure does! And I know, when we were doing research we were having a hard time finding information for travelers about this city but we are so glad we went and go to explore it because it really has so much to offer! Yes I think by then the weather should be great!
Hi there, I'm from xalapa, by December rainy season it's over, but you should bring always an umbrella or a jacket for the rain, our weather changes constantly so be prepared even if it is sunny!
Im from xalapa and there is a saying that says: all the downpours in the world end in xalapa" So even if it's sunny you should go out with your umbrell

This is a very nice Capital City of the State of Veracruz! and it's very well located: just around a 2 hours+30 minutes drive from Puebla City and just around a 4 hour+30 minutes drive from Mexico City! It's a very beautiful and very green city as you have shown us already with many parks around! It's also a very ancient city! it's even one of the oldest cities in America! since it was founded by indian tribes around the year 1313! while even Mexico City was founded in 1325! and Xalapa city also had its Antropology Museum opened first since they opened their Antropology Museum in 1957 while even Mexico City opened their Antropology Museum in 1964! Xalapa also has the oldest Classical symphonic music orchestra in Mexico which was founded back in 1929 and Xalapa with its aproximately 400 000 population also has a lot of commercial activity! it even has Walt Mart and Costco stores! among many other big stores such as Liverpool and it's also the city where the Chedraui supermarket stores chain started! back in 1920!

Si vienes a xalapa, el pueblo de coatepec (a media hora de distancia) es el lugar que estás buscando, varias moliendas ofrecen ese servicio con tour a los cafetales y desayuno incluido (obvio con café recién tostado y molido 🤤) . Saludos!
No de mi boca, sino de jueces internacionales, Coatepec (10 min. Xalapa) es el mejor lugar del mundo para producir café. Cuando gustes, eres bienvenida para comprobarlo y disfrutarlo.

That is wonderful Julia! Yes - those dang bugs! We had no idea we were even but until we looked down and saw all the bites. I didn’t know but I guess they have a numbing agent they inject into you so you don’t feel them! But yes now we know!!
I based my final art project on that first park. I went in like 2018 when I was in high school and my cousin decided to give me a tour. Xalapa is truly beautiful and it makes me so proud to see it being explored.

You're in one of the cities that I really have wanted to visit. I've heard so many good things about it. Now after watching your video, I want to go even more and Gloria saw it and now she's real interested too. This means you're doing your job really well. Gloria especially liked the jungly green spaces, which reminded her of our time in Costa Rica.
I'm going to check out the rainfall now as well as the population on Google.

Les faltó visitar el Cerro de Macuiltepetl, bosque de niebla, jardín botánico, la USBI y la Cueva de la Orquídea, atractivos turísticos de la zona. Como datos, Xalapa se caracteriza por presentar en un solo día las 4 estaciones del año., la Facultad de Música y Artes de la UV es reconocida a nivel internacional como una de las mejores escuelas, además de Arquitectura e Ingeniería. Espero que su estancia haya sido de su agrado y ojalá regresen pronto a la famosa Atenas Veracruzana, La Ciudad de las Flores, la Ciudad de la eterna primavera. Best regards.

Make sure to spend lots of time in and around Xalapa! My wife's family and some of my best friends are from there.
Make sure to check out Mole in Xico and while there, the waterfall at Texolo. If you get to see Coatepec, I'd suggest going early (8am) so you can smell the fresh roasting coffee - the entire area smells of roasting coffee; amazing!
If you're looking for a serious night out of dining, my favorite restaurant is a steakhouse there called Asadero Cien.
I've got a tonne of great memories from my time spent living there. We used to always go downtown to hang out in and around El callejon de diamantes and it was there that I had the best cup of coffee, EVER!
My best friend, Homero, has a book stand in front of the Palacio Municipal. He is without question, the most knowledgeable, well read, kind and loving person we've ever kbown. Thank you for spending time there. I haven't been since 2006 and so this was just what I needed with my morning coffee (oh yeah, we used to have 5 acres outside town with beautiful brick and stone cabin and endless coffee bushes and fruit trees)
Aww wow thank you so much for sharing! Asadero cien near the teatro is so good! We went there twice! Haha and yes we did a small tour to all those spots including a coffee tour at Bola de Oro. Got the mole! Mmm but didn’t get to spend a ton of time in Xico and Coatepec but got a feel and it was beautiful! Hiked to the waterfall too! Amazing place!
Are you still touring around the area or have moved on? Along the coast and north of the Port is some of my favorite beaches and shore fishing spots: El Farayon, La Mancha, playa chachalacas and my favorite, La Quebrada; just inland from there is a huge rising rock and the archaeological site of Quihuahuitzlan. La Quebrada is the beach where, apparently, Hernan Cortez first stepped ashore.
Xalapa definitely in my vacation list..
