It's because Alfred doesn't know the story of SA2 at this time and the lines are improvised. So him telling Sonic and Shadow that the island is going to blow up was just some shit he made up and they were telling him that Eggman actually does say the island is going to blow up in that moment. Which he then sees happen and freaks out over.
