That a myth bro. Music is all about feelings. If the final version doesn't match the rough it's because something is missing. Your job is to make it feel good and then sound Good that what differentiate mid to good and Great inge.
It is true that a great mix makes you feel good. But music has rules, you wont go ahead and sing off key because of how you feel right? the mix is not meant to MATCH the rough, the rough is a guide or a template if you may, but if u listen to it long enough, it grows on you, the mix is meant to improve on it. Demoitis is not a myth, it is as old as audio recording itself. A quick google search will show it to you.
