This was one fighting game you could beat. Killer characters, killer moves and a killer soundtrack. I even had the music cd from the game.😊. I always loved the hitting noises, almost like you were feeling the hits yourself, and the excitement when you mastered the ultras and your opponent got their ass kicked. It was a bloody rush this game....cause it certainly gave you one.

I grew up on Sega and moved to PS so I only got to play this at a friend's at times but I'm inspired to emulate it cuz I never figured out how to do these combos back then. Just started playing the new one on my PC though so I'm wondering if the combos kinda work the same

I love that people are still hungry to master this classic. I'm getting back into it yet again after finding a perfect copy to play on my phone (S4). Now I can actually hook my phone up to a TV via HDMI & use a ps3 controller to play it anywhere! I would love to learn some of those ultimate combos off by heart. I will probably re watch this multiple times so thanks :)
wow im flabbergasted by how you are able to do such a thing with a phone. hooking it up to a hdmi?! there must be another median to connect it to i would assume. and then do you have a smart tv that can detect your bluetooth dual shock?! i would just get an emulator for my pc and use my dual shock 4 with a cord lol
DJ Mizzy The cheapest way is a simple micro usb to HDMI cable but that way you are draining your battery & also you can only connect other peripherals via bluetooth. If you can afford it & you have a Galaxy phone or tablet there is a much better option, the Samsung Smart Dock. It has a HDMI out and 3 USB ports. With it I can charge my phone, connect a wired mouse & keyboard plus a wired Xbox 360 or PS3 controller to it & output to a TV all at the same time. No root required either, just plug & play :) Your comment about using a PC to run the emulators is a fair one, but that's what I was saying about using a PS3 controller to play anywhere. There is something called a GameKlip which connects my phone directly to a PS3 controller allowing perfect emulation of old games on the go. It means for example on a bus or train journey I can play Killer Instinct on the SNES or N64 & then when I reach my stop I can pause mid-fight & continue on my TV when I get home. Epic!

This game is one of the most least celebrated tournament games. Everyone is either Street Fighter or Mortal Combat. And while I love both, Killer Instinct was a big part of my childhood as well and a very enjoyable game!

If you'd have been on the episode of GamesMaster, back in the day, there was a kid who was able to do a 46 hit ultra with Orchid, and you'd have beaten him and won the golden joystick. I used to think that kid was amazing. You just blew me away. Seriously, kudos, man.
I play with every single character and have memorized everyone's Killer Combos and Ultra but I couldn't remember their Ultimates or danger moves for the life of me! This is amazing stuff and I didn't know about the Killer Combos of Jago, Fulgore, T.J. Combo, Chief Thunder and Sabrewulf! And you can squeeze one more hit with Cinder's highest Killer Combo! It's difficult to put off but once you do it feels amazing! KI forever!
Man those days are missed big time . When combat game was really fun n competitive . They messed up that game after Nintendo 64 . That's a classic right there .

Vários combos neste vídeo infelizmente estão incompletos, como por exemplo o combo máximo da orchid, após executar 4x < > A, L, > < B, L, é possível executar > \/ < Y antes da finalização aumentando em 1 hit o combo, isso também se faz válido no movimento no mercy e caso seja feito junto com o ultra, a orchid acaba executando um ultra fantasma. O cinder tem um combo que 2x maior do que o exibido no vídeo. O combo máximo do jago também falta alguns movimentos. O thief thunder tem um combo diferente do exibido no vídeo onde os hits contados ultrapassam o exibido no vídeo em 3 hits, o mesmo pode ser dito sobre o combo do TJ combo. Tudo isso sem contar movimentos fantasma ou combos que utilizem glichts ou bugs. Mas duvido que alguém leria isso.
For those who don't know how to perform the multiple hits with the special moves or the multiple projectiles, it works like this. You must be able to do a combo breaker and earn the flashing starburst at the top of the energy bar to be able to do combos with multiple hits. In the arcade version these are called shadow moves or shadow combos but since it got ported to the Super NES, the shadow effects were dropped but the moves are still in the game. The benefit of earning the flashing starburst, your projectiles will shoot multiple times in one input, special move that use to deal minimal damages now does twice as much and moves that could connect with a single or double hits now could connect to more hits.
Thank you for sharing. I think Orchid has the highest Ultra combo count from what I remember when watching my brother play. Though I love this Killer Instinct, I was not good at the game to this day.

Some attacks are still missing. For example @1:45. After you do with Jago the Long Kick and start the Combo with B (medium Kick where he does a low, a high and a low kick), you can press R (Weak Kick) after that and THAN use the Sword. With that you will have 1 hit more which would be a 18th Killer Combo, not 17th.
I noticed you always have the spark in your life bar. I knew how to get it with sabrewulf but not with the others and never knew what exactly means or works for

You can lead in with a late kick near the ground to add another attack to nearly all of these combos. I miss playing this when it was new, and playing it on X-Band against like 6 other people in my state. I got in massive trouble for playing on WAN against others since it was like $1.99 a minute lol. I remember getting super excited when I heard the ringing/dial-tone and dial-up sound signaling a player was found.

I gotta say as a kid I played with orchid and max combo was 21. seeing orchid ultimate about her flashing was a rumor I heard that it was only done in the arcade version. Never seen it until today.
You can squeeze one more hit into orchids largest combo by doing the ichi move before the spinning sword finisher. You can also do it before going into the ultra combo, only one hit more but still
I think orchid has the biggest combos in the game, her loops can be done multiple times. Not to mention her options for combos is pretty cool. TJ COMBO has pretty long combos too but never mastered them.

I purchased the Deluxe version of KI for XboxOne, which includes the 2 retro versions from arcade. It's amazing to play them again.

I gotta say as a kid I played with orchid and max combo was 21. seeing orchid ultimate about her flashing was a rumor I heard that it was only done in the arcade version. Never seen it until today.

Killer instinct some times don't recognize some ultimates, because That was an Programming error, or he maked a ñas ultimate skipping somo attack

The super nintendo controller was good for doing combos with. My fav is the dizzy combos that the game magazines never talk about
You can squeeze one more hit into orchids largest combo by doing the ichi move before the spinning sword finisher. You can also do it before going into the ultra combo, only one hit more but still

I think orchid has the biggest combos in the game, her loops can be done multiple times. Not to mention her options for combos is pretty cool. TJ COMBO has pretty long combos too but never mastered them.
Orchid was my all time fav, always pulled her on little championships in my home, proud orchid ultra combo member
