Hot Tent Snow Camping In Old Growth Forest | Wood Stove Cheese Steak

- On this adventure I went hot tent snow camping in old growth forest. I've always wanted to hot tent camp here in the snow. Many of the trees are hundreds of years old and hundreds of feet tall. The forest gives off an eerie vibe but it is absolutely stunning to see. It snowed almost non stop the entire trip and temperatures stayed around 23 F (-5 C). I cooked up some delicious cheese steak sandwiches on the wood stove for dinner and had scrambled eggs for breakfast. Before I packed up I got to play around with the Dwarf Telescope made by TinyScope. It worked surprisingly well and I can't wait to use it somewhere with an actual view. I hope you enjoy the beautiful forest in this video!

I can’t imagine anything more satisfying than hiking into a site, working hard to set up then relaxing, dry and warm, with a hot meal, while watching the snow fall.
Its a great feeling when you can sit there and enjoy a hot meal after all the work. Its such a feeling of accomplishment and its very relaxing.

The chopping wood sequence had so many angles I was really thinking about this when watching that

Reminds me of the time I did similar up in Spokane Wa during Air Force survival training. Spent 3 days during the Thanksgiving weekend. That was about 40yrs ago. I actually miss it. Great video. Nice & quiet, no people noise or annoying music.

I live in UK there's not much to fear when camping. Possibly trees falling, drunk people or forgetting the marshmallows lol

A cheese steak is so good that it's easily worth doing everything you see here. The cold, the snow, and the cheese steak as the reward. I used to snow camp when I was a kid out in the Pine Barrens - it was worth it! Thanks for a great watch!

Wow. Such a minimalist set up with maximum comfort.
I have this weird habit of watching these types of videos when I need a reset or if I’m trying to fall asleep. Something so comfortable with the idea of someone making a nice cozy shelter.
You make it look so easy to unpack, find wood, cook, and then pack all of your equipment. I would have died in that environment. Like I just had to turn my thermostat up one degree.....much respect!!!!!

While the tent, stove and dwarf telescope may steal the show, that Theram-a-Rest cot is something under appreciated. The fact that it gets you off the ground in conditions like this, plus doubles as a table, is far more valuable than people realize.

Со школы хожу в такие походы, почти прошли всю Свердловская область. Жили в шатре на 20 человек, сшитым в домашних условиях. Но самое удивительное это труба от печки.
Ни чего удивительного. в 70 такие трубы были, если знал где фольгу найти.
А тебя не удивили то, что человек такое ощущение в походы то и не ходил? Вот прям чувство, что он от дома отходит на 500 метров. Без топора, но с бесполезной пилой. Поставил палатку, снег не убрал и уже мокрая жопа.. Да там везде странные решения и кромешный пиздец. 70% веса в рюкзаке это порожняк, это самое страшное.
Мужик красавчик, знает толк в отдыхе. Я бы ещё с рыбалкой совместил и жарил бы рыбу которую поймал. Респект.

неправильное место для палатки и постановка. пила что детская? а вдруг не будет бревна меньше диаметра чем она? . без дров останешся,надо сквозную брать. опытный человек сначала бы печку включил , потмо бы кровать ставил и другое. ээх. набирайся опыта а то на 1,5 млн дураком себя выставил

Loved the video! I never knew you could have such a heat source in a tent type shelter! You're really amazing. My biggest fear while camping, well I live and grew up at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Canada so would probably be, freezing at night and then not get any rest. Dangerous wild animals/are almost non existent in winter up here anyways and really don't scare me.
