​@@jakeb934 my first proper bass was a 4001s ...because chris squier and geddy ...then i got into a commercial group and we needed a 5 string active
i still regret the trade (washburn ABT 5 active on pretty much all of my recordings ... actually a good bass but the string spacing was too narrow ... yes ... it was a 4 string neck ... cheap ass ... £$%$%)
but ive played the new 4000 ones ... nope ...
anyway ... point is ...geddy was there and innovating with no foundation to build on and so was chris squire
all the modern bass players suffer from ready made foundations

can someone explain how he does the high E at 1:28? From what I gather, it's either bending (extremely fast/for only a 16th note, probanly from Eb and having to go to D right after), DADA tuning which seems impractical for the rest of the solo or he just has 24 frets. Though it's probably the latter, I'm assuming he's playing a Stingray and I haven't found any similar ones with 24 frets.
