What’s frustrating about this trophy is not all the targets pop up in the same place each time, often the targets move around. Makes it tough to become consistent.
Sometimes the target arrangements make it Impossible to get the required as you have to get multiple collateral shots to get the accuracy bonus. I’m not sure why they chose to do this
If you feel you aren't getting lucky enough with the target RNG to line up collaterals, I found that using the AA-12 and m9 works great. Use the m9 for the first 3 stations, then switch to the aa12 and hipfire inside the building to save time and then switch back to your m9 when you jump down. If you don't miss any shots you will have enough m9 ammo for both sections without reloading. My lowest time with this strat was 18.60sec.

I found a way to make it 19.60 and under. At the beginning where the gun range is, along one of those tables is a USP, grab it and then go down to the pit and grab an M9 too. If you don’t get 19.60, just restart checkpoint and you have the USP with M9 and the targets will always be in the same spot.

@@LoCoAde87 especially with MW2R, you need to get the immortal trophy from playing through the campaign without going back to a checkpoint so you're already guaranteed a second full playthrough
For anyone watching and/or struggling, using the pistol with the knife is much easier than the deagle. Use the m9 for the beginning part and switch to the knife pistol before the building. You’ll have enough rounds to finish and it has no recoil and knifes much faster at the melee part. I didn’t even get every double kill but the time you save shooting/re-aiming/knifing gives you a lot of leeway. Also another tip. NEVER STOP. Even when you’re aiming or lining a shot always be inching forward. That couple extra feet can be the difference between 19.50 and 20.00.
I got 18.80 easy. First off you can get the usp before you even do the first round. After your training head over two stalls to the right and it is on the table. Now after you run through hit reload checkpoint and you will get the same targets and keep both handguns every time. Also on the last section when you drop down hit the double on the left, immediately jump over the wall and land making the next four pop up. DO NOT SHOOT DOUBLES, pause a second and you can nail all four in one single shot. I finished with 18.80 and 171% accuracy. Hope this helped
I found that not using Snap Aiming, and moving while ADSing in the first part and sprint jumping at the finish line to be helpful. Its also very very helpful to play on a higher sensitivity, started at 3 and every time i felt i got better i increased it, ended up on 6. Got the Trophy with a time of 19.60 lol
Having just got this one (The Student Surpasses the Master), I want to add the following tips, as I haven't seen them anywhere else (except for restarting checkpoint for target consistency). 1) To remove any randomness, you will want to reset checkpoint every time you fail. That will ensure that the targets are in the same location every time. That said... 2) The locations of the targets have a number of different location sets which are determined by RNG, and they reset with every play-through/restart mission. It is very likely when you do a run, the targets will be different than what is depicted in Brian's video here. To get around that requires a little bit of tedious prep work, which leads me to tip 3. 3) As tedious as it will be, doing the following will save you time in the long run. Restart the mission, and go through Admiral Anderson's ADS tutorial and then just WALK the Pit course. See what the target layout is. If you are getting a set-up where an active target is behind a civie target, restart mission. If the targets on the building roof are not lining up, restart mission. If that one civie target is blocking you on the last stretch, well.... Keep restarting the mission and doing the ADS tutorial until you get a layout that you think you can grind to -19.7 seconds. Then when you restart the checkpoint it will be the same every time. Yes it will be tedious, but it will save time and frustration on the back end. 4) Finally, doing the course with the M9 and Desert Eagle is in fact doable. I did it that way myself. It might be easier to use the M9 and USP 45 combo. Resetting the check point will normally lock you into using the M9 & .50 AE. However, I figured out (after getting the trophy 😡) that you can grab a USP 45 that is to the left of the ADS target range before you go to the pit. It is right next to the sniper rifle you will use to get the 'Clown in Training' trophy. By grabbing the USP here, and then getting the M9 before the Pit, you can now reset checkpoint and not be locked in to the magnum (weapon variety only opens up after you run the Pit once, and that of course will cause randomness in target location). This combo gives you a few more bullets and a quicker melee when using the USP. 0.5 seconds might be all you need. 5) And the final finally tip: for controller sensitivity, I had Medium6 on both horizontal and vertical settings. The aim assist was enabled as well, but that seemed to do fuck all. If you suck at FPS games like me, this one is frustrating. I'm old, like the NES was my first console old. I seriously started to think I did not have the reaction time to do this one. Then again, the multiple servings of beer on the Sunday in question probably didn't help either. A subsequent attempt a few days later with no alcohol proved successful within 30 minutes - 19.10. Take that as you will. But the bottom line is that it is a skill issue. There are no cheats. You will have to do this on you own. But I figured out the tips above after about 12 hours of effort. Hopefully this helps you avoid taking that much time.
Can confirm this method works 👍 always restart checkpoint after each try otherwise targets change position. I only used m9 making every shot count and didnt need a reload. Another excellent video guys!!
My advice after beating this and getting 19.55 seconds would be this: Use the M9 pistol with the USP 45 with tac knife. Both have next to no recoil, plenty of ammo and the tac knife is great for speedy knifing. Also just keep going on a constant loop through the coarse without stopping. It might seem like a headache at first but I found that by doing it over and over I got faster with my shots and more accurate as the coarse became embedded in my memory ! Keep trying ! YOU CAN DO IT ! ✊🏻
-たいの use a m9 and USP with tac knife it’s easier use the m9 first then when you go upstairs switch to usp and knife the target and you can go on and save time without reloading I got 19.15 seconds after doing this strategy
Anthony Valenzuela that’s great for you guys. I’m just trying to help everyone else get the trophy. Having 2 pistols that work the same way felt better than when I tried pistol and smg.
Sure it took me around 45 runs but hey, 15.45 is a pretty amazing score I got amazingly lucky that a bunch of his double kill shots were able to be triples for me. Extremely lucky shots
Thanks took me about 20 minutes after watching this video had a few runs where shots just didn’t seem to collateral or aim assist would be off. I knew a run was a bust if I wasn’t at the top of the stairs before 14 seconds
Thanks, just got this on xbox after 45 minutes or so, not easy at all and involves a bit of luck as some of the targets can spawn in a random location along their tracks. Theres a civilian that kept popping up in my way after dropping down from the upper area, it just all fell into place on one of the runs thank fck for that, cheers mate.
I kept replaying the mission for like an hour just because I thought it was so fun, I didn’t even know there was a trophy. I ended up with a 15.55s and called it quits.
I'd like to know how you went through it in only 26 seconds. I've been doing this for like 2 hours and fastest I can make it through is like 29.55 and that's with one triple kill.
Finally got the trophy after alot of tries and hours. Ive realised that restarting the mission can change the placement of enemies and civilians. With that, it actually got me a better setup of enemy targets to get multi kills. So I would keep practising on the course and memorise where the enemies and civilians currently are placed. If you feel like it ain't a good setup, restart the mission and see if the changed up enemy and civilian spawns are better for you. Best of luck trophy hunters!
There are two things to keep in mind that most guides don't mention: first, quick-snap (when you 'home in' on a target upon aiming down sight) is your friend here; second, DON'T shoot as soon as you LDS, as it'll be inaccurate. Make sure to wait a fraction of a second upon looking down sight before shooting for your bullet to go where you want. Don't worry, it'll be pretty intuitive.
Doesn't help either that the pistol hit registration seems to be sketchy at times. I aimed at targets dead center mass and it didn't register it as being hit
Just to add my two cents: always restart to the last checpoint if you can get it to where you'll have two double shots up on the balcony. That way, you can always have the targets in the same place.
I think i'll leave The Student Surpasses the Master until after I beat the game on veteran, reflexs will be faster. Plus getting super annoyed in the first level will take away enjoyment going forward.
Camping on veteran can lead to quick death as enemies are prone to flanking. Sometimes its required ie Wolverines level. Generally I find moving from cover to cover picking enemies off along the way is much more effective, especially with how generous the game is with checkpoints but if some people prefer to camp one spot until all enemies are dead then fair enough i'm not going to tell them their playing wrong...
Man, your guide did the job it must have been a billion times before I got it and my fingers felt like they got smashed with a hammer after it was said and done but I did manage to barely squeeze right through with a 19.50. After I saw in the comments that you can revert to last checkpoint I messed up and restarted the chapter but it put me in the right target variation that after a few tries I managed to line up perfectly I even a triple I think that put me right over the edge.
This is definitely gonna be the one that gets me so angry lol It’s the same one that enraged me in the first remaster. I’m happy to be going after this new Platinum though.
No matter how accurate you are you have to get lucky where they all align for you to get doubles and triples with a single shot. This trophy is such shit when the rotation changes every time so you need so much luck to get it. And when the knife swipe misses.... FUCKKKK
I remember spending hours on this when the remaster came out, not being able to get my time below 22 seconds. Tried again, using the tip from these comments that you should restart checkpoint each time you mess up even a tiny bit, because then the boards come up in the same place each time, and finishing off an imperfect run will just waste time. 24 minutes later, 19.60s. Never has a platinum tasted so good
Finally got it. One simple tip for this trophy is that you shouldn’t be frustrated at all. The more u panic the worse ull do. At least thats what i learnt
I really have no idea how people manage to get under 26 seconds to complete the course; my course time when I finally got it was 27.60. Perhaps the potential triple kill before going inside the building really helps with that (I could never do it personally). Regardless, I had the toughest time doing this and my completion time was rarely below 29 seconds, but I did see improvement once I changed one thing: I started using melee on the target in the doorway, right before going into the building. It's not necessary to switch to the Tact USP for it, since you can still kind of move into the building after you swing. What is really nice about it though, is that it ups your accuracy because your reducing your total shot count by 1, and thus those double kills will count for even more decrease in total time. My accuracy for my completed run was -8.60 seconds, putting my record at 19 flat. So that would be my suggestion to anyone else who was struggling like I was: See if you can mix another melee kill in there somewhere. Given how many targets are either out of reach or part of double kills anyway, the only other target that might work is the initial one for the potential triple kill (the one at 0:49 in the video). Although, I would wager the triple kill is still superior for completion time, if you can actually manage to do it.
Finally got it after like almost an hour lol, my suggestion is take breaks between a few runs and be patient and don't tense up, once you start getting closer it's not as hard as you think.
Not sure if this helps to those still struggling, but try adjusting your horizontal and vertical sensitivity settings in the controls. Your aiming movement will be faster than usual, allowing you to squeeze in those precious seconds. I went upwards to 8 (high), which I don't usually do for first-person shooters, but it helped me nail a time of 19.3 seconds for the trophy after roughly 4 dozen attempts.
This. Even though I did the 'load last checkpoint' trick I was struggling for two hours to get it below 20.25. After reading your comment I bumped up the sensitivity from 6 to 12 and got 18.40 after two tries. It made a massive difference to movement speed. Thank you.
Took me around 12 goes to finally get this. I noticed a few times when I'd gone for collaterals that the target behind wouldn't fall yet it'd have a bullet hole in it :/ Not too sure if this is a bug or sometimes it just happens
After reviewing various other gameplays on how to get the fastest time and doubting that I'll ever get this trophy. I managed to surprise myself by getting 19.45 seconds in roughly 10-11 minutes of reruns (about 15 or so runs) Thank god ;n;

I actually found this one so much harder than "become the master" from Titanfall 2 for some reason. I just could not get the time
down lol
Jack Mace become the master on Titanfall 2 its more harder then modern warfare 2 for me
@@Platinum214 Don't know why I had so much trouble with this aha. Don't get me wrong become the master took a while for me to do too but no where near as long as this for some reason
Jack Mace yeah I think they put this trophy on mw2 remastered because of the gauntlet on Titanfall 2 like what the heck I hate those gauntlet
@@Platinum214 Yeah it can be quite annoying
Two pistols worked immediately, thanks so much for doing this and getting it up quickly - I wasn’t gonna continue in the game until I got this done haha.
Alex Ramstetter mate I’m in that same boat 😂 I am dedicated to getting this trophy before I move on with the game 🤦🏻♂️
Alex Ramstetter mate finally beat it about 2 hours ago ! So happy ! Hope you have had better luck !
coasterboy456 I personally used the M9 and the USP with tactical knife to get my score of 19.55. Both have next to no recoil and switching to the USP to quickly knife works like a charm 👌🏻
coasterboy456 awesome mate ! What time did you manage to get ? Glad I could help ! 👌🏻👍🏻
What makes getting this trophy hard is the civilians that pop up behind an enemy on the last part, because sometimes I end up hitting a civilian when I shoot an enemy and I have to redo this course all over again
The student becomes the master(MW2)-Took me 30 minutes
Becomes the master(Titanfall 2)-Took me 45 minutes
Brutality 101(Batman:AK)Took me 1hr 15 min
I will treasure these trophies in my heart
I’ve technically done brutality 101 twice since I did it for a friend and let me tell you it doesn’t get easier 😂
this trophy took me 2 hours already yall are really good 😅😅
TF2's Become the Master took me like 6-7hrs even while watching videos
This one took like 20-30mins following this guide.
This trophy is like a mini version of the TF2 trophy with a ton less stress/rage. People dropping the TF2 plat becus of it or taking weeks/mths/years to finally do
Is it me, or is sprint broken?
Chooses to be push, then chooses to be toggle.
It is making me way too livid.
I was going to lose my shit. I got 19.75 and I about flipped out, then a couple trys later I finally got 19.65
When its said recommended veteran... clicks recruit
Thing is though, if you're going for the platinum, you need to finish it on veteran anyway
@@aaronharris102 True, but I imagine like a lot of people he prefers going for all the easy trophies first. As to give him a chance to note things for the eventual veteran run.
@@LoCoAde87 I prefer to do the opposite. Make the first playthrough last longer then get the more tedious trophies out of the way, it's all preference though
It's been a minute since I've played MW2 so I forgot that the pistol is the best weapon lol.
3 hours in and still no luck. Edit: completed after 7 hours of trying god I’m awful
At least you did it. That's all that matters.
Eobard Thawne thanks pal
@@PlayingwithSteve No problem. It took me about the same amount of time if not longer.
I always struggle at the "hardest" part ever....shooting the first target lol
i spent a few hours last night trying this best was 20 using another video. watched yours and i got it in about 6 trys
Thanks wil try that strategie.
the race mission in Mafia and this trophy was the definiton of pain for me
That race mission was so annoying, rest of the game is fucking great tho
That moment when you tie you time you have to beat.
SGT. Gibby haha wow that is exactly how I did my run 😂👌🏻
No, me and my friend have been challenging each other to do it faster, and I made a 15.35 using the mp5k. So try using the mp5k to get faster times
Anthony Valenzuela that’s great for you guys. I’m just trying to help everyone else get the trophy. Having 2 pistols that work the same way felt better than when I tried pistol and smg.
Anthony Valenzuela I did it for the achievement I’m not doing the pit anymore after that
2 pistols works so well. Took about 10 attempts but got a 17.70. Thanks for the helpful video :)
I got 19.65 and left it at that. As long as I got the trophy, I’m cool.
Done this tactic for about 10 mins and got 18.10 seconds your some man cheers x
Thanks for the guide good sir. After 7 hrs and now crippled hands, I got 19:55. Why do we do this to ourselves!
It took me 2 hours to unlock this but I’m proud of it. I did it with m9 and desert eagle. Thank you this helped me very much.
Key is to not reset to last checkpoint so you get the extra weapons first time you fail
Oft finally i got 0:19.65 thanks for the video it helped me get through it 👍
Sure it took me around 45 runs but hey, 15.45 is a pretty amazing score
I got amazingly lucky that a bunch of his double kill shots were able to be triples for me. Extremely lucky shots
The bullets are crazy!! Sometimes i shoot a target and it doesnt count and some other times i miss the target but it counts
Ah man. I just played this part and got the pit boss trophy but not the master 😆
Thanks took me about 20 minutes after watching this video had a few runs where shots just didn’t seem to collateral or aim assist would be off. I knew a run was a bust if I wasn’t at the top of the stairs before 14 seconds
_"Hit the targets!"_ 🤣
"Flash bang through the door!"
Got this within 15 tries, I kept getting so close like 19.9 seconds to start with, thanks for the guide!
0:55 Dude said “Magnum”
Desert Eagles can be chambered in 44 Magnum.
Jackson Hyde Yh true
Mate, calm down.
I know, so painful
"My Magnum Dong"
Hey guys, if you grab the usp with the tactical knife by where you first spawn in the mission, running the course is a little easier.
Could't get more than 22 seconds for about half an hour, watched this once, I got 19.40
Conclassion ha I got 19.20
I got 18.49 lmao
Thanks, just got this on xbox after 45 minutes or so, not easy at all and involves a bit of luck as some of the targets can spawn in a random location along their tracks. Theres a civilian that kept popping up in my way after dropping down from the upper area, it just all fell into place on one of the runs thank fck for that, cheers mate.
This is harder than beating the game on veteran difficulty.
Nah it definitely ain't harder than that snow mission
BRO THIS IS WHATS KEEPING ME FROM THE PLATINUM
Still…
I kept replaying the mission for like an hour just because I thought it was so fun, I didn’t even know there was a trophy. I ended up with a 15.55s and called it quits.
Jus got it in 15 mins with this guide. Really good! Line up the double kill at the door and you will for sure get it
I'd like to know how you went through it in only 26 seconds. I've been doing this for like 2 hours and fastest I can make it through is like 29.55 and that's with one triple kill.
Yes that's what I don't know,how he gets initial time within 26.
All I can do is 27.80
I completed it and now I have a huge confidence boost when it comes to Cod lmao.
You saying that it ain't as bad as Becomes the Master trophy from Titanfall 2 is somewhat a relief. Happy to go after this Platinum 😊
That was hell... lol this looks significantly easier and an easy platinum overall I'm ready to go for it
As someone with becomes the master trophy. This one is so much harder for me to get idk why
3 years later and I still don't have that trophy. It's all I need for the plat. Ugh.
Don't worry, it'll be pretty intuitive.
that's why sometimes I shoot but the game doesn't register??
@@peled1 Yeah probably because you're shooting before the 'quick snap' finished
@@NicktheLP thx
Doesn't help either that the pistol hit registration seems to be sketchy at times. I aimed at targets dead center mass and it didn't register it as being hit
2 years later and this is still super helpful thanks man.
Any tips
it’s been 4 months and i still suck at this. my best is 29 seconds :(
4 month lmao are u playing with ur hands ? bruh
Ademeh nah man playing with my nose
Just to add my two cents: always restart to the last checpoint if you can get it to where you'll have two double shots up on the balcony. That way, you can always have the targets in the same place.
I think i'll leave The Student Surpasses the Master until after I beat the game on veteran, reflexs will be faster. Plus getting super annoyed in the first level will take away enjoyment going forward.
How will your reflexes be better.you won't be running and gunning on veteran cause you'd be dead straight away, you'd more be camping lol
I’m still stuck on this trophy I can’t do it at all
Same. Highest I got was 19.50
Took me several days to get the trophy, it was pretty hard, but I managed to get a time of 19.29 and I got that trophy and the platinum.
This is definitely gonna be the one that gets me so angry lol
It’s the same one that enraged me in the first remaster. I’m happy to be going after this new Platinum though.
Nah, it's really easy.
• yeah I practiced for like 3 hours lol
Thx for the tips my guy, i just did it with your help. 18.6 seconds, im pretty proud of myself
No matter how accurate you are you have to get lucky where they all align for you to get doubles and triples with a single shot. This trophy is such shit when the rotation changes every time so you need so much luck to get it.
And when the knife swipe misses.... FUCKKKK
Reload checkpoint they stay the same
J V atleast someone said it these people are over complicating things
that was hard as shit, sat there doing it for 15 minutes to get 18:60
Compared to FF7 Rebirth "Bonds of Friendship" this trophy is cake (and triple ice cream).
Real honest, no cap...
Took me 5 tries.
Thanks for your info!
Thanks bro
Finally got it after like almost an hour lol, my suggestion is take breaks between a few runs and be patient and don't tense up, once you start getting closer it's not as hard as you think.
How much closer
I got to 19.9/85/80/79 Like Wtf than 19.20
Thanks dude, this route is perfect, although the layout of those moving targets varies a little each time.
Thank you.
I also topped my sensitivity to 5 then 6 but still took me like 50 tries just to get 19.2
@@icandodgebullets7869 I was also stuck around 20 Fuck 3 times at 19.80/19.79/19.85 wtf
19.05 after 5 hours of almost non-stop relentless grinding. It's a toughie for sure!!
Took me around 12 goes to finally get this. I noticed a few times when I'd gone for collaterals that the target behind wouldn't fall yet it'd have a bullet hole in it :/ Not too sure if this is a bug or sometimes it just happens
After reviewing various other gameplays on how to get the fastest time and doubting that I'll ever get this trophy.
I managed to surprise myself by getting 19.45 seconds in roughly 10-11 minutes of reruns (about 15 or so runs) Thank god ;n;
thank you bro, that tip for the triple shot is what did it for me. Managed to get 171% accuracy thanks to that. GG
I did it!! Thanks to your videos, u unlock alot of my trophies on this game and some other videos i watched. Love your channel, sir.
Dude makes this look easy damn I've been trying for 3hrs now
Thanks Brian, watched your video and did this first time 👍
Yo thanks this helped a lot I got it within 5 tries of watching this
I got an 18.55 following your video much appreciated. I just kept hitting last checkpoint so the targets were always in the same spot
Took me 40 minutes and oh man I’m so relieved
That first double shot has me livid. This shit is ridiculous. 😂
You make it sound so easy! Third day trying for me!!!,
