- Dont Back Down & You'll be the One & Mammoth & Mr Ed, Mammoth WVH (Wolfgang Van Halen), Hersheypark Stadium, Hershey, PA; July 31st, 2021; 1st night of the tour as an opener, Opening for Guns N Roses; 1st 4 songs of the set
He didn't compromise. He has he own sound, guitar tone, and wrote one hell of an album. Respect.
This is a guy that does not have to do anything if he chooses not to. But I have a lot of respect for him, He put himself out there and has Great talent! I am digging his first solo album and cant wait for more from this young man. It is hard to follow a Prodigy! But he has shown us he is his own man! Keep Rockin Wolf and Mammoth!
@@PrometheusRuleTheWorld --- he's always gonna be compared to EVH --- I feel bad for him
He has his own style, I can't wait to see him and Guns and Roses, in concert on the 22nd
@@bobnellis375 on less he step up what did from dad, rewrite eruption with own twists to it, at the end I will give him big respect for staying in the music industry
His daddy taught him well. Couldn't have had a better influence. Didn't grow up like a Lilly livered pansie. Hard and heavy. Developed his own sound. Thank God we have music like this, and several other younger rock bands, to carry on the torch.
@@bobnellis375 I disagree. Van Halen had its day. It’s over for that style of music, unfortunately. For now he’s up against auto tune, pop garbage and songs that drone on and on with few lyrics and 15 engineers on them.
I remain hopeful that he continues carving his own thing and that it catches on and that rock and roll make a resurgence. Van Halen fans (like me since the early 80s; I’m 50) shouldn’t be looking for VH IV through Ed’s son.
This kid has talent oozing out of his pores. Very humble, down to earth. The kid was raised right. Nice job Eddie and Valery!
Its Valerie B
And he's not a kid
@@kevinperry2589 right!? He’s 30 !!
Had no idea he was opening for Guns and Roses in Hershey. This kid has true talent and can sing! The band as a whole are tight as hell!! Thoroughly enjoyed their set. I wish Mammoth a long career!
Would be no career if it wasn't for his namesake
@Joe Beijing i suppose you like the Backstreet boys, you sure do have strange music taste
This literally brought tears to my eyes! It's great to see this multi-talented son of a legend get to do his own thing with his own sound!
I’m so very proud of Wolf. He’s made single handedly the best rock record I’ve heard in years and out there crushing it live. Love you Wolf 👏🏻
I was at this show - the video doesn't do him justice. Outstanding performance, incredible talent Wolf has. I'm hooked!!! He's shooting for beyond the stars, I am awaiting the day to get tickets to see Mammoth WVH live again
I am sure that the show was a blast to see..
I love at the end of dont back down that smile he had. Him and his band sound freaking amazing.
He and his band.
thank you i meant to say that
Oh yeah! Wolfie brought the goods, and gave good old rock n roll a punch in the face "wake up call"! Great band, great sound, great song writing, awesome vocals. Congratulations Wolfgang and Mammoth WVH. Really exciting to see these guys rise up and kick the door down. Way to keep it real Wolfie. Not riding you dads coat tails, but doing your own thing. I have to admit, the fingering tapping did put a smile on my face, a call back to the great one, Eddie. Very tastefully done however, not a copy cat at all. Props to you Wolfgang! Lovin' it. Mammoth WVH and the youngsters Greta Van Fleet, are keeping rock n roll alive. Well done!
I listen to the album at least once per week since I bought it.
The amount of talent Wolf has is absolutely insane, and his passion shines through.
Rock is not dead!!!!!
This young man has it in spades!!!! EVH DNA is alive and well in Wolfgang. I hope this the beginning of a long and creative musical career!!!!!! Thank you for blowing our minds with your musical talents
a legend is born with WVH...
His album is very good, very solid. If you don't have it BUY IT. Support rock music. His Dad is smiling down...
Had to get it the day it came out, great album
I was here at Hershey and saw this live and I’m so glad I did because now I know this incredible band exists
The bass player is playing a beautiful EVH Bass that i never seen before ,so sweet . Maybe we will see those at NAMM next year
Best opening act of the summer concert series! Mammoth WVH was awesome!
Finally, some decent music again. Good job guys!
Their is alot of decent music, you just have look for it an not on mainstream radio.
Amen bro
Gotta say Wolfie is something special he has a great career ahead of him.....I'm blown away to see him do his thing
He’s a great vocalist too.
He has unique tone to his voice. Can't even relate it to anyone which is a good thing! So talented, looking forward to see him in concert someday!!🎸
@@Kattykat63 like Chris Daughtry.
@@Kattykat63 I can hear a little from the vocalist of Shinedown in Wolfgang's vocal style.
@@Kattykat63 I hear a lot of Matt Scannell from Vertical Horizon in his voice
@@davidmerlin3344 Not really, WVH sounds like a tenor
Great to see Wolfie play the 335. Great sound and band. Look forward to seeing them live someday
You can see Wolfs passion and what an incredible new talent hitting the Rock n Roll scene! So excited for his future and learned so much of what to do and not to do from his family and of course EVH.So stoked that he is going a slightly different road with his music than VH was and must have been so hard. Just raw talent!
I can’t stop listening the the new Mammoth WVH album. My first time listening was straight through from beginning to end. It’s a phenomenal album.
This was a great show! And Mammoth did fabulous last night!!! Making his dad proud
The Van Halen legacy lives on. Great work Wolfie!
Hes good he's really good. He learned from his Dad and he is is doing what he loves, music. I bet though he has his Mothers sweetness. He's a hardass rocker with good vibes. Love ya Wolfey and keep going with your music
ROCK N ROLL IS ON HIS DNA!
Great job, Wolfie
Shining with his own light! I am an old Guitar Solo 🎸 rock fan and never listened to any grudge or alternative but, I dig how aggressive and distinctive his sound came out. Undeniable talent, I hope he keeps that voice well taken care.
Sounds amazing!
Fantastic band! 🔥🔥🤘🤘
The vocals are INSANE. 👍👍👍
I forgot how good of a singer Wolfie actually is until I heard Don't Back Down come on the radio a couple nights ago when I was out driving around at midnight. May Eddie rest in peace and I'm definitely gonna check out the rest of his album when I can.
Thank you so much Jim for this footage. Very cool of you....
He’s got a very good voice! We all knew he could play, they sound great🤘
Please please take care of your Health Big Homie! You are such a gifted talented and blessed artist we all want to enjoy your music for many years to come
The fucking kid is super talented unbelievable God bless him and God bless his father and mother wow love the album and he’s playing live fantastically
remember his uncle ALEX and EDDIE thought him some much about the music...he will be fine
He’s a 30 year old dude?!
Wolfgang is an incredible talent. He plays guitar, he plays bass, he sings, he writes, and he is going to be around for a long time.
Speechless God bless this young man
Dude!!! Thank you 🙏🏼 for posting these !! You were smack in the middle. Perfect footage. Saw them Wednesday night small club in Illinois ! I was blown away 😱. So GREAT 💫😎
Thank you for posting this. His father is so proud of him!
And so it begins...
I can't believe I get to witness the career of two Van Halen's...
3
Good stuff! Thanks for posting... that album is a front to back listen!
Thank you from all the uk fans
What a talent WVH is. At times if you close your eyes you can hear Ed's influence. So thrilled we have a new era of VH. WTG Wolfie.
How can anyone view this video and give it a thumbs down... this guy is pushing forward on his OWN terms... and puts out great music at the same time. Go WVH!!
I'm proud of this young man & his talented roots of life to carry on the tradition of his legendary father family, you geaux Wolfe & the Mammoth band I'm hooked, Theron Lowery United States Marine
Thank you for your service !!!!
Great Show ..... Wolfe Is Amazing I Knew He Would Be Great..... Saw it Years Ago in VH.... The Legacy Lives On In A New Generation.... Your Dad Would Be So Proud .....Great Job God Bless
Wolfie is kicking serious ass im on the verge of buying tickets for this tour only for them lol
Guns N’ Roses is great in this tour too
That sounds kinda dumb --- GNR is a legendary band
@@bobnellis375 but they’ve been known to suck ass live. I see what the guy means
@@tidentrue they definitely have not sucked live in the times i have seen them reincarnated. Seeing them again in detroit in 6 days, so we will see!
@@tidentrue I was at the live performance it was awesome but axel did mess up a bunch of lyrics. Though I think Slash’s guitar playing made up for it.
Not gonna lie, old school guy here with a major disdain for new rock, went to see Guns, but Mammoth was awesome! Def one of the hottest new bands. I'm sold.
Whats new rock?
@@ShanQueefus as new as you. So to speak...
This definitely has an 80s feel to it, I'd buy this and i haven't bought a cd in years. Great job Wolfgang 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
This was flat out f-Ing incredible !!
Eddie is looking down with so much pride . great job wolfie, but then again i wouldn't expect anything less. after all you learned from one of the best . also anyone notice who the drummer is ? It's Garrett Whitlock . he and wolfie also played in Tremonti together.👋👍😀
One of the greatest. You meant to say the greatest. I'm sure.
He’s said in interviews that he’s self taught on guitar that his dad didn’t really show him a lot because of his own style so he did yes pick up things from Eddie of course but his main playing and style he just learned on his own you see it in his playing doesn’t copy his Dads style at all .
@@JohnFFox12 well I'm calling Bullshit on you cause you can clearly see him finger tapping in one of the songs. His taught him how to play the main cords and he picked up his own style from there with his dad's finger tapping added. So don't think that Eddie didn't teach him for minute.
@@jamesgabioud6654
Really? On the CD he plays all instruments and vocals . . . Daddy is smiling!!
@@jamesgabioud6654 👍
Without question you can hear influences all over in his music and writing. It's a DAMN GOOD THING! Without question, talented, not trying to hide behind tracks. Good for you brother! One hell of a talent. KEEP ON ROCKING WOLF! A lof of people are smiling down on you and pulling for you down here. AMEN!
First time I heard the album on Amazon I was totally blown away & very impressed as every song is really smooth hard rock, great vocals, sound great live as well, I'll definitely be at their show if they come to Birmingham AL 😀
Had No idea he was this good of a vocalist. If he writes the songs too, they are great and catchy. Gonna support him!
Now he just needs to shed the weight. He owes that to his health!
Saw an interview with him and he actually did everything on this album. Write the songs, sang them, did the backing vocals, played every instrument and helped record and produce at the 5150 Studios. I agree with you about him needing to lose the weight. Playing night after night like this can take a toll on the body especially if you’re carrying all that extra weight! I’m by no means a little guy, but I’m carrying about 30 extra lbs. myself and it’s killing me playing drums every weekend 2-3 shows! 😰😰😰
Well he is getting a workout. I’m gettin a sweat just listening 🔥🔥
Come on man… Backhanded A$$hole compliment
@@rugdnit911 😆 🤣 straight up! Nice way to take a compliment away.
@@andreamarie1347 I swear… people are pathetic
What a helluva Hook in that jam!
Thanks Jim! I was there but didn’t have that view! Worth every penny. You got to go see see Mammoth WVH!
I was there last night, so true
He's a Class Act and very Humble. Mr Ed looking down proud of Him. 👍👍
Respect to Wolfgang. Such an EPIC album. Production, chops, lyrics, vocals and writing beyond anything I've heard in years - it's all there. Plus, he's got Gary Newman on bass!! Awesome.
Loving every second of this!
Jim , thanks so much for this.. Not going to Met Life. and not paying the prices for Atlantic
City,
His time with Mark Tremonti’s solo band really gave him the confidence to step into his own!
it's clear he is a fan of Creed and Alterbridge which is why he used their producer on this solo record. Elvis Baskett also produced Slash and Myles Kennedy's projects too.
don't forget the time he put in with his dad's band too. I'm guessing that was a confidence boost too.lol If not more so than his other projects.
Holy shit they NAILED that
Such a talented musician. LOVE the album. Easily my favorite release of 2021.
they sounded very good. I wouldnt mind seeing them open again for someone. I loved how he has his dad's guitar strap. you can see the eVh on it.
I don't think they're going to be opening much longer.
Thank you for posting this, Jim! Came out great!!
There's your future boys, and I'd say it's very bright...So good for you Wolf!
I vote for rock album of the year!
@ Jim Powers Always comes with the best videos .Thank you man these are super great, video and sound wise
He is the best ever!
This is great stuff but you have gone overboard on this one
Soooo much talent with an original sound. Great tunes. Gotta love some MAMMOTH and Wolfgang.
Killer vocals. Love it.
We need more rock music! 😎🤘🏼
Well, well, well. Just as incredible as I expected. Incredible talent. Delighted.
I love Wolf, he looks so happy being onstage and sounds great!
That's what I'm talking about!! Love it!!
Wolf is simply amazing! So much talent & what an incredible album! This just makes my heart smile❤️🥰💜
Great first album, and killer song, with Don't Back Down. Best of luck, young man!
I could lead in my comment with a long been a EVH van since 78 but I will jump to it. I am worried about his appearance and possible health concerns. I was 42, severely injured my lower back and went from 170 to 220 pounds from inactivity. Became type 2 diabetic and hypertension. Wolfie has his fathers DNA but also his mothers. I fully support this talented young man regardless of his decisions but hope he gets off that weight while he is young before issues set in. To many times we have seen "celebs" living in a insulated bubble of yes people. From what I have seen he appears to have a large support group and those who love him. Wish you a long, healthy and prosperous life.
So outrageously gifted talented genius kick ass!!! We love you Wolf!!!
Absolutely love that bass guitar ?! The look of the instrument. Particularly the finish
Looking forward to more music from Wolf.
MASTERPIECE of an Album!!
They sound great, thanks for sharing.
Awesome thanks for posting this.
I was hoping he'd play a Frankenstrat replica for the "Ed" solo in homage to the fact that he played the real one in the studio. Great job either way. Sounds great live.
Wolfie has a really good voice. the band sounds very tight. i like it !
Wolf you kill it everytime 👍👍 2 thumbs up because that's all I have😁
Heck yeah. This rocks.
Jim Thanks for posting this whole batch of tunes..
Wolfgang is gonna take the world by storm ,you can see his dad in him but Wolfgang is doing his own thing eddie is very proud of him as he watches from heavan, keep rocking wolf your gonna be great at anything you choose to do in life
Such an amazing talent!
AWWSOME!!! BRING BACK THE ROCK AND HEAVY METAL!!
Man...wolf is great ...he is such a natural...he jams...
Wow! And great live too!! 💓 it
OMG.... Good song and so love his music, his dad would be so proud of him . ROCK ON!! COOL.
There’s a great singer songwriter named Bleu. If he was a rocker, I’d swear this was him just by this listening. All that to say this…
Wolfie, is doing it right! Not trying to reinvent his dads legacy, just being himself and writing incredible modern rock music. Yes, MODERN rock music.
I think everyone whose bringing up his Dad in reference to his career only does a disservice to WVH. He’s clearly cutting his own path with music that in no way harkins to his dads music, but stands quite capably on its own merits. If we had no idea who his Dad was, he’d be getting compared to bands like The Foo Fighter and Queens of the Stoneage and not bands from a bygone era. And yes, I’m a musician from that bygone era with records and tours to back it up. But I truly appreciate was WVH is bringing to music in the here and now.
Such a GORGEOUS young man! 😜🐻
Yes!!! Sounds amazing 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Ed has the best seat in the house.
Sounds great man!
I'm so proud of Wolf! He is America's Son. And this is my favorite song of his.
He is awesome love his music so much he has alot if talent, he will go far in the music industry love you Wolfe
Brilliant !!… Much success to you Wolf !
fucking Van Halen blood runs deep.. God damn this is amazing..
