I've watched this duo in about 10 different videos now and I love this guys reaction when she sings every time, he is impressed with her voice and is very humble as hes got a pure voice as well.

His body language tells it all. His figeting from the start is nervousness not from the song, I'm sure he's sung it many times, but being nervous standing next to this cute girl. At 2:35 he looks at her in amazement. At 2:45 he shakes his head and steps back from the microphone, his body language conceding. It's really quite cute to watch him. These are awkward years. He's really at a lost to be next to her, and then she starts sing. But he's the first to applaud her. He really admires her.
He is so in awe of her singing voice ... he doesn't seem aware that his own voice is amazing also! The way he looks at her is so genuine I had to hold back the tears. Damn ... i've been waiting my whole life for somebody to look at me that way! Who wouldn't? Thats just beautiful.

I've been listening to these recordings again and again, this performance and singing is better than the original or any other version out there, it should be officially recorded. BRAVO!
I have another theory based in my 12 year old son who loves to sing and perform. When he does a duet he doesn't know what to do when it is not his turn to sing. So he does some awkward things like Chris here. I noticed at the Peace Proms performance he was more in control and was more like a very confident young man. In that one they both looked at each other with smiles and it seemed like genuine friendship. Yes he could be infatuated with her. I mean just look at her or should I say listen to her? But it is likely a combination of him being awkward, being amazed by her voice, and a little infatuation. I think they are really friends now though. Also this is an all boys school. They had just let girls try out for their choir. Jess was one of the first. So perhaps for some of these boys it was the first time encountering a female their age. You know how teen boys are.
This early rendition is by far the best. A night of choir practice innocently uncovers a beautiful moment.While the focus in the first instance is the young female vocalist,a huge amount of kudos goes to the male singer. Not only can he sing,his humility in acknowledging and being in awe of the young ladies voice says alot about his character

I am so grateful for this man. My life forever changed that day.... I knew the moment I seen him. He's my person, my soulmate. This video is a great example of something that most singers/musicians experience every now and then - The feels! Coming like an emotional overflow when being part of a performance and realizing that the someone else involved added that extra touch that makes the music go straight into your heart. It shows in this video, for sure. It is one thing to watch a concert and get emotional, we've all been there. But when you are on stage and being a part of creating that emotion, it is just magic. The times I've experienced it, remains some of the most amazing experiences of my life...
