They foolishly learned somewhere (probably middle school) that you aren't supposed to lean, twist, curl, etc., and everything is supposed to be straight left and right. That's a good way to tear ligaments and break bones. These professionals know every technique, and train the proper muscle groups intensely.

Rorbakken is an extremely powerful arm wrestler and his shoulder press style is super effective against Larratt's style. Larratt also managed to slow him down once he knew what he was dealing with. Not sure why people feel the need to make excuses for Larratt.

It's a legal technique definitely puts an emphasis on the user's weight, as Lars is a really big guy it's obvious why he chooses that technique. However it's very rarely used in high-level competitions as anything but a finisher, so despite it looking really powerful here against Devon's injured right hand, in reality it sees little uses.
