The 2nd stimulus check should have come one month after the first, and the first arrived about 2 months too late. Our government is absolutely inept at doing their job and taking care of their own people, it's already proven they are absolutely useless.
Any further stimulus should be paid for with taxes. The U.S. national debt clock is over $26 _trillion,_ and climbing. This debt will burden future generations of Americans, and they will hate us for the way we handled this virus with endless bailouts, stimulus and free stuff. We are stealing from the future. Enough.

Okay, this is simple.. free money started about April 9th, 2020 since then 600$ each week that's about 9000$. Let's say rent at 1200$ a month, so May, June and July. 3600$ balance remaining $5400$ wtf? That's at least rent until Nov. 2020, if you get evicted, no one to blame but yourself

Some people only got the 1200$ ..some who were supposed to get that didn't get anything at all whatsoever except their job closed.. Construction workers for example .

@not okay They're willing to pay higher rates because they don't have the capacity to live and work outside of the City. Everyone knows that prices in the City is very expensive due to the availability of high-paying jobs and rising cost of materials and labor. Everyone makes their own choices at their own risk. Some complain and do something about it, while others complain and continue to complain until it's too late.
The thing is it makes no sense to evict people. Reason who will they rent to. Most of the country is in the same posirion.
They will rent them to people that pay their rent. Same reason your car gets repossessed if you don't pay the note.
They will sell the rental properties in this crazy market.

@Lynn I don't think doing partisan cheap shots towards voters is helpful. 1/3 of SC didn't vote in 2016 (there is voter suppression) , and those who did vote, about 45% did voted democrat. Discussing policy change is more constructive. Personally, I would hope the movement for housing cooperatives gets a boost (coophousing.org/) as well as just suggest to Americans that maybe socialism (in the Northern European style) isn't as bad as many Americans think it is.

These aren't premium apartments, soo when landlords evict tenants who can't pay rent, who do they expect to move in? A tenant who was recently homeless. Or a tenant recently evicted. Or maybe the apt goes empty because there aren't qualified tenants. All they're doing is replacing one problem with another. It's called a hustle. And landlords play it to their benefit.
I don't feel bad for any landlord period. I have a family full of them and all their friends are landlords. And there isn't a single one of them who aren't out to straight take advantage of anybody they can. So these landlords are just getting what's been coming to them as far as I see it. If they'd just minded their own business and not been ate up with greed they'd probably be just fine.
Replacing one problem of Tenants who can't pay Rent is not a Landlord's problem; that's the City and State's problem who receive Millions of Dollars in Our Taxes as Our Employees who get paid to be Responsible and Accountable to handle these kinds of Problems. Homeowners are simply engaging in legitimate "Business" transactions with Prospective Business Partners - Income-earning Tenants. If the Rent is too high for anyone willing to engage in Business, then the Rent is simply reduced until a Tenant who earns sufficient income accepts the mutual interest to sign the Rental Agreement Contract.

Try to wrap your mind around this, stimulus check for 1, and two children $2,200, unemployment at the state minimum $790 a week, unemployed three month's so that is $9,480 so far, mentioned she gets food stamps, so in three month's you gained $11,680. Why is that you cannot pay rent?
I honesty think it would of been better for people to get free rent for like 3 months instead of the stimulus money. And food should be donated little by little to each family is a lot of work but is possible.

I think that this whole pandemic and its effects that we're seeing right now not just in the U.S but across the world is paving the way for something bigger in a matter of 5-10 years if this keeps continuing. And my thought is that this where the New World order (NWO) will come into play. Mass population control and surveillance through the implantation of microchips and isolates those that are sick and infected away from the rest of society and allowing us to basically do anything that we take for granted in society like buying food in our supermarkets and do all sorts of other business. And that's where the Book of Revelations from the Bible is involved which tells us to be watchful of these things and to not take the Mark of the Beast which will be likely be inscripted in those microchips that will be used to insert into people in order to control us. From there is when the Tribulation like book of revelations mentions will happen, the persecution and suffering of those that refuse to take the mark of the beast who are Christians that believe in Jesus because taking it means be condemned to burn in hell forever when Jesus Christ comes back and judges us alongside with his Father, God, the all powerful, Creator of all things visible and invinsible. I use to live in New Orleans. Total crooks. Projects with boarded up windows with people living in them meanwhile them collecting millions in Federal housing putting the $ in their pockets. My daughter lives in LA. She was working at Burbank Airport, then the pandemic. She has been trying to get through to Unemployment in Cali, for over 3 months. It's really a mess now!

That's ok to say but how does the landlord pay the loan repayment on the property when they themselves rely on that rent to pay it..? They in turn will run the risk of foreclosure and the property is sold by the bank anyway forcing the tenant out..

People that have negotiated the terms of their lease with their landlords are not being evicted. Laws vary state to state but are heavily biased towards tenants.

A Kd if the landlord does not get paid then the landlord will have to cover the renters expenses. Therefore the landlord will go broke and then both the landlord and renter will be homeless. So, all these renters who are taking advantage of this situation are technically stealing from the landlords!! It’s like you go to dinner with someone and they claim to be able to pay for there meal. But once the ticket comes they for some reason can’t and you have to cover it. In return they never pay you back.
Show me where I said they should not get paid. If people get evicted its them not the renters out on the street. If it could help a family out that has been hit hard .. why not temporarily lower rent? Or skip a month. Problem anymore is many worry about themselves and dont help or care.

Burlington, NC- Our family of 7 is being evicted next week. We PAY our rent on time and in full every month. Government needs to literally HALT evictions for a year while people figure stuff out. We would move but there is a CRITICAL affordable housing shortage. How in the freak would making 10,000+ families homeless (just in NC) make the world any safer??! Our landlord is trying to flip our house and has no compassion. Our five adult kids had their universities shuttered and had to quit jobs because we dont know where we are going to live. We have asked property managers, realtors, churches, NC 211, librarians, gas station cashiers, Walmart employees and people on the street- THERE ARENT ANY RENTALS...UGH!
You want the government to force the property owner to keep and maintain the property for a year so you can " figure stuff out" ? Maybe the property owner needs the money and has to sell the property, maybe the property owner no longer wants to be in the rental business.

Hundreds of thousands of hard working people from the oilfield have lost their jobs permanently and now have to transition to new fields which is hard enough when the economy isnt in a recession.

with the situation once again getting bad across the US i am worried what the future holds but I foresee being unable to find work for the remainder of the year. The CARES Act money is enough to keep me afloat until Sept at best, if this country isn't going to do anything about halting rents they should at least extend it.
