    The only suggestion I would make to the publisher is to make the book spiral bound. That would make it easier to keep it open during play.

      I put a sheet of acrylic over the book. This keeps the book flat and it also allows me to use cubes and mark the Plexiglas with a grease pencil. I think making it spiral-bound would increase costs (and the printer they used would need to be able to bind this way).

    Thanks for this, once again you have come up trumps by letting us know about a game I didn't know existed. I'm interested in trying out different game mechanisms and this has one I haven't tried before so will defintely give it go.

      Just ordered it + Waterloo. Also another game I had not heard of "The Fields of Normandy" by Mike Lambo, not sure if you have tried this yourself

    You gotta love Cody. After watching one of his video you get all pumped-up for a new game (or not!). But he also takes away the guessing as in, should I buy this one or that one. After most of his reviews you have a sense of what the game is and if it will be the one for your taste.
    Thank you Cody.
    Now I have to buy that book and the Napoleon one of course.

    It seems to be selling well on Amazon for Worthington so good for them.

    Definitely want to get this now. On a side note, I think it's interesting that they refer to U-556 as just "the U-Boat". It's almost like they didn't know about the Patenschaftsurkunde (Certificate of Sponsorship).

      The rulebook says the single u-boat in the game actually represents multiple boats but to keep the game simple they just included one in the game.

    Interesting. I don’t know why they didn’t make a board game with some nice miniatures of the different ships. Thank you.

    • @TheDiscriminatingGamer
      @TheDiscriminatingGamer  2 года назад +1

      I think that would defeat the purpose. This is meant to be simple, elegant, and quick. It’s a hecka lota fun, with virtually no setup and take down.

    • @bahasainggeris7884
      @bahasainggeris7884 2 года назад +2

      They wanted to produce a game that was readily accessible to players because of Covid and the shipping delays. If they made miniatures, the game would be subject to shipping delays (or if made in the US the cost would be much more). The product they have is made in the US so there are no delays in waiting for a container. In addition, it's basically a print-on-demand, so Worthington doesn't need to store the booklets until they sell. When you place an order, the printer creates the book and then ships it to you. :)

      @@varovaro1967 Yeah, I wouldn't say 'no' to minis. *grins* There aren't a lot of games with ship minis and it seems when there are, they are cost-prohibitive to me. :(

    I'm glad that you enjoyed the game. I bought it... but plague (Covid) and washed out roads caused Amazon to give up on delivery and refund my money. I definitely need to try again.

    Should be hexagons, not squares. Otherwise, moving diagonally on the squares grid artificially speeds up your units.

    • @Statalyzer
      @Statalyzer Год назад +2

      You can't move diagonally in this game.
